Novo Kitchen & Bath

We recently move to a home that was recently remodeled, but the cabinets were handmade to accommodate the previews owners height (some neighbors mention they were over six feet tall). So we had a kitchen with bar size cabinets that didn't work for us (I'm 5'5"). So I contacted Marcos through a reference of a colleague. He came over to measure our space and offer great layout suggestions. Two days later we received detail and beautiful design made by Akin. We sat down with both of them, Akin walk us through and explained their design and the materials that we could use from their supplier. We sign the contract and set a date to start the project. Team NOVO arrived on time ready to work from the first day to the last. On the first day, they moved the existing appliances and insulated their working area so we would not be disrupted during the remodel. We had minimal dust thanks to this which was very important because we have young children. Marcos had a great attitude to unexpected problems they encounter, looking for solutions to stay on budget and the time frame. I was very please with this, it was reassuring having some with such great deal of experience. Marcos is very detail oriented, he guides his team to pay attention to small details that make a huge difference in the final product. After ten business days we had our kitchen ready to be used. We are very happy with the end product, the only regret that I have is not contacting NOVO sooner. We look forward working with NOVO in the near future, our bathrooms are our next project.

First of all; I should frame this review by mentioning that I've had lots of contractor experiences in the past, in VA and elsewhere. I've done lots of projects as a homeowner for 20 years; from full remodeling to small fix-ups... and we're very visually-oriented particular and fussy. Marcos came referred from our two neighbors and I couldn't have been more pleased with the work his crew and he did for us. We did a full kitchen remodel in an seventy-five-years-old house. Just saying that causes some contractors to add-on their bids 50%. Marcos was very clear about what he would provide and any potential issues - up front, his bid was fair and he was easy to talk with. After we signed and started, we found that the project was 90% done AHEAD of scheduled time, and this was working with many subcontractors -- cabinetry, stone work, electrical, plumbing AND dealing with county permitting. Marcos was terrific. His experience as a VA contractor helped us to quickly get the various inspections and city permits done, which is good enough to cheer. On top of that; his crew was very effective. We lived in the house through a month long kitchen demo and reconstruction with 3 kids and pets. Marcos's crew, headed by the fabulous foreman Rene, were incredibly quiet, very neat and respectful, organizing the project sequencing and their gear so that work was continuing at all times, no other jobs or mysterious quiescence for long weekends. I live in a house which is old; nothing in level or square, yet Marcos's team always gave me several options when the old house surprises arise and a very positive attitude as we figured out our next steps. I think you can see the real quality of a contractor in the last phase. I've had many projects drag on at the last phase because the contractor moved his main crew to new projects and left a long punch list of small things undone until I complained. Not Marcos. He comes and inspects himself and sends his key crew, even if it is a small painting or carpentry item. He came himself the next day to come up with something better when I didn't love one carpentry solution. I appreciate he did things right by my measure, not only his. I can sincerely recommend Marcos and will call him again for the next projects.

A friend of mine recommended the company that did some work in her bathrooms and I took a look at the work performed. It was very nice so I called Marcos, asked for an estimate, and he came out later that week. Two weeks later, he brought a plan, we agreed on a price, I signed a contract, and he started work in early November. We had an understanding that I could make changes within reason to keep the price steady. His workmen started demolition and took everything out, making preparations for plumbing and electrical work. His tile layer, Carlos, did a beautiful job with the carrera marble. I was very pleased. It took more time than I thought as each job had to be done and things measured carefully before starting the next phase. Unfortunately, the marble countertop cracked when it was being prepared, so we put in another temporary top to get through the holidays, as I had house guests arriving. I learned that this happens with marble as sometimes it cracks on the vein, something to be aware of. I incurred extra costs because I had accepted liability for that. In January, Marcos and I worked together to find the right granite countertop. We did and it was installed at the end of the month. Marcos did the last finishing touches yesterday and I have a stunning bathroom. I am so happy that we worked together to get the best results. I was worried when the top cracked but Marcos assured me we would get it resolved to my satisfaction. We did. I recommend these guys because they are honest and very professional. I also had Carlos put in a beautiful backsplash in my kitchen and a new tile floor in a smaller bathroom. Those projects are not included in the cost above. I am very happy with them also. All in all, all work was done much to my satisfaction. Thank you, Marcos.

I had a pleasant and smooth experience with for my master bathroom remodel. I had an awkwardly designed bathroom constructed with cheap materials. I hired NOVO to remodel the both bathrooms. I didn't change any of the electrical wiring nor plumbing, so it was all cosmetic. They had scoped 5 weeks to complete both bathrooms, but they completed both bathrooms in 4 weeks, partly due to their efficient speed, lack of unforeseen issues, and my bathrooms being smaller than most master bathrooms. Marcos is the owner of the business and oversees customer development, management, and general contracting. He served as my single point of contact into the execution phases and throughout the initial planning. He has always been responsive to phone calls, texts and e-mails. Juan and Adriano are the two craftsmen who worked on the project. Throughout the demolition and construction phases, they were courteous and professional. They prepped and cleaned the work area each day to minimize disruption while my wife and I continue to live in the home. They performed the work with attention to detail and also recommended design choices that made the overall appearance look better than I had designed. Akin is the designer who helped me with entire selection process and made the design renderings which are just like the outcome, it was easy to make material selections with his design views. NOVO procured all of the finished goods through their supplier for the project: cabinet, countertop, tiles, plumbing fixtures, toilet, mirror, and shower door. Even though their price was little higher than other two contractors, they proved that their price is excellent when I compared with the outcome.
