Description of Work: They cleaned and checked chimney for leaks - then recommended another provider to do the repair as they didn't do those kind of repairs (retucking). Very polite, comprehensive (showed us a vdo of the inside of our chimney)

Description of Work: The owner came himself because one of his man couldn't make it to work. He was very polite and efficient. He also let me know that my fireplace mantel was not to code and send me a copy of the county code so we can fix it.

Description of Work: The services were sweeping the chm The person from Nicholas Chimney was vey professional and experienced. Before starting doing the sweeping he covered all the floors. After sweeping he serviced the gas logs and gave more advise on the chimney.

Description of Work: My gas burner sealed unit fireplace was having some difficulty lighting this year. Nicolas came out and did a thorough cleaning, not only does it light better but the glass and interior is spotless. They took great care in putting down drop cloths and ensuring that the carpet nearby was kept clean.

Description of Work: The did standard maintenance of my chimmey. Took care as not to make a mess and left the house as clean as when they arrived. The only issue I had is that the price of repairing the cap was more than what they quoted me for a new one.

Raul Machado arrived at the appointed time, laid down drop cloths to protect my rugs, brought in his vacuum and completed a sweeping of my chimney. Everything was done very professionally, and I am quite pleased because this is the first job I have given this company. They will be my first choice for future chimney work.

Description of Work: Had our chimney cleaned and checked out. Two guys showed up at the appointed time in their truck with tarps and a large vacuum and probably other tools, I didn't look too closely. The house was as clean when they left as when they arrived and all the leftovers in our fireplace/chimney from the previous home owners were gone. They also told us that the crack in the back of the fireplace (which we knew about) could be fixed more easily then we had anticipated. We'd eventually like to replace the fireplace with a wood stove and got a good recommendation on the brand we should look for. They also checked the roof part of the chimney and told us it was in good shape. The work was done in about 45-60 minutes.

Description of Work: They cleaned our woodburning fireplace insert and flu liner. They had installed it about 7 years ago. It took them about 30 minutes. Although I thought the price was a bit high (it is normally $225, but I managed a $40 discount), they did do a good job and are very friendly people to work with.

Description of Work: Nicholas Chimney repaired a non-functioning gas log fireplace in one hour. John Petro cleaned the entire fireplace, including glass and logs, and also cleaned the gas pilot and ensured its proper functioning. He re-connected firmly, and checked with a volt meter, the electrical connections inside the fireplace and on the wall switch. He explained how the gas logs wall switch doesn't use 120V A/C from the main house supply, but uses only about 500 millivolts generated by the gas pilot starter itself - all contained within the fireplace. A nice job. They moved up my appointment to 11 November due to a cancellation. Angie's List got me a qualified, competent service provider, and saved me $30 with a coupon.
