Naulas Hardwood Floor

I contacted Naula's Floors for an estimate. The phone was answered incoherently. Once I confirmed that I had the correct number, I described the work I needed (replacement of hardwood boards that had been damaged by water). I needed to provide some additional details about the work needed, so 2 days later after obtaining that information and photographing the room with the damage, I called again. Once again the phone was answered incoherently and unbusiness like. I was asked to send the information to an email address, which I did, and asked for confirmation of the quote I had been given, as well as confirmation of the date and time for the service as discussed on the phone. After two days of receiving no response, I sent another email seeking confirmation. Three more days passed without any response. I have emailed again to indicate that I will be taking my business elsewhere. The unprofessional phone demeanor and lack of response instills no faith or trust.

Mr. Naula was great. His price was reasonable and he even came in on a Saturday to give us an estimate. The overall work was beautifully done and I could not have been happier. His crew got the job done in two days. On the first day, he was running 15 minutes late and called to let me know! I was very impressed by that. He also dealt with loading dock issues when I was at work and couldn't answer the phone. By the time I called back, he had settled everything! I would definitely use Naula's Flooring again.

Mr. Naula's workmanship is superb. His cost estimate was, at least, $2k below a local "box" hardward flooring store. He and his staff worked diligently and completed the job in less than two days. They were so tidy as well, protecting my existing floors, vaccuming up dust as they went, protecting my furniture from dust. I couldn't be more pleased, they were so attentive to my every request, right down to ensuring that every little smudge spot on the stairwell was painted and covered. I echo all other Angie's List members in giving Mr. Naula all "As" - he is that good. .

the work went very well from the start. They always arrived on time and completed the work exactly when they said they would. I would use them again when the time comes. they were careful to section off parts of the house to prevent dust from the sanding work, used a professional grade vacuum to keep dust to a minimum. Every one of the workers worked hard, the result was exactly as expected.

We got the referral for Louis Naula from Angies's List. His references were outstanding and there is a reason why. We gave Louis the keys to our house while we were at the beach and he and his team surpassed our expectations. The work was beautifully done and superbly blended into the older floors that did not need refinishing. He was absolutely on schedule and price which we found very reasonable. All was clean and neat when we returned. Outstanding job! Outstanding professional! We highly recommend!

Naula's did an excellent job. They showed up on time and worked very efficinetly. The finished product looks great and has greatly improved our home. I would use Naula again without hesitation.

Mr. Naula was very staight forward and easy to reach. The day after he visited my home for the estimate, he emailed me the proposal. On his recommendation, I installed red oak hardwood which is the type of flooring I have in the rest of my home (and according to him, exists in most homes that have hardwood flooring). The entire job took about a day and a half to complete. A three man crew was sent to my home and the men were all polite, neat workers and skilled in their craft. Two coats of stain were applied to the floor and it was necessary to allow the first coat to dry overnight. Since both rooms were new construction, moving furniture was not an issue. One noteworthy item is that a door into the new sunroom from the main house was an exterior door (there had been a deck there before) and it had a thick rubber threshold. Juan Naula, who was the foreman on the crew, did a superb job of removing the threshold from the door so that the new floor in the sunroom could flow smoothly into the adjoining room of the main house. Although this involved several rounds of cutting, there was no damage to either the door, the sunroom floor or adjoining floor. The new hardwood floor has a lovely grain and I much prefer it to the narrower 2 1/4" red oak floors we have in our main house. The one caveat I would note is that although Mr. Naula had advised that he would mix various stains on the job site, and Juan in fact did so, only the natural stain really looked good. This stain is a lighter color than what I had in mind but hopefully will darken with time. As a consequence, the new red oak floor is different in color than the existing red oak floor in the adjoining room which is more of a butterscotch color. However, after seeing the new sunroom floor for about two weeks now, I am starting to think that the sunroom floor has a more realistic wood color than that in the adjoining room. It may be that the natural stain is really the best way to go for red oak flooring.

They were great. They very much took care of the house while they were here. There was furniture they had to move and were careful. The put plastic on everything so there was no sawdust that got upstairs. I felt they were very conscientious of not making a mess. They were punctual and got it done in a few days. I thought they were honest and a good group of guys to work with.

They were very good to work with. Louis is the employee that I had worked with. They were quick, professional, and reasonably-priced. They were also good about working with my schedule, coming back when needed. I’d recommend them to people for hardwood flooring.

My wife and I just recently purchased a 3 level townhouse in Lorton, VA (built in 1995) and have been looking at multiple contractors to replace the outdated flooring. After searching around Angies list, Naula's hardwood floors caught my attention with the amount of great reviews and overall satisfaction. Contacted Luis the next morning and told him my situation. He actually had the time the same day I called to come to my home (late in the afternoon) to assess what I wanted done and get the measurements he needed. He was very polite, friendly and professional. Based on his knowledge as well as the portfolio that he provided I was already hooked. That same night I got a email with a quote. It was at a very reasonable price and decided to go with his service. Luis and his crew arrived the following week. They were very friendly and respectful. I'm currently still living in my apartment until the remodeling is done and provided a key for them to use. I frequently visited during my lunch breaks and after work to check on their progress and was impressed every time. What really impressed me was how flexible they were to my requests. One day I walked in and realized that they stained all the wooden planks for the stairway in the entry foyer of our home. I told Luis's crew if they could instead paint the backboards white to provide a more elegant look. They had no problem and immediately fixed the issue. Same thing happened to the quarter round molding the next day. I told them if they could instead paint it white to match the trim. I felt it would look alot cleaner overall for the main level. Again no problem and immediately satisfied my request. It was a 5 day project mainly because they had to sand our stair railings and banisters down. They did a thorough job which looked practically brand new. They had to use three coats to match the dark hardwood floors. The end result was amazing! I couldn't be more happier. I've already been getting a ton of "likes" on facebook. Luis and his crew are extremely professional and hardworking. I will definitely contact them again for my next flooring project. HIRE THESE GUYS! I doubt youll be disappointed.

We have been renovating our living area and wanted to have the floors stained and refinished as part of that. We hired who we thought were a knowledgeable crew of guys for a discounted, word of mouth price. From the beginning it should have been obvious these clowns didn't know what they were doing as they were using hand held belt sanders. And by the time they put down the second coat of polyurethane, it was too late....hardened bubbles and lots of saw dust in the work. They tried to fix the problem, but just made it worse having sanded down again but not to the wood, but laying out stain again! Fired! I found Louis here on Angie's List and, due to all the positive feedback, decided to give him a call. Louise showed up to our initial appointment on time and was very straightforward and professional with regard to what we needed to have done. his only concern was that we may not have enough wood to sand down again. But, after having pulled the old fireplace hearth stone, we could verify that we had enough wood to sand. Louis and his crew arrived a week later, again on time, and proceeded to do exactly what we contracted for them to do. They framed in the new hearth area with 5" oak and sanded everything down to pristine wood. And they used real tools to do it, a large industrial belt sander, a corner rotary sander and once completed, a sanding buffer to make everything nice and smooth. This was all followed by the first coat of stain on the first day. Every day after until today, the crew showed up to add another coat of stain, followed by three coats of polyurethane. We inspected the floors this morning before the last coat and they are beautiful! Louis is top notch. He provided the experience one should expect from a professional tradesman. His promises were kept, his crew was very respectful of our living space and kept everything clean and we love the outcome. In fact, we are considering having our steps done now and some of our friends are interested too. Hire this guy!

He did a very good job, and I was very happy. He did a good work for a good price.

The workers took care to contain the sanding dust and did not damage anything. I am delighted with the result and would recommend them to anyone. Very nice people.

It went great. They were responsive, they were mindful of the dust and protected the area and most importantly the floors look good! I have recommended them to friends. HOw much I spent (above) is very approximate as I don't remember exactly (over a year ago!). Bottom line their price is right and the work was good.

We used Naula's to refinish the flooring on a house prior to our moving in. We also had another company provide a quote on the job. Naula's was several hundred dollars cheaper and all other factors seemed even, so we went with Naula's. Luis Naula and his team did an excellent job. We always dealt directly with Luis, and he was always professional, courteous, and overall a pleasure to deal with. We threw a few curve balls at him by asking for some additional work after he had provided the quote. He was very flexible and took these additional requests in stride. I was expecting an egregious upcharge for these additional requests given that he clearly already had me committed (he had already started the job), but the additional fees he quoted for our proposed additional work were very reasonable and consistent with other fees. His team also removed and refinished a wooden hand-rail and did a great job. Overall, we would highly recommend him

Excellent job! Luis' crew did a fantastic job and earn yet another A, all around. Work performed within tight budget and the craftsmanship of the finished rooms is fabulous. I highly recommend Naula's and would hire them again in a heartbeat.

When I called them on Tuesday after I picked up the wood at home depot they said they could do the repair the next day. They showed up at 8:30 am as they said and finished the job by Noon. The work was fast clean and done very well.

They were responsive and right on the money. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. The owner gave me pretty good advice about my options, whether to fill in the cracks or to replace the wood. He gave me really good information about that. It was quick and easy and the floors look great. The workers were fine. I couldn’t actually be in the house when they were there but they were great. There were no problems with anything in the house and there was no damage done.

Mr. Naula's crew of two, three or four men promptly arrived as scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the same week and finished the job on Friday earlier than expected. They were always neat and courteous and cleaned up meticulously each day after completing the work. They were careful to provide protection to existing floors before beginning their work. He will do another very large bedroom, some tile work in a bathroom and refinish my stairs and two other landings and refinish my living room and dining room within the next month because I am very confident in his work and professionalism. Mr Naula was a delight to work with and always responded to my questions and concerns by email or phone very promptly. I highly recommend him!

Excellent. The crew was punctual and neat - each day they cleaned up sawdust, calk, equipment, etc. and left nothing behind when the job was done. Luis Naula was prompt in returning my message, and came out the same day to do an estimate. He then emailed me the estimate the same day. A few days later he and his crew showed up on time and worked three days straight (including a Saturday) until the work was finished. The crew cleaned up after itself, and was careful with the rest of the house - no damage to the walls, and no damage to the new floor. A week later the crew returned and installed two flights of oak stairs, along with new railings. Although the flooring was pre-finished, the crew varnished the stairs and railings on-site. All work was done on time and at the price quoted. The quality of the work was excellent. The crew also fixed any squeaks they noticed in the sub-floor. I would use Naula's Hardwood Flooring again without hesitation, and recommended them highly to one of my neighbors.

I called Mr. Naula to request an estimate for replacing the carpet on the main floor and both stairwells with hardwood; he came to my house the same afternoon. His portfolio of past jobs was very impressive. He emailed us his estimate that evening; it was a great price. We already had hardwood in the hallway, dining room, and kitchen, and I was concerned whether the new flooring would match after so many years had passed. They started the project 2 days later and even worked on the weekend! The flooring they installed in the den and dining room was pre-finished, but the stairwells were built with 'raw' wood and had to be stained and sealed. He has a good eye for color, because it all matches very well. He and his crew did an excellent job, paid attention to the details, and cleaned up at the end of each day, all for an excellent price. We will definitely call him again!

We refinished hardwoods in a house in another city and knew the hassles we were getting in for. Luis and his team exceeded our expectations, making this as painless as it could be, and delivered a beautiful floor. Luis responded to my initial voice message immediately and arrived on time to meet with us. We were impressed by his professionalism and knowledge. He emailed the estimate the next day - it was a fair price for the work done given the size of the floors. We did pay extra to have his team help move some of the larger pieces of furniture both out of the house and back in after 24 hours of the final coat. The work started and ended on time with Luis advising us daily of the progress. Two rooms on the main floor of the house did not have hardwoods: one that adjoined 2 rooms with hardwoods and another adjoining the kitchen hardwoods. Luis ‘fingered’ in the boards between the rooms resulting in an incredibly smooth transition. He replaced all the quarter round on the floors, and did an excellent job at the corners with tight seams. They were also very careful with the baseboards and didn’t get stain on them. He matched the stain on our stairs, allowing for changes of color in a year or so as the finish ages. At the final inspection we noticed one small area that needed additional buffing which his team fixed immediately. You would never know the floor hadn’t been initially built with hardwoods throughout. There were also several damaged areas where the flooring didn’t meet the door molding leaving large gaps on the floor which the previous owners filled with caulk. Luis put new boards up to and under the molding - it looks beautiful! You can’t tell they are new boards or that the damage ever existed. They did a wonderful job sealing the house from the dust. There was almost no dust in the cupboards or closets (even though the closet floors were refinished). There was dust - no escaping that with this type of work - but a fraction of the dust we experienced when we refinished a floor before (not with Naula’s). They sealed the basement as well, but it is on the same AC as the main floor so we did expect the dust from the ventilation system. Overall, it was far less dust than we’d imagined. Refinishing floors is a hassle with having to move furniture, moving out of the house, and then moving everything back in. Naula’s Hardwoods did an excellent job - we’re thrilled with our beautiful floors!

The overall job was very nice. I am very happy with their services. Their price was very good compared to the others. The service was done in one day as they had told us and there were no surprises. They were very nice and very clean. They didn’t leave anything behind. They did the overall work in two days and each day they cleaned up. They were very quiet and very professional. I would use them again in the future.
