This is a company you can trust. Mottern did not try to oversell us. They gave us a timely and fair estimate. Jeff walked the property with us, Guy kept us informed on scheduling and the work crew showed up right on time and worked diligently. The end product looks great.

Mottern Masonry is who we called as they replaced our front porch and walkway in 2014 and it has held up well. Jeff’s crew did the job in two days and did a great job on matching the brick and mortar to the existing chimney. They replaced the top three rows of the chimney and six rows of brick on the shoulder as shown. Put in a photo of our walk as well. Definitely worth the money. Have not had any rain in our fireplace since then.

Mottern Masonry was great to work with and we love our new patio. They were very responsive to all of our questions and were able to put in our patio in a very reasonable timeframe. Mottern Masonry was terrific start to finish. Jeff and his team helped us create a beautiful update to our home. We converted a plain old concrete walkway, steps, and front stoop, to a work of art that has all the neighbors stopping by to tell us how good it looks and asking which company did the work. Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out: on time, on budget and as planned.

The Mottern Masonry team did an excellent job. Jeff Mottern came to the site and advised on the design of the patio and steps, and the type and size of stone suitable for the project. The workers, under the direction of George, were punctual, very hard-working, and did an excellent job. We are very happy with the results.

Mottern Masonry removed an old dry set brick patio and installed a cut Pennsylvania fieldstone patio approximately 300 square feet. They also created a 40 foot poured and stamped concrete pathway and pad for trash and recycling cans. The path used dyed concrete and a sealer that adds texture and color so it in no way looks like concrete. They also Installed underground drainage from downspouts and repaired some 100 year old brick work. The workmanship was excellent and we could not be more pleased with the result. There is a definite artisan quality to the resulting color and layout of the patio. Everyone at Mottern Masonry is polite, informative and provide excellent explanations and suggestions about the work.

Excellent work, great attention to detail, communicated clearly about the work, schedule and price, showed up as promised and cleaned up the area. Totally professional.

I interviewed five quality patio and stone contractors for a patio project that I had put off for quite some time. Jeff Mottern and his team at Mottern Masonry were the clear choice. His helpful suggestions on the pros and cons of stone, pavers or stamped concrete were exactly what I needed to decide what was best for us. He provided recommendations on the size of the patio, the steps and steered me clear of potential pitfalls. Jeff and his team at Mottern Masonry completed the job in a very timely fashion. They were courteous, professional and did a nice job cleaning up after their work. They also completed two other small related stone projects while on site that I had also put on hold for several years. For the quality and price, I would highly recommend Mottern Masonry and if I need stone work in the future, I know who to call.

In two words: highly satisfied Here's what we needed done: a) Fix all cracks in mortar of patio wall b) Fix stone steps that had sagged like 3 inches away from the house c) Repair entire walking surface, which had begun to sag in spots and whose mortar was half gone. The total job involved pulling up all the pavers, destroying the entire existing foundation, pouring a new foundation (including a 16" pit of concrete below the foot of the steps: "those steps will never move again" we were told), laying the pavers back down (including new ones to replace the 50% of ones that got broken when pulling them up), deconstructing the steps, reconstructing the steps, recapping the patio walls and repairing all mortar cracks in the patio walls. They ended with an "acid wash" which brought out the color in the stone as if it were brand new. We interviewed 4 different companies before hiring Mottern. While their prices were highest, the margin was small (about 5% above others), but well worth it. Highlights: - Jeff Mottern spent 2 hours with me during the estimation process, discussing what we needed done, offering solutions, and generally making me comfortable that this company knew their stuff - They wrote up a detailed contract with exact prices and services to be performed - They estimated one start date, but then when I signed the contract they tried to move it to two weeks later. When I explained that this would overlap with my time out of town they worked with me to find another start date that was within a few days of the original estimate. - The workers were phenomenal. Working in 95 degree weather from about 7 am until late afternoon. A crew of 3 was always on site. Half the job was deconstruction, the other half re-construction. When it came to re-construction, they brought in a new crew member who must've been a master mason, because his stonework was impeccable! - Because one issue was steps sagging from the house (letting rain get in and rot wood), they arranged for a carpenter to come in, mid-job, and repair the rotten wood between stair-deconstruct and stair-reconstruct. - They had to work around existing lighting and electrical cables that ran under and through the existing patio, and did so without any issues. For the sake of being genuine, if I had to find one flaw it was that, as I had concerns or questions throughout the job, it sometimes took 1-2 days before I got an answer back from Guy (their "answer guy"). Thankfully this didn't lead to any issues, but it would've made me less nervous to have immediate responses. In the end, we are thrilled with the work they did, and would recommend them for any masonry work.

Mottern Masonry did another fantastic job. We hired them years ago to redo our front porch with flagstone, which we get compliments every time new contractors come over for other work. It was a no brainer to have them do our back patio when it came time to replace that. They replaced our old 12x12 slab with a much larger stamped concrete patio. The work came out great and they completed the project on schedule. I would highly recommend them to anyone for your concrete or stone projects.

Very good company to do business with. The Owner did the original inspection and consultation. They did a good job of communicating with us throughout the process.

I really appreciate the skill and craftsmanship of their stonework. The Mottern team is first rate and the porch and stacking walls look beautiful. In addition they provide a contact to a top-notch handyman to repair the pillars on the porch. They were able to coordinate the jobs and the work was performed efficiently and flawlessly. Mottern did an exceptional job on our project and we are absolutely delighted with the results. I highly recommend them for any masonry work you may be considering. From our initial meeting with the estimator (Jeff), working project logistics with the back office (Guy), to the actual installation and working with the crew; the entire process went very smoothly. Mottern’s team is very professional and polite; they worked collaboratively with us to achieve our vision. We were very impressed with the skill, craftsmanship, and attention to detail demonstrated by the installation team; truly first rate. Our project consisted of upgrading the look of our front stoop, replacing and changing the layout of the main entrance walkway, and adding a curved gardening wall at the corner of the house. After speaking with Jeff about our design ideas and options, we selected Pennsylvania blue stone for the stoop and walkway and a weather face stone for the garden wall. During installation, Mottern worked with us as we made adjustments to our initial design and pattern so that in end, our project turned out even better than we initially envisioned.

Since we bought our home in 2007 we have dealt with several contractors for various repairs and home improvements. Mottern Masonry Design is by far the most professional company we have ever dealt with. They performed the work well before the projected start date which made us extremely happy. Jeff, the owner, Guy the scheduler, and the craftsman who did the work are outstanding professionals. The end result was beyond our expectations. Rather than to try and repair a broken brick on the porch they had 3 bricks for us to choose from to replace the broken one. Cannot tell the difference, perfection. Most companies due not go to this extent to satisfy the customer. Without hesitation of reservation highly recommend Mottern Masonry Design. Our job was a small one in comparison to other jobs they do and would be considered by some to be pricey. You get what you pay for and every penny was worth the outstanding job they did.

We had an old sagging poured concrete patio replaced with a bigger, flagstone patio in our backyard. We got several quotes from other highly rated companies and Mottern's quote was not only very competitive, but we also liked that they were willing to go the extra mile and tear out the existing concrete patio vs just building over it. Jeff and his crew were prompt, courteous, and communicative. During the tear out of the old patio, they ended up denting a bump out. When we brought it up with Jeff, he was super nice about it and took care of it right away - very professional. We love how the patio turned out! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

The Mottern Masonry team was great to work with and provided high quality work at a competitive price. We had them install a stone patio, approx. 120 SF, for a fire pit area. When Jeff came for the estimate we had an idea of what we wanted, but after discussing things with Jeff we changed our minds on patio shape and material, and it came out great. Ask questions and listen to advice. The installation team was also great. Communication was open throughout the process to ensure things went smoothly. And, of course, Guy was responsive and helpful getting us scheduled and setup. It's been in a month now, and the new patio is looking great! Price-wise, Mottern came in on par with their competitors. I would recommend them to anyone!

Jeff made a site visit, identified the issues & provided recommendations. He gento do the job was provided promptly, with an option to consider. Accepted the proposal & the crew showed up on schedule. While on-site the crew lead identified an issue with the walkway & discussed some options with me. Quick call to the office & authorized a small change order to resolve the problem uncovered during demolition work. Crew worked consistently & professionally and cleaned up very well when they finished the job. On-site for 2 days total. We have another project in mind & will absolutely consider using Mottern for that job.

Mottern Masonry poured a stamped concrete patio for us and did a fantastic job. They showed up on time to provide the estimate and the estimate was provided right away. There was no need for them to leave and provide later which many other companies said they would do, but never responded. They knew exactly what they were doing and did it all in a timely manner. The final bill was exactly what they quoted and we would definitely use them again in the future.
