We had a good experience working with Jeff Mottern and his crew. They demolished the old stoop, poured concrete base, and laid bluestone on it. Looks beautiful!

Mottern did an excellent job constructing a practice facility for Track and Field athletes. Specific requirements were needed for this job and all were met. Mottern has the flexibility to work within the constraints of school rules and regulations to quickly get the job done.

Job was completed as requested. The crew worked so hard and quickly to put in a 300 sq ft patio addition. Jeff's recommendation to continue the use of stone was correct and the best match for the existing patio. They were able to make the new patio drain correctly working with the old patio problems. The crew are experts in stone only cutting one piece for the entire job which eased our minds about contamination of our fish pond. The kept the work site clean and orderly. Also completed was fixing the yard drainage problem. They took no shortcuts and we are very satisfied. I would definitely have them do work for us again.

The crews made quick work of demolishing the old patio one day one. On day two, they added gravel, compacted it down, built the forms, and poured the concrete. In the next few days, they added large decorative Flagstone over the concrete, and finally cleaned up. The work was done quickly, and it looks great.

The work was done on time, at the price quoted. The results were professional, and the cleaning following installation of concrete and brick was outstanding.

Very pleased with the cost, schedule, and work on my project. The rep gave me a very detailed description of the work that would be done, and pointed out that they would have to put in a form to pour the concrete in, and this might leave a gap along the driveway. I really appreciated being told about that and other minor issues that would otherwise have been surprises to me. The crew was on time, did a great job with the work, and cleaned up very thoroughly. I would definitely hire Mottern Masonry again.

Very well. My second job with them. Really takes my backyard to the next level. My first job was just a concrete step but it was mid December and everything is still perfect 2 years later. They have the right tools to deal with concrete work in the winter.

The old slab was removed and new concrete poured in one day. A few days later, workers returned to remove the framing. The job and clean-up was very neatly done. Price was competitive with other bids.

My experience with Mottern was excellent. Jeff and his team were very professional, they were straightforward in approach when working scope and price, and they delivered what they promised in the timeframe they promised. We are really pleased with how easy it was to work with a Jeff and his team. He was on time to see our yard and front stairs, discussed the various potential options with me in depth, and provided an written quote with a detailed description of the agreed upon plan. Jeff’s team was out on some of the hottest days of the summer and worked hard. They completed all the planned elements - demo stairs, remove existing rotten wood retaining wall, followed by pouring new stairs, resurfacing the top landing, building a new retaining wall and regrading the front yard to that wall. The guys also made adjustments to accommodate our new sump pump line (which didn’t end up where basement guys indicated....). Our yard looks great and I sat in my car to watch the first big rain run away from the house. The steps are fantastic - we needed an extra step added to adjust for 50 years of settling and poor design at construction. I was really impressed with the effort the guys put into ensuring the forms were level and the concrete has a finished surface. We’ve dealt with a lot house maintenance drama this year and Jeff and his team were by far the best company we’ve dealt with. My neighbors also noticed how hard the team worked and complemented them and the results - it looks so much better than many of the other stair repairs in the development.

He was very knowledgeable about what ideas of ours would work, and which ones were not feasible - then he worked with us to come up with a design. The installation went very well - Jeff's crew was very experienced and was willing to make adjustments we asked for as the work progressed. I would definitely use them again.
