It looks fabulous, they did an excellent job. Their customer service was great and the staff was very professional. We are very satisfied with the work they did. I would definitely refer them to anyone who is needing window replacement or installation.

First of all, when Mark arrived, we asked for an additional estimate to replace some windows which had suffered some seal failure. Instead of Mark thinking of us a suckers and tell us we had to replace the windows, he instead put us in contact with the manufacturer of the windows where they were replaced under warranty. His actions immediately gained our trust and we sealed the deal then and there! The staff arrived on-time. They were very professional and got right to work. We forgot to get plastic to block off the cold air during the process of them replacing the door. They were kind enough to provide plastic to tape up. They did a fantastic job. The door is beautiful and more importantly, it blocks the cold!!!! They applied plaster around the edges which were slightly damaged during the door replacement. This is quite expected with an old home. The trim and everything was done professionally and perfectly. I highly recommend Mark and his staff. I don't think you'll beat their price.

They arrived on time and did an outstanding job. Carefully took out existing relatively new windows so that I could donate them Cut the opening carefully so as not to disturb inside moulding and panels. Asked questions with installation to be sure the height I wanted over the deck. Fit door perfectly and trimmed inside with moulding which they painted. On exterior they had carefully removed affected siding and then cut and replaced it with a white trim around the door. Cleaned up. The door they recommended was of high quality with a pet resistant screen and internal blinds.

From start to finish, Home Exteriors were phenomenal to work with, including when we ran into unforeseen complications. We requested a quote from Home Exteriors for an Energy Star entry and screen door after receiving two other quotes (first vendor was too pricey, second vendor never sent a proposal as promised). The response time was fast and we met with the owner, Mark Horner, a few days later. Unlike our experience with the previous estimates, there was no "dog and pony show", no elaborate sales pitch, and no pressure to make a decision on the spot. We told Mark what we were looking for and he presented us with products to meet our needs. His price was below the others AND he offered a solution to a siding problem for a bay window that we thought was unsolvable (he gave a great price for that, too). After a few days of consideration, we decided to move forward. Mark came out again a few days later to finalize details and provide the contract. The doors were ordered and the installation was scheduled a few weeks later (Home Exteriors already had the siding in stock). When the Home Exteriors team arrived for the installation, they discovered that the screen door could not be installed due to how our soffit had been installed by the previous owner. We were left with the options of not installing the screen door at all (Mark kept to his "no upcharge guarantee" and offered to deduct the screen door cost from our invoice) or completely re-doing the soffit and gutters so that the screen door could fit. We were provided time to consider the options, with no pressure one way or another. Since the screen door was important to us, we opted for the solution that involved reconfiguring the soffit to allow the screen door installation. It added an additional cost to the project, but Mark offered the solution at a fraction of the cost of the materials and labor. The Home Exteriors guys came out again and reconfigured the soffit with a high-quality product and installed the screen door and siding as originally contracted. A few days later - when we were not even home - the Home Exteriors team came out again and installed new gutters (the old ones were removed for the soffit overhaul). The level of service from Home Exteriors is unparalleled. I wish every home improvement contractor was this responsive, this attentive, and this focused on quality as Home Exteriors. Mark told us in the beginning that he aims to meet his customers needs and keep them satisfied, and he surely made us his biggest fans. I cannot recommend Home Exteriors highly enough. You will not go wrong by going with this business.

They did a fabulous job. They were neat and clean. Everything was on time. They were friendly, and they gave us a great price. The caulking on the windows in the back were moldy and mildewy. The product I used dripped on the siding and stained it. He then called the company, and had them come out and replace it for free. Not only did they replace it for free, but he had his worker come out and take the old off, and put the new on. They completely went above and beyond to make us happy. I plan to have them back to replace our roof. They have my business!

They were pretty good, he's very professional unlike the others I interviewed, they wanted to have my husband there and I said I make all the decisions, and his price was very fair and he delivered a good job and I'm using them again for my sliding door.

The top qualities we look for in a contractor for any services performed are trust, integrity, and quality of work and product. With Mark we've been able to get all of the above. From the time we called him, he was prompt in scheduling the appointment. He was on time and when he arrived, he gave us a detailed description of the windows we would be getting. The windows arrived within a few days, and his installers were here the next day and did a great job installing the windows and cleaning up after themselves. Here's the most important part of the story: Some windows had rotten wood on the window sill. Mark's carpenter came by and fixed this prior to capping the windows. Mark's direct quote: "I never cap rotten wood." A homeowner may never know if a contractor is performing quality work as a contractor knows his craft better than we do. But when we work with Mark we are always assured that he will treat his customers as though he was installing windows at his own house.

We were very happy with the process starting with the estimate we received. The company owner comes to your house and provides a low key and low pressure presentation. Because of Homeowner Association rules, we had few choices as to type of windows or features, but we received good information and advice on those things that we could choose. We were very pleased with the estimate and, in fact, needed an explanation as to why the estimate was significantly less than others we had receive. 8 ft sliding glass doors are very expensive, but this was where we saved the most by choosing Home Exteriors as out contractor. It took a bit longer than we expected for out windows to be built, but it was the Christmas holiday season and we heard the window company in Pittsburgh may have closed for a few days between Christmas and New Year's. That was fine with us as we were not in any hurry and were traveling. When installation day arrived, there must have been six or seven workers who arrived by 8:00 AM and finished by 3:00 in the afternoon. They obviously had a plan and each worker knew what they were expected to do. At one point I there was a worker or workers in each of the rooms where windows or doors were being installed. I was impressed with how they worked together. The job was well done in a very efficient manner. They left the house as they found it and we did not need to do any extra clean-up. The windows looked great. We plan to have the company come and give us an estimate for replacing some wooden siding and trim. Overall, I was very happy with our window experience.

Mark conferred with me for 20 minutes about the complexities of our project and the pro's and con's of using a door/window company versus a carpenter to do the work - even though we both determined in the first 5 minutes that his company was not what I was looking for. I was really impressed and grateful for his candor and his knowledge of this type of job and the market in which I was trying to hire a contractor. He gave me solid guidance, when he could have said "goodbye" and used his time for other things after the first few minutes.

I requested several estimates via Angies List for this job and Mark was the first to return my request. We spoke on the phone for a good 30min as I was describing the job to him, the brick/block construction and exactly what I wanted to do. He was able to estimate a price for me over the phone based upon my description...and was pretty confident in that price. This came as a (pleasant) surprise to me, and it turns out his phone-based priced was right along with the others nothing changed when he came out for a visit ahead of the install. Prior to the install I swung by their office in Vienna to sign the contract and put down a deposit. Unlike many, I read contracts and notes in great detail before signing them. In this case, it's a good thing. Through the shuffle of communication, someone had written down the incorrect door on my order form (1/2 light vs. 3/4 light). I was actually very lucky to notice this, b/c it was in cursive handwriting on the notes section of the order form. Had the wrong door arrived, this would've been a sticky situation. Disaster averted. The install team arrived promptly and got to work. In addition to the communication snafu on the door type, there seems to have been a miscommunication on what the installers could expect upon their arrival. They seemed surprised at the brick/block construction of the wall, though this had been discussed at length ahead of time both over the phone and in person when Mark visited. This didn't turn out to be a big deal as the guys got the job done, it just took them longer than they expected and there seem to be some general grumbling. This and the incorrect door issue caused me to knock their professionalism grade down to a "B". As for the work, though, my new door is excellent. As I said the installers arrived promptly and despite being in for more than they bargained for, they did a great job and busted their tails into the evening hours to get the job done. The new door and transom is absolutely perfect. They did a great job on the trim work, the door opens and closes flawlessly, and the transom is gorgeous. While HEEC came in a tad higher on price than a couple others, the quality of their craftsmanship and Mark's responsiveness made it well worth it. I would gladly do business with them again.

The work was completed on time, and the results are excellent. I would suggest being available to talk with each team when they arrive to ensure their planned work includes everything in the Contract.

I met with Mark Hornes, owner, and on his advice, selected a patio door. The installer arrived on time and removed my old door and completed the job in a couple of hours. They were courteous and answered all my questions. Am very satisfied.

He was very pleasant and nice to deal with. He wasn't the best but he was good. They were very, very good. I don't think I would use them in the future.

different crews on different days - doors, siding.trim, gutters. Best to have a responsible person home in case they need something such as where is outdoor electrical socket. They worked weekend, snow and into the dark.

We initially received an estimate from owner Mark Horner along with specific information about the ProVia door and his company. Mark was friendly, honest, and fair. After receiving additional estimates from other companies, we chose Mark Horner and Home Exteriors Energy Consultants Inc to replace our front door, and we are extremely pleased with both the ProVia door and Home Exteriors Energy Consultants Inc. The installation crew arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently to remove the old door and install the new ProVia door, and left the work area clean of debris. They were attentive to every detail to ensure the door functioned perfectly and looked great.

This was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The owner of the firm, Mark Horner, personally met with us and guided us through all options for a high-quality entry door. He was very honest about the products and service he offered, and could explain the costs involved easily. Based on his presentation and the established reputation of the company we chose Home Exteriors Energy Consultants and are very happy we did so. The installation was done exactly when promised and the quality of the work was superb; it was very encouraging to see the attention to detail and finishing paid by the installer. Whenever we have any projects involving windows, doors, roof, etc in the future, we plan to turn to Mark. In fact, we have a proposed balcony project we would like to pursue right now, and we are asking Home Exteriors to do the work once more. Great company.

The owner was accommodating with the billing and estimates. The guys who did the work did a great job.

The job was done in one day and the one room that is very cold is still cold but it may be a lack of wall insulation ...however one window in that room was 1 inch too narrow. They calked around the window to fill in the space...but that wall is very cold.

Very professional from start to finish. The door looks wonderful. The installers arrived exactly on time and finished in a few hours.

They were very responsive, quick feedback and easy to get a hold of. We ended up not going with them, but it was a hard decision between them and another company.

I contacted Home Energy Consultants as well as several others and let them all know up front that I was looking to spend around $1500.00. Out of 5 companies, two came to see me in person. The first talked about painting a door of lesser quality to match my home requirements. They were in fact cheaper, bu fort only a little more than what I had hoped to spend, Home Energy Consultants were able to provide two color door (inside white, outside brown) that's Energystar approved and qualifies for a tax credit.

The experience was excellent. They came and were very clean and competent. I don't have any complaints and their service was as advertised. One of the reasons we used them was that they could do the entire job and we would not have to hire other subcontractors. I will use them again in the future.

Mark and his crew did a great job, and we plan on using him again for other projects.

This company delivers quality products and service. The removal of our old entry door system and installation of the new entry door system was completed in four hours. The crew was efficient and professional. The finished product looks great and the crew did a super job on both the installation and the clean-up. We would definitely use this company again. We really liked the personal contact with the owner of the company. He knows his products and does not try to rush you in to buying.

It went very well. The installers are professional and take care to clean up after themselves. Do check the estimate to be sure that you have the correct count for the number of windows. One was missed in the initial survey. This did not present a problem however, as it was quickly rectified with no delay of our installation. The windows operate effortlessly. The exterior of our house is beautiful.
