FINN'S POOL AND SPA SVC

It was a great experience working with Finns pool service. They were very professional in closing our pool this winter and everything was planned and executed smoothly. I highly recommend them for all pool services in the DC area.

Finn's has been servicing our pool for 25 years. The crew shows up timely, knowledgeably solves the issue, handles their tasks efficiently and always cleans up afterwards. Reliable and reasonable. Would I hire them again? I continue to do so.

Horrible. Sean frightened me to the point where I hesitated posting this review. So rather than write out each and every detail of what transpired with our situation, I'll just leave it to say that for quite a long time Finn's did the service at our pool. There were countless issues and delays but the worst was when I needed them to work closely with another contractor/vendor and not only was he rude and unwilling to help me, it ended up costing me several thousands of dollars. I would never in a million years recommend his company or his team. There are countless pool companies, so do your research!

I had a noisy pool pump and motor failing and was concerned it would be a real issue going out when I was at work during the week. I contacted Finn's late on a Saturday afternoon leaving a message with the answering service. Sean returned my call within hours that day. I explained the problem and he told me he could stop by early next week. On early Monday morning Sean was at the house assessing the situation. I wanted the pump, motor, and filters system to be working like new. We made a fair cost projection and he said it may be a couple of days. On Tuesday morning the next day Finn's had crews at the house with all the new equipment and performed the work within 2 hours. I now have a properly working system that is quiet. Finn's has the professional knowledge and was not trying to over sell me on anything. Finn's just did what's right. I am totally impressed with the response and installation. I would recommend and use Finn's again in the future.

Excellent. After numerous pool service/repair providers attempting this repair and also providing pool maintenance services, Finn's has been a breath of fresh air. They are professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and extremely responsive. Escalation to the owner happens as needed and regularly, and communication has been very good.

We were having trouble with previous company that opened/closed pool. Contacted Finn's and decided to use their services this year. A week after the pool was open and working the cover quit working. He came out on the weekend to repair the cover so we could use the pool. They have continued to do a great job servicing the pool this summer. Very pleased we made a change.

I have used Finn's pool and spa to open maintain and close my pool for several years. Three years ago they changed out two drain covers in my in-ground pool, ostensibly to comply with a change in the VA state code. As it turned out, this was not necessary since the code change did not apply to older pools. However, in the course of putting in one of the new drain covers Finn's inadvertedly cracked the pool shell which, yes, turned into a slow leak. While it took Finn's a full year to figure out the location of the leak -- thereby taking the pool out of service for an entire summer -- they proceeded to bill me for the time and effort consumed in identifying and correcting damage they caused in the first place. I know this because I eventually hired another (Angies List) pool service company to diagnose the problem with the pool and how the leak should be fixed. After explaing all of this to Finn's, they eventually fixed the leak they caused in the course of replacing the drain cover but refused to accept any responsibility, or adjust what they think they were owed for dealing with the problem. I regret not replacing Finns with the other (Angies List) pool service company that quite correctly diagnosed the problem. I did not do so because I had deat with Finn's for some time and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. That proved to be a huge mistake. I do not believe that Finn's Pool and Spa is dishonest, just grossly incompetent.

I chose Finn's because the pricing for a new Loop-Loc cover was fair, though not the lowest price quoted, and because the owner spent a lot of time explaining the benefits of this type of cover, how it would be installed, etc., and seemed very knowledgeable. When he arrived to install the cover, he asked me for an additional $100 to cover the cost of a drill bit he bought to and quot;do the job rightand quot; and lower the risk of breaking any of my deck pavers. I assumed the job was already going to be done right, but wasn't about to make an issue over $100 and risk them taking shortcuts, so I agreed to the additional charge. The owner clearly knows his stuff, and did most of the work himself, despite having several helpers with him. They primarily sat around and watched, which made me wonder whether they knew much themselves. Be aware that the owner doesn't take calls during the day, but rather responds to messages at night. I chose not to use them for maintenance services as a result of the experience.

The experience has been great! I was impressed with the quality of the work, you get what you pay for, but especially the actions (not just words) of commitment to customer service and satisfaction. This is a reliable company with which to do business. Highly recommended!!

They put the pool and said it is fine and perfect, but, their pool service is not good. I was not happy with their last visit too; they never got the chemical for it. We were able to swim in it, but, I wasn't happy with their service at all. However, building of the pool was okay.

I have used this company for over six years. They are knowledgeable and reliable. Shawn is responsive to my phone calls and works with my schedule. I have always been satisfied with their work.

I think they are very knowledgeable. For the opening he was not quite on time but he has so many people that he needs to help. He is professional. They are really really good. If I call them, he calls right back.
