When I came into the store this afternoon I was treated as an inconvenience, asked for 'the good one' and told I should just give it away to somebody after the man helping me didn't take the time to seriously look at most of my collection after gesturing to a foreign coin box on the floor. This was after I had sent in a list in advance to avoid such a scenario When leaving I was given a list of items the shop looks for and when I mentioned having stamps the man helping me pretty much said it wouldn't be worth my time, which leaves me to wonder what their time is really worth I came to the shop expecting professionals and maybe someone who could help me identify items in my collection and help me place value and I was disappointed to say the least.

These are fine people who are honest and sincere. They work with you to meet your requirements so you both feel like the truncations are "Win/Win." It is good to know you have received the best product at the best price.

Service is always friendly and prices are always negotiable. The owner is a very fine gentleman. I wish only that his son also had the same characteristics. Maybe he will grow up to understand that service is about the people you meet, not the product you sell.

John and his crew at Cameo Coins and Collectables graciously provided information on their services over the phone and described in detail how the process of selling gold, jewelry and coins for cash works. When I arrived, it was late in their work day but they told me that they would be happy to complete my transaction without the need for my return. I watched as they reviewed the items that I wanted to sell... nothing was taken into a backroom or away from my sight during the appraisal process. I had researched prices for the precious metals that I brought in and John beat those rates. He advised me on items that may have better value at a different venue (for instance, an antique gold watch brought more as a watch from a watchmaker than did the gold that it contained.) John helped me get the maximum value for all the items that I was selling. For coins, he gave me the best price available (the better of presious metal or based on the rarity of the coin.) I came away that afternoon with a check for the full value of what I brought in for appraisal (it was quite a bit more than I expected. A few days later, I received another check! As promised, a careful review of the coins was conducted and, based on the condition and rarety of some of the coins, I received an additional payment when the collectible/retail price was greater than that originally paid. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAMEO COINS and COLLECTIBLES. They are honest, knowledgeable and friendly. They take the time to explain the details for the transaction. I will definitely return to Cameo Coins and Collectables.

We went into Cameo Coins looking for a an eternity wedding band. They had a nice selection of estate jewelry. I was suprised to find something in my size that I liked, being that eternity bands cannot be re-sized. We also showed them a diamond pendant and gold necklace that we had inherited after my husband's father passed away. We had had it appraised already, and we were looking to possible use it in exchange for something. They looked at it, and along with noting the defects that they previous jeweler had noted, they also said that there were two chips on one of the diamonds. This was not on the appraisal form. So they were even more detailed with their quick inspection, than an appraisal that I had paid almost $100 for! Suffice it to say, they told us that because of the lack of clarity, and the chips, that the diamonds weren't worth much, and to give it instead to my mother. (She's been eyeing since we inherited it!!! LOL) So, we are going to do that, and it will make her day. They did allow us to give them the gold necklace as part payment for the ring that I liked. They also tested the diamonds on the estate piece I was interested in, with a tester, and also tested the metal to make sure it was gold. They showed us all of this as well. We discussed price, and I believe they gave us a very nice ring for a very good price. Similar ring styles and carat total weights were approximately 50% to 100% more in other stores I had checked and also on-line. However, with all estate jewelry, without an appraisal, you are never exactly certain of what you're getting. But we totally trusted them, and got a very good feeling throughout our conversations about diamonds and rings with them. They have been in business for many years, and are family run. We like supporting local, family businesses. They were never, ever pressuring us, we even had to ask to please see the ring. They also were not suspiciously overly friendly, you know, how some jewelry salesmen can make you feel. We felt very confident buying my ring from them, and knowing that they are honest, and have a high degree of integrity. All in all, it was a great experience. I am thrilled with my ring. I love estate jewelry, and this place is a find for me, and I will keep coming back. They also had a significant portion of their store devoted to coins, and my husband was very interested in speaking with them more about items he has. Overall, a and quot;gemand quot; of a place!!
