This team of Realtors is the tops. From day one they became involved with my property and its special set of circumstances. Both Sarah and Anne arranged to get the house cleared of debris, have repairs made, and then arranged for a probate lawyer so I could sell the property free and clear. I gave these guys an awful lot of work to do, most realtors would of run away, these guys embraced it, they kept on top of the job until it was done, we closed escrow in less than a month and I got a better price than I had hoped for, the transaction was smooth and painless. I would tell anyone who has a house to sell that this team is where to start, in the past I have dealt with realtors in New York and California, the realtors in the other cities could learn a lot from these guys, give them a try you will be glad you did. I should explain that this team is so far above the others I had dealt with because they treated the sale as if they were selling their own property, it was not just business with them it was personal, I really was inspired by the help they gave me and the fact they were there whenever I needed their help. Anne sat down with us first and listened very attentively to hear exactly what our criteria was (even though it was somewhat conflicting between my wife who loves more urban areas and myself who enjoys rural living). Her bi-weekly MRIS listings were helpful in us narrowing down our search before we even left home, but her professionalism and insight helped us really select the homes we NEEDED. She helped us in finding a home that is commutable for both my job (by car) and my wife (by public transportation) and still was in a really good school district with local after care programs that are excellent. When she wasn't available, her agent/daughter Sarah was there for us. Essentially, there were zero gaps from when we wanted to view homes to when we could view homes. Anne's counsel through the entire home buying process from initial meeting to closing and beyond was that of a true seasoned professional. Sarah was quite instrumental in helping us with the home inspection and closing process as well. We would definitely call on her team again for our Virginia real estate needs. Lovely!

Ms. Harrington was extremely diligent and honest in providing appropriate homes to research given specific guidelines. In my experience over the years, she and her mother have a solid understanding of foreign service client needs in their house searches, including critical time constraints which require condensed scheduling and location constraints. I have assisted friends in finding homes, and have also been assisted in purchasing our own home in locations with great schools, great locations, and affordable options with the Harringtons. Anne and Sarah were professional and responsive throughout. Initially they took time to explain in detail the approach that they take to support their clients, especially clients who have not sold a home before. They walked through the necessary agreements step by step so we would be comfortable and informed. Despite many challenges outside their control (three townhomes in our street went on the market the same week!), they were confident and capable through each situation and identified strategies for us to attract interested buyers effectively. I would highly recommend them, especially if interested in homes in Fairfax, Oakton, Falls Church, Vienna, and nearby communities, as they are extremely knowledgeable about the homes and neighborhoods and the market values in each area. They were able to effectively communicate progress and worked seamlessly as a team to stay in touch with us on both the selling of our old home, and buying of the new one.

Selling a home can be so stressful -- and it takes a great deal of patience to walk the unaccustomed through this potentially terrifying ordeal. It takes another type of agent entirely who will do all that AND be kind, gracious, polite, gentle, humorous and ethical. Sarah and Anne were there for us every step of the way. In many ways, the things they did went way beyond the call of duty -- and right in to the category of helping a client who has bitten off more than he can chew -- and all the while working under an incredible deadline. Some of the things they helped with are frankly, just too embarrassing for me to mention and maintain any dignity. Plus, I'd never again subject these fine business women to the things they helped me with. I was not the ideal client, and they never batted an eye. They priced our home right the first time. They told us what to do to ready it for market. They gave us their contacts for getting the necessary work done -- and getting the house staged. It sold in an extremely timely fashion at top dollar -- and we are forever in their debt.

We used Anne and Sarah for the sale of our Vienna home. They advised us on what changes to make to get the best purchase price. We followed their recommendation for staging and home repairs. Our house sold for well over our asking price in 24 hours. Anne also assisted us in finding our next home. Her advice and negotiations saved us thousands. The residential real estate business can be difficult. Anne and Sarah possess the experience, skill and, most importantly, wisdom necessary to work through sensitive issues. I interviewed the Harringtons on September 14, and by September 24 they had brought me two offers on my house. Both Anne and Sarah are experts at making property look its best and determining the right listing price,Their advice about making a few repairs and updates and de-cluttering where needed was "spot on" and they put me in touch with a contractor who was able to do the work in record time. By the end of the day of the open house, I had received two offers. As well as being very good at their jobs, both Harrington ladies are charming and delightful to work with.

I have used Sarah and Anne as my real estate agents for two homes I have "flipped" using them as both my buying agents as well as my selling agents. I can't recommend them enough for their "above and beyond" service. On the buying side, they worked tirelessly through the long and complicated process of a short sale for my first house. When the deal looked like it was going to fall through after a few months, they were able to negotiate a resolution that was acceptable to the seller, the bank, the selling agent and to us. I'm positive the deal would have fallen through if not for their diligence and compromising approach. On the selling side, they helped me from the very beginning by helping me prioritize which renovations would have positive returns on investment given the most likely buyer demographic as well as recommending a slew of service professionals who they have long standing relationships and, therefore, provide services at extremely reasonable prices. Sarah and Anne are extremely knowledgeable in the Northern Virginia real estate market and helped me decide on a realistic but profitable price. They actively marketed the homes, generating a lot of interest prior to the first open house. Both homes received multiple offers in the first week. Things didn't always go smoothly on the path to settlement and it was during those times when I appreciated Sarah's and Anne's knowledge and perseverance the most. When one contract fell through because the buyers had not disclosed loans on the application, Sarah and Anne marketed the house again, contacted the agents of previously interested buyers, and held another open house right away generating a couple of offers immediately. There were more stumbling blocks along the way...appraisal issues, inspection items, etc. However, Sarah and Anne handled everything diplomatically and in a method geared towards providing a "win/win" situation for all parties involved. I recommend Sarah and Anne to anyone I know looking for an excellent real estate agent...and everyone who uses them thanks me profusely for doing so because they agree that Sarah and Anne provide an unsurpassed level of service every step of the way.

Two years ago my wife and I started to think about selling our house and I began to attend Open Houses to see how realtors interacted with potential buyers. I also learned that while most realtors have multiple listings only Anne and Sarah would hire personal so several of their clients could haveman Open House at the same time. The evidence in my neighborhood shows that Anne and Sarah houses sell in the shortest period of time and the reason is the attention they devote to their clients. I think my daughter summed it up best by saying Anne and Sarah help people. You cannot go wrong by hiring Anne and Sarah as your realtor.

First of all, this mother / daughter team are very bright and very experienced. Sarah joined Anne, her mother's very successful real estate practice through Long and Foster about five years ago. She holds a BA from UVA and a MBA from GW. Her mother was already a 10 year, mulit-million dollar veteran in real estate when Sarah joined her team. The first transaction was in 2005 when I moved my parents from North Carolina to Northern Virginia to be closer to them and act as their care giver when the time came. This was a tricky transaction because I was buying the house for them with a power of attorney. There were numerous consideration including a home in a safe neighborhood, a floor plan that accomodated the elderly and a price that was within their budget as retirees with limited assets. Sarah and Anne found the home and it was perfect. Located in the Ruford neighborhood on a court, quite with very nice neighbors. The slit level house had five bedrooms and was a level yard allowing access without hills or stairs. The garage entered into the property through the kitchen with only one stair step. The levels contained no more than six steps to get up to the bedrooms or down to the den/laundry. The price was affordable even though my parents were moving to a much high cost of living area from Wilson, NC. We executed a contract while my parents were traveling on their final big trip to Italy and I listed their house during this time too. My mother never saw the property until the moving van pulled up to deliver her furniture. This house was her favorite house she has ever lived in and they have been happy here since that purchase. The neighbod showered them with invitations, neighborly support and overall welcome arms. It was and remains to be a special place for her and was for my father too before passing away two years ago. Sarah and Anne also sold my home in Mantua in 2008 and helped me buy another home in the same neighborhood that was also tricky because the sale was by owner. Two years later, my father passed away, I rented my house out to move in with my mother to provide care and company and they rented my house short term and now long term 4 times. The attention we get is unbelievable. From negotiations to making sure the renters are top knotch. Assuring everything is coordinated with repairs and tenats are solid and happy. It has been a trusted and very positive experience overall.
