The absolute WORST home rental experience we've ever had. On move-in, EVERY window, the screens were either broken, torn, or missing altogether, they outright refused to cover the cost for replacements. There were no sealed walls in the bathroom, and so we had a significant issue with infestations, something we've never had before. They used the wrong type of paint in the bathroom, so we constantly had to clean off mold. At lease signing, the owner of Realty 1 assured us that the rotting wood porch would be repaired, it never was. The hand railing on the porch stairs will break off if someone falls and needs to catch them self on it. The wood flooring has splinters in it, the stain is gone in some places, and they speak as if they expect that we will put in our own money and labor into refinishing it. Every phone call or text message we send to our building manager goes unanswered for weeks at a time, and when we call to check the status of getting anything done, our phone call is sent to voicemail after one or two rings. A few months into the lease, I (female) came home to what should have been an empty house. The door was wide open, and I assume there's been a break in. (Ready to shoot whoever is there...) I walk in to see the building manager in the kitchen writing us a note.
