Michael & Son's Plumbing

This was a dirty job. Plumber had to crawl into a crawlspace under the house. He was very professional. Job was completed in a timely manner. Cleanup was excellent. All tests were completed and passed. Reviewed everything with homeowner. Sent pictures of work once completed. Very pleased.

CONSUMER BEWARE: Go elsewhere off-the-bat if you need furnace repair or replacement! Frauds!!! Demetrius was sent out ~ very nice and well-spoken over the phone ~ who, because I was a landlord IN LOS ANGELES requesting service at my Spring Valley, DC property (on behalf of my tenants who suddenly “had no heat” in the middle of SNOW) came out and determined not only did I need a new furnace, but somehow I later learned, he thought I needed a new chimney casing, and something else entirely...WHEN he didn’t go anywhere near the 1st floor fireplace much less the chimney. He was called out to address the furnace...NOTHING ELSE! He was adding up all these nonsense charges, then telling me on the phone “long distance” these 3 choices I had of “prices to replace the furnace” were in the $6,000+ range (that one was the lowest). I mentioned this over the phone to my plumber who was servicing an upstairs bathroom at the time...as well as Michael & Son’s “lowest $6000+“ bid. HE was SHOCKED, saying it sounded like it was about $2000 over what it should be. He suggested I call out Congressional Heating, which I did, for at least “fair pricing.” He was right. I was treated with respect, professionalism, and a fair price...$2000 less than Michael & Son had said it would cost...and they came out the next day, in the snow, and did the job. Yea, my tenants were then warm and happy. This should have been done and finished with...but no! Michael & Son started billing my credit card for services not provided...in the thousands of dollars!!! 😲. Even their billing dept. didn’t know what these amounts were...admitting they shouldn’t be being billed! It’s taken 6 weeks of dealing with my credit card’s fraud and dispute dept. going back and forth with Michael & Son to get the huge charge off my bill (for work never done). And now, I am left paying Michael & Sons’ $109 “come out to your door” charge! I don’t normally don’t do or take the time to do “negative reviews”, but in this case... I myself would want to be “warned” to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Call Congressional instead for professionalism, honest service, and fair pricing!

The price was a little high. It's a little pricey. I know it was a little expensive for what needed to be done. That's the thing. It wasn't best in price. It was a little pricey. The part that needed to be fixed, my mother was charged like around $200 for it. And all that needed to be fixed was the thing that was attached to the toilet that the water came out of - you know, the water connection to the toilet. Yeah - it was kind of pricey. For that, that should've been like $50-$100. But, it might have been a little more because the guy was coming from up further than usual. Because I think the closest is Richmond - I'm not sure, but they came down here. No actually, they came do down her .... I don't know. This guy was very good. I mean it took him less than 20 minutes to get it done. Yeah, like it was 20 minutes - he was in here and done. This guy knew what he was doing.

The job was completed and pipes are working fine now. However, the wooden threshold at the front door was chipped when the machine was brought into the house.

i was supposed to have a courtesy inspection from a local home show. when the rep came to my house and completed the inspection, there was a $69.00 charge for this. once the tech left I called them about the charge, once they verified with the rep from the show, they apologized and said they would credit back my CC. ONE MONTH LATER I STILL DONT HAVE MY CREDIT! several calls and several promises later, nothing.

We are very pleased with the outstanding service and professionalism provided by Michael & Son. The two installers from Michael & Son, E. Bataa and B. Tugsjargal arrived prompty (even called ahead to ask if it would be convenient if they came a little early!) to install our new dishwasher purchased last week from Lowe's. Both of the young men were extremely competent and knowledgeable about installation issues and made the installation problem free, speedy and efficient. We could not be more pleased! We will definitely use Michael and Son for future plumbing installations....and plumbing issues.

They came out and did the work. I think it was overpriced and very expensive (almost $4000); it was a ridiculous price. The quality of the plumbing work was good but the only thing I dislike is that they didn't finish up the work. I had to find someone for the sheetrock and the walls. He said they don't do sheetrock and they don't put up the walls; they just destroy the walls and do the plumbing. With all that money, we thought they would also do the walls. We had work done on the tub, shower, and the sink but we also had a huge hole on both sides of the tub and the top needed sheetrock as well. He was very professional.
