Description of Work: Installed sump-pump. My only complaint is that the exhaust pipe does not extend far enough from the house, and therefore I have expelled water pooling on my front walk. I will probably correct this myself by adding an extension to the exhaust pipe. I guess this makes my overall satisfaction somewhere in the range of B+ to A-. I would add that the crew of three were excellent and left no mess or litter.

Description of Work: I had gotten three estimates on a foundation wall repair and Seal-Tite was much cheaper then there competitors using the same repair method. They did the repairs in one day without making any mess. The repairs were just done a few months ago, but as of now I would definitely recommend Seal-Tite to anyone needing foundation repairs.

Description of Work: System installed with years ago with2 a"lifetime guarantee". My basement has been getting wet and possibly moldy for about a year. I called to inquire about this and was told that the system had not failed- that this was impossible. However, if i wanted someone to come out to my house, there would be a substantial charge. Not exactly the guarantee i was promised when i spent $5000 on this bogus system.

Response from Seal-Tite Basement Waterproofing Co
The work was completed in 2005 not February 2014. The system was tested and inspected on July 16, 2014. The following is from the inspection report: It was found that the customer had a garden hose in the sump pump liner and it was around the pumps automatic float switch making it inoperable. After this was corrected, the system was tested with water/hose in various areas. The tests showed the system was working effectively. It was also observed that there were several cracks in the floor where water could be entering. Also there were stains on the walls where water at some time had been present and windows were not sealed. These three areas were not part of the initial system and are not covered by the warranty. The customer was advised of all the above.

My only disappointed was the sales rep said the office would call within a week to schedule the work. That was on 7/3/2012. I finally called the sales rep several weeks later when I had not heard from them. He said he would check and he did call me back within 24 hours and said they could not get to it until the last half of August. They eventually scheduled the work 9/4/2012, two months and a day after putting down the initial deposit of $600. The actual work was completed in one day and the indi9viduals doing the work were very pleasant. It appears the foundation is holding and the cracks in the CMU foundation blocks were closed up when the foundation was jacked back into a level position.

They did a wonderful job. They put up plastic barriers to keep the dust down, they put down plastic and an old rug on the floor and stairs to protect the carpet. The actual drilling only took less then the hour they estimated and the total job only took 1/2 a day. They also showed me (and fixed) a problem with my downspout in the area of the leak and extended the drain pipe for the sump pump at no extra cost. The people where pleasant, professional and I would definitely use them again (but hope I dont need to).

Mark called me back later that day and we scheduled him to come out and do the estimate the next morning. He was very responsive with questions I had regarding the work we need done. He didn't try to oversell us on the work. His estimate was reasonable. Due to scheduling reasons we chose to go with another company but would consider using them in the future.

We sign the agreement sometime in April, 2012 and Seal-tite could perform there job on June 4. Here comes June 4 and nobody show up, we waited and got a call from our realtor that Seal-tite would come on June 7, 2012. They came and busted our entire lower level baseboard and cut 2 tiles and then stopped and said that they couldn't performed seal our basement because of some foundation issue. My issue was we we're waiting for a month for them to do the job and couldn't do it. I think Seal-tite should do better than that. They waste our time and money.

Response from Seal-Tite Basement Waterproofing Co
We were contracted to do the job on the week of June 4th. We schedule the week of because we are one of only a few companies that won't leave a job until it is finished. Since we were working on another job we didn't know exactly when we would finish so made it clear we would be there on the week of June 4th. We were contracted to do the waterproofing from the inside and it wasn't until we got there and started doing the work that it was discovered that it was a monolithic slab. This is a very rare circumstance that sometimes can only be detected by going through the floor. It took several hours to detect this because the basement was such a mess including cat urine, feces and debris throughout. Upon discovering the monolithic slab, we offered to do the work from the outside but the customer decided to have another company perform the work. Even though we spent several hours moving items and working through the mess, we not only replaced the tile but gave the customer back the entire deposit on the job. We scheduled the job through the customers realtor and believe the communication between the realtor and his customer may not have been good. We believe the rating is unfair since the break down in communication was not with us but instead the customers realtor. Also, we spent several hours working in very poor conditions even going back to repair the tile and gave back the customers his entire deposit. We do wish them well and thankfully 99% of our thousands of customers over our 40 years in business are extremely satisfied with our work.

Mark came to our house and made a recommendation that was pretty similar to his competitors. Seal-Tite's bid came in significantly lower. All bidders were highly-rated and professional. We had some concerns about the terms of the contract, which Seal-Tite addressed to our satisfaction. The crew was great. Gus, the foreman, was terrific. He asked about every part of the job where he thought we might have a concern. It turns out our footer was several feet lower than anticipated, but Seal-Tite did the extra digging without question. They were careful about debris and the placement of excavated fill. The encapsulation was done first and by the time the rest of the project was done, the musty smell we had previously experienced was mostly gone. We could not have been more pleased with Seal-Tite's performance.
Description of Work: Seal-Tite performed two jobs. First, they encapsulated my crawl space. Then, they excavated two exterior walls, applied waterproofing material, and created a french drain.

We found water damage in our finished basement the end of September. After removing the wood paneling we found a crack in the foundation. We called up Seal-tite and they sent out Mark to give us an estimate. Mark spent a good deal of time informing us of our options which we really appreciated. He also gave us other tips that were not associated with what he could do as well as things to look for, which I thought was an added bonus. After getting some more estimates we realized that #1 their price was on the lower end of what we were hearing and #2 we were impressed with Mark's knowledge and sincerity. We listened to Mark's recommendation and decided to get a sump pump installed on the back wall of our house as well as a membrane along the entire wall to prevent more water damage. The workers arrived on time the day of installation and put down plastic from the doorway all the way into our basement. We were told it would only be a 1 day job and that's exactly what it was. The estimate from Mark was exactly what the final bill was, no added charges. I was very happy with the customer service and the work.

Seal-Tite's local representative/estimator, Mark Brandt, called and arranged to come to the house in a week. He arrived on time (in fact, an hour early after calling to see if that was alright). He gave a close inspection to the exterior and interior. He put a laser on the brick courses and noticed perhaps a one quarter inch drop from the back of the house to the front. He said the damage was very minor, not structural, with no iminent danger of worsening. He said to keep an eye on it and if it got worse Seal-tite could shore up the front corner of the house (with piers) for about $6000 to $7500. The estimate was free and eased my mind about the extent of the damage. Mark Brandt was very courteous and professional without pressuring me to agree to some product or service. If the crack does worsen, I will use Seal-Tite to make the necessary repairs.
Description of Work: I called Seal-Tite because after the August earthquake I noticed a crack in our exterior brick wall that I had not noticed before (not that I'm very observant. It could have been there prior to the quake.). I was concerned whether the crack was structural or merely cosmetic. The brick wall has an interior facing of cinder block in our garage and it has had small cracks for years that did not widen from the quake.

We had two contractors come to our home and look at the problem. Seal-tite was one and estimated the work at $2000. The other company estimated the work at $17,000 (which they later reduced to $9000). A third company (which also seemed reasonable) did an estimate over the phone for $1700). The Seal-tite sales person came and inspected the leak and found several issues that prevented some of the work from being done from the inside of the home; however, they still provided a 10-year guarantee for their work. The Seal-tite work crew drove from Roanoke VA (we live in Northern VA), showed up within 1/2 hr of the start time. Had a supervisor and two laborers. We're careful to keep the floors clean when they came inside to see the problem. SInce they did not need to be in the house during the day, we locked up the house and left for work (they were there at 7:30am). The Seal-tite supervisor called us at the end of the day to report on the work and came back the next morning with his crew to inspect the work site and test the fix.
Description of Work: Seal-tite inspected the leak in our basement, positively identified the problem (by pouring water outside the basement and seeing the water come into the house), gave us reasonable and rational alternatives to handle the special cases presented by our specific problem, told us what needed to be done to prep the area (move the A/C units -- they recommended A/C specialists do that work), scheduled the work with us at a specific time, showed up at that time, and performed the work outside the home. Came back the next day to inspect the work and test the leak again. No leak! The problem has been fixed now for about 2 weeks and in that time we have been getting drenched with rain and some snow. I am VERY satisfied with the work and experince we had with Seal-tite.

This company is top-notch! Other competitors will attempt to get their business by undercutting their bid just enough to make it look like a better bargain. There was no bargain in less-than quality work to our home. They went above and beyond what they signed on to do; which included working through rain and snow outside in Feb. It was obvious that they all worked well together to get the job done right. Every individual, whom we came in contact with--be it on the phone or here doing the work, was geniune in their desire to please. We really needed to be able to trust them--and the results-- after the horrible experience we had with the former company. The service & timeline was impeccable and we highly recommend!!!
Description of Work: Seal-Tite had to take apart a former repair done inadequately by another company and make proper repairs to our basement wall. They excavated the exterior wall down to the footer, put in a drain, rock, liner and an external sump pump, moved excess soil to other areas we requested it be placed on our property, regraded the area provided grass seed and straw. They placed an I beam across the top of the interior wall, ran 13 I beams down the wall, bolted them into the joist and into the footer, added an internal back-up sump pump, and patched all concrete holes. They provided other extra minor aspects of repair, which really added up to make such a big difference---basically whatever we asked, they found a way to make it happen.
