Rocks By David

David and his son-in-law were always punctual, professional and a delight to have around our house for the 3-month project. Their attention to detail was truly phenomenal. Each rock was selected and carved to fit a particular spot and angle. Following the initial driveway and house entry steps, we had David come back 2 years later to build a side yard patio with fire pit and a connecting walkway from the driveway. We would certainly engage their services again and recommend them highly.

I called Rocks by David on 1-16-13 to ask David if he performed work such as cutting a cement curb so that a gravel driveway could be used. David informed me that he was currently working on a project in the Tidewater, VA area. He said he would call me back in approximately 2 weeks and would be able to view the property @ that time and provide me with a free estimate to perform the work. David never called me back. I called him again last week (Jan. 31, 2013) and left a voice message and he still has not returned my phone call as of today, 2-4-13. There was a misunderstanding and there was also a storm in the Clifton Forge, VA area which delayed his return phone call to me. David did provide me with a free estimate and we did discuss the work I requested. I was looking for someone to put in a decorative concrete patio which would require taking down a fence, some excavation of a hill, installing a stone wall (to match an existing wall), along with the concrete. As I searched for a stone mason to work on the wall I received a ringing endorsement by a co-worker of Rocks by David. I called for an estimate which came in at a level not far from the cost of decorative concrete, but would have allowed the job to be "turnkey". David turned out to be an artisan with his selection and installation of stone. He works on one job at a time and goes above and beyond what you would require. He even re-mulched the portion of the yard that was messed up during the job, pressure washed the adjacent portion of the house, as well as the existing stone wall so the stones would match. I would say that of all my dealings with contractors, this was one of if not THE best. As my friend that recommended him to me said, "David is someone that I can unequivocally recommend" and I would totally agree. If he and his crew get your job, he will far surpass excellence in the work to the "it was a joy" experience!
