We are very happy with how our cabinets turned out! We hired The House Doctor after a general contractor messed up painting our cabinets, and we weren't sure if it was fixable. Not only did they fix our cabinets, they look professionally done. Richard and his team worked quickly, protected the surrounding area well and were friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend if you are thinking about refinishing your cabinets.

Prep was great. Contained dust from traveling to other areas of my home. closed off kitchen. Painted all cabinets to include doors, drawers and frames. Did such an excellent job painting cabinets they don't look painted. Cleaned up after themselves. Very professional I would Highly recommend this company. I hired Richard Atkins to paint my kitchen cabinets white and he did an excellent job. He is a perfectionist and pays very close attention to detail, is responsive, and was a pleasure to work with. Instead of bringing my cabinets back to my house on the day he was supposed to (a Saturday, giving himself Sunday off), he held them an extra day to make sure they were perfect. I would recommend him to anyone looking to have their cabinets painted.

I hired House Doctor (Richard Atkins) through Home Advisor last year to do a refinishing job for my kitchen cabinets in a house I just bought. The cabinets were original from its 1983 construction and were an ugly blonde color. The previous owners had installed new wood flooring and granite counter tops and they did not complement the cabinets at all so we had to get them done. Richard came over for an estimate a few weeks before the job and he is awesome! Very friendly and straightforward, I thought I knew what type of finish I wanted but he was able to provide me with an excellent recommendation as an alternative (Espresso) and I am glad we did that instead, he has a great eye! He also recommended adding crown molding to the cabinets which I am also very glad we did, made a huge difference! The job took one week and was done by Richard and his assistant Glen who is also a great guy and a very skilled worker. They did it while I was at work during the days and they treated my house with care and kept everything clean. The finished product is incredible, I am not sure how to post pictures on these reviews but if you talk to Richard, ask him to show you the before and after pictures for the house cabinets he did in Annandale in Oct. 2016. Richard is excellent with customer service, I was able to keep in touch with him through text message throughout the job and he was always very quick with his replies. The only small issue we had was a small crack in part of the crown molding that occurred after the wood had settled for a couple weeks, but it was no problem at all because Richard came right back over a few days after we noticed and he repaired it with no extra charge or hassle. Overall House Doctor is worth 5 stars all the way through, I highly recommend their cabinet work!

Richard did an amazing job on my Kitchen Cabinets. As in all projects there were some challenges, but none he could not deal with. On time, set expectations and delivered. I had some additional request and he was able to complete them. I was skeptical that it would look good without heavy brush marks. They look Brand New. They spray system he uses leaves a beautiful Furniture finish. There are not many that doe this work but Richard does it extremely well. If you are thinking about changing the look of your home without replacement Hire RIchard. Amazing Job

From start to finish this was a great experience. We priced many options to give our kitchen a fresh/new look and having our 20yr old cabinets cleaned and painted by Richard was by far the most reasonably priced option. Amazing refinishing of 22 year old kitchen cabinets. Went from old butterscotch oak to updated espresso oak. They look like brand new cabinets at a fraction of the price of new. Very impressed.

Richard is very meticulous. On the day he finished the project, he noticed two small touch ups. He went to his shop to complete the work and came back to my home the very same day (Sunday) to complete the install. I was 100% satisfied. My cabinets look brand new!
