This company tampered with my outdoor A/C unit without seeking my permission in order to replace a neighboring one. When we turned on the A/C in what had been my mother's condo for the first time in July this year, it wasn't working, and upon having it checked, it was found to have no Freon left in it. When examining the outside outside unit, I noticed that it was not in its original location, as clearly shown by the old drip line. Upon closer examination, I could see that the copper line had been spliced and a 6-inch piece added. The unit next to ours had been replaced with an enormous unit, as it turns out last August, by Roy Brooks. There would not have been sufficient room to put that monster in without moving my unit, so apparently they took it upon themselves to do so, without contacting me or asking my permission. They left the end of my unit hanging over the concrete and onto the grass. When I called them about this, they said they would look at it and get back to me, but they never did. I got confirmation from the owner that Roy Brooks had indeed done the work on the unit, so I called them back. Their story was that they couldn't tell which unit went to which condo, and they had accidentally cut the pipes to the wrong unit. Even if that were case, that would indicate incompetence and failure to do due diligence on their part, and they should have contacted me to let me know what had occurred. They flatly denied having moved my unit. However, I have before and after pictures which clearly show it had been moved about 6 inches, and there is no way they could have gotten the neighbor's new massive unit in there without moving mine. They obviously just chose to move it without notifying me, and then had the nerve to deny it. This is not a professional or ethical way to run a business. In fact, it is probably illegal. For them to have moved an older until and left it partially hanging off the concrete was bound to cause it some harm. They had no right to do this. Had I known at the the time, I would have pursued legal action against them. I would like others to know just how this company operates and avoid using them. No company that operates in this underhanded way should be allowed to stay in business.
