NANSEMOND LAWN & LANDSCAPING

On September 18th, they damaged our front entry way lights - the employee responsible ran over one light then backed up and ran over another - which is over 1 foot away from the grass / border - while laughing with a coworker...Then on September 30th they proceeded to run into our new BBQ that was on our patio resulting in damaged to the legs and bases of the BBQ. They also knocked over one of our patio oil lamps (that were a set of 2) - resulting with oil and glass everywhere. These employees Never had the decency to knock on our door or even tell their employer Nansemond Lawn about the damaged they did that day. We were given the names of Ashley or Ray to talk to about their employees - but when we did finally get thru Ms.Ashley pretended to never have heard anything about it - but in fact we know that is a lie for she had spoken directly with our landlord about the damage and also about another tenants damaged done that same day. Unfortunately this company has No regards to their customers who are paying for a service that should be done correctly as they would not like it if they had damaged done to their items. Finally after a month and a half - of phone tag run around and just plain didn't want to talk to us; Nansemond Lawn service claim they are NOT responsible for damaged caused by their employees. We sat down and have reviewed what this company has cost us over the past few years - its roughly been $50 just for the entry lights. Now we're facing the costs to replace the BBQ and another set of oil lamps; which can easily be $420+ and more entry lights. This company should be held to the responsibility of their customers - refund, replace the items their employees damage. On September 30, we have filed a police report on this company. Just a note to the wise - double think before hiring this company for your lawn care services.

I was calling them, trying to make an appointment to come and take a look to give me a price. I have a friend and he said that he used them in the past. He told me to give them a call. Every time he calls me he says, "Did they call you?" and I say, "No, they did not call me." I'm trying to give them business. Many times I asked to give me the name of the owner and they say, "Why do you want to speak to the owner?" Because maybe the owner does not know what is happening there. They never gave me a price. They don't respect the customer.

Having been in the Suffolk area less than a year, we had very little information regarding competent and reliable contractors. Relying on input from a friend, a neighbor, and Angie’s list – we chose Nansemond Lawn and Garden for our landscaping needs. We could not have done better! Our first contact was Robin Williams, the landscape designer; who developed our plan. Robin was very professional, personable, and competent. The crew sent out to implement the plan were very conscientious, polite, and competent. The crew chief was Mud, who appeared to be well liked and well respected by his crew. The crew (composed of Vincent, Michael, and Charlie) knew what to do, were well organized, and worked well together. The plan was executed in a timely manner and we were well pleased with the outcome. We are currently planning another project with Nansemond Lawn and Garden and would highly recommend them to anyone requiring landscaping services.

A designer from the company came to our residence, took measurements and said that because they had a backlog, that it would be a month before she could complete a final design plan. We paid a 50% deposit for the plan. However, after six months we still had not received a design plan, let alone any work started. After I complained to the manager, we did receive a refund of our deposit, but had also wasted six months for nothing!

They did an amazing job and always do.

I used this company for the last 3 years. This year I have had to terminate my contract as I have been very dissatisfied with both their work and customer service. They have not shown up when scheduled and have not called to notify when they will come although requested to do so on several occasions. They mowed the lawn with the sprinklers running and used weed whackers with no guards though specifically asked not to. Just overall not satisfied with the work performed or management of their crew.

Nansemond is just full of great people working for them. No matter what, these people are always cheerful. I have been using them for almost two years and I do not believe I have ever seen a miserable face yet. They are always at my home very well prepared and always right on scheduled time. I am very pleased with them and I would not change them for the world.
