Paid $9000 to get new windows installed. The installer said "the windows don't fit" and called his manager. The manager calls his boss and in a secret phone call on the side of our house (walked away from my wife so she wouldn't hear) he clearly explains that there is a problem, and he expresses concern over putting nails in the window at one point which is not normal, but the boss tells him to go ahead and do it. They tried to rig the undersized window, asserted that it was all "normal" and belittled me and my wife along the way as ignorant customers all the while pretending that these aforementioned problems that they recognized didn't exist. The gaps around the window were just shy of 1/2" , but they kept asserting it met the 1/8" to 1/4" industry standard and they squirt a bunch of caulk in around the frame saying that caulk "is an artform" and then mocked us as ignorant customers saying "to be honest, we get complaints from customers like this a lot. They look at the job in-progress and they say 'whoah that's a big a$$ gap!' but it's all normal." 30 minutes after that one window was installed the caulk started drooping and separating from the frame in numerous places inside and out, and it looks like a sloppy amateur paint job. Installers did not use a layout when choosing windows. The window was also installed 3/4" deeper into the frame which means we can't reinstall our blinds hardware, which is an extra $2000 +/- out of our pocket if they can't fix it. With the excessive caulk we have reason to doubt whether this window installation will reasonably hold for more than 2-3 years. It takes several days to get a partial email response from anyone. I attempted to contact our designated Lowes representative for this job to share my concerns during the job, but she was unavailable so I called the main corporate office instead. Another representative answered and she said that the installers should reinstall the old window if possible and then we would reassess the situation, but the installer insisted on installing this one window instead and did not even acknowledge reinstalling the old window as a possibility. I am not sure what the motive was there. I have experience using caulk, doing minor building projects, and I've shown pictures of this job to numerous coworkers and neighbors who recently had windows installed/reinstalled, and they all say this looks sloppy, shady, and far worse than their experience. We had another contractor come out and take a look at it on 10/31 (4 days after installation), and he said after many years of window installations he has never had to use metal on the sides like Lowes did, and that "it looks like they were trying to cover something up." He also noted that the metal pieces used on each side were different sizes, about 1" wide on the right and 1/2" on the left which is strange, and it looks sloppy and unprofessional. I asked Lowes to not send the same installer due to obvious dishonest efforts to conceal the true nature of the problem (windows too small) which the manager later admitted (ie. this window was supposed to be installed in another window frame, and 3 of the other windows ordered were the wrong size as well), and they responded "I do believe they are the only window installers" so I'm wondering if we're about to have to deal with this whole dishonest dance all over again. From a distance (which is what the installer was counting on I think based on his picture distance) it looks like an installed window, but if you look within about 6 feet you start seeing all kinds of issues that show that this is an unprofessional job. I get human error, and no worries there as long as they fix it, but the dishonesty and assertive bullying tactics are inexcusable. And now our windows are sitting out in the driveway since their delivery on 10/25 in the rain on a flat which we can't move, and which the Lowes delivery driver would not move into our house, until the rest of the windows are delivered to the store on 11/11. This is very frustrating because we had to cancel an appointment and find childcare for the installation day, and now that we don't know when installation is going to be our entire house is in shambles with everything pulled away from the windows, no privacy because we had to take down the window coverings, and little space with three children. Aside from passing the blame amongst themselves and delayed partial responses to our questions, Lowes has done nothing to make this right.

I hired Lowes to do the roof for me, what was done is, they hired an outside contractors to do the job for them, and the work done by the sub-contractor was not good, totally unsatisfactory. I had Lowes to come check on the roof about 3 years ago, and they told me that they couldn't do anything with the roof anymore because it was already out of the warranty period, which was supposed to be a lifetime warranty on the shingles. Their sub-contractors used nails on the shingles instead of screws that eventually damaged the shingles, and the dealer of the shingles would not do anything as well because the shingles were not correctly or properly installed. I am almost 70 years old and I won't be able to go up on the roof then to inspect on the work that Lowes' sub-contractor did. until about 3 or 4 years ago that I was having leakage problems from the roof that I had someone go up there and check what was wrong on the roof.

We picked out our carpet from Lowes and they gave us a time when they could be here to install it. It was a lot sooner than we thought. Everybody was so busy in town, but they came right out and got it done in only one day. We haven't had any problems with the carpet at all.
Description of Work: They installed carpet in the hallway and also a room through out my home. They installed 300 square foot of carpet.

The quality of the carpeting and door was one of our choices and a good one at that. It took the contractors two days to get both tasks completely done. We had one minor issue while the new carpet was being laid. They scarred up a freshly painted wall, but we didn t really mind it other than they didn t want to acknowledge it. We regarded this experience as a well done job overall.
Description of Work: They removed the old carpeting and installed new in our living room. They also installed a new aluminum wood garage door.

They did a good job. We haven't had any problems with the dishwasher since they were here. The repairman showed my husband how to do the repair himself because it was simple. They responded very quickly to my service call and they fixed it right there on the spot. My dishwasher was under warranty.
Description of Work: They repaired my Maytag dishwasher because the self grinders were jammed.

I was not happy with their overall service because it took them a month to get their sub contractors out here to install the garage door. When they finally got our there, they did an excellent job. She was very polite, very conversational, and apologized for the delays. Our insurance took care of the cost.

Lowes was very helpful when I was selecting the doors that I wanted and they came out very quickly to install them once I decided on them. They were very solid and didn t make any noise, which I really liked. I was really happy with their job and I would recommend them to other home owners.
Description of Work: They installed a front door with a storm door. They also installed French doors going to our patio in the back of our home.
