Hampton Roads Contracting Services of VA

Description of Work: Do Not use this contractor...he(Mr. Cochran) is so busy with big project to complete small one...words spoken by Mr. Cochran. My wife and I had Hampton Roads Contracting to do some work at my home a few year back at the recommendation of my leasing agent. Work was done quickly and well. Fast forward to current day. This company is not well organized and the owner Mr. Cochran makes tons of promises that he can not keep. We meet with Mr. Cochran get an estimate on simple projects in April 2012. At that time he promised to have an estimate for the work within days, it took 2 months. I was understanding of his busy schedule. His prices had gone up a great deal, so we could only complete some of the work. We agreed on a new contract and he said he would get the work completed within a few weeks. Fast forward, we finally got everything in order, Mr. Cochran asked if we could wait until the first of the year to complete the work. I agreed. We paid half and my tenant took off TWO(2) days from work to allow workers to come in and do the job. They did not complete the work and said the weather was a problem. Here we are 3 1/2 months later and the work Outside the home has not been completed. We have contacted Mr.Cochran numerous times over the last week and told him we no longer wish him to work on our home. We have asked for the final bill, so we know what refund we are owed.....they didn't complete half the work we paid for. My wife spoke with Mr.Cochran three times last week and asked for the same information. Each time he promised to get it to us and has not done so as this is being written. He promises to call back, but does not do so until we told him we would contact the credit card company. We are still waiting to complete or business with this company. We have contacted our credit card company and other organizations about this problem.

Description of Work: Requested vent covers be replaced total of three. House is two story with steep pitch. Company completed the estimate and had someone else complete the work. Other companies priced the work from $125 per vent to $75-$50 per vent.
