Butch's Tree Service

Well, came when they said they would. Cleaned up all debris. We were very satisfied with the quality of the work performed and the follow up afterward to be sure we were happy with the job.

I bought two of the deal offers. One for our residence and one for our rental property. It was a long time before I was contacted for service and then it was to be here in 30 minutes! I made that work since the fee had already been processed on my last VISA statement. They were really careful about cleaning up at my house. Very nice. But, then they left for the rental and I was not able to follow. I was sad to see a few days later that they hadn't picked up the trimmings there.

I bought an Angie's List discount for $500 work for $269 after reviewing Butch's Tree Service on the website. I spent quite awhile, approx. 2 weeks, trying to get in touch with Butch to schedule an estimate before he responded. Once he came by to look at the trees and give me a price to remove the one tree that was leaning, it was only a few days before he phoned to announce he would remove the tree the next day. He and his crew of two arrived shortly after 8 am as scheduled. When they arrived I made a spot decision to remove both trees and he gave me a revised price to remove both trees which I accepted. While he had initially indicated he would use his bucket truck, he decided the space was too tight to place the bucket truck, the chipper and the large truck to haul the chips so that he and his crew could work efficiently, so he scaled the trees instead. He and his crew worked very efficiently with him in the tree, one crew lowering the branches and the other feeding them to the chipper. He was very careful to drop sections of the tree trunks in the same spot to minimize damage to my lawn and did a good job cleaning up my yard and my neighbor's yard afterwards. They worked through the day until dark with a short break for lunch to finish the job in one day. I was very pleased with his friendly demeaner and that of his crew and their professionalism.

I was very grateful for this service. I would not have been able to cut the branches off those high trees in a million years. Bruce was a quiet man who responded to my email question very quickly. We didn't communicate for a while after that but then he came over and looked over the trees in my yard and later that week returned to cut them. No mess was left in the yard. There was no sign of the branches or leaves, just a little sawdust in a few scattered spots. I didn't even realize that they had come, but my outdoor swing was in a different spot. At first I thought someone had been trying to steal it, but then I realized that the tree service had been here, moved it, and forgotten to move it back.

They called and informed me that they did not service my area. They asked if I needed additional work beyond the big deal service, which I did not, so I am not sure if that impacted them coming out to do the services. They did not state how far they would come for services in the big deal advertisement.

I called Butch's Tree Service for an estimate. At the time of the call, he could not provide me with an appointment for an estimate, so he took my information and asked when I was usually home. About two weeks later he (Butch) showed up at my home unannounced to provide an estimate. I was surprised to see him, but he was professional and friendly, so we proceeded with the estimate. About two weeks later, I called to setup an appointment so that he could do the work. Luckily he (Butch) was in the area working another job, so he came out that evening about 4:00PM. Excellent flexibility and customer service on his part! He and two other employees came out to do the job. They worked for a little over 2 hours while I watch. All three of them were professional, careful, and friendly. They did excellent work on my 3 trees. Several large branches were over my home or close to it. They did not damage a thing. Cleaned up every branch, twig, and even raked up some of my leaves. Great company! I would use them again and I am happy to refer friends, family, and you to them.

We applied our coupon of $250.00 for $500 worth of tree services to a tree removal. It was an excellent bargain. Butch came out gave us an estimate and took the tree down, ground the stump, cleaned up, and we were very pleased with his service. I would definitely use Butch's Tree Service again.

I had some problems in the beginning but in all I would have to say that they responded to my needs, took care of the trees, cleaned up great, over all did a great job. I would use them again and probably very soon.

There was a delay to schedule the service because I wasn't aware that I was to contact him to schedule the service. So some of the blame belongs to me for not having called him sooner. I received a request from Angie's List for feedback on how things went. I originally posted a poor review because of this. I did end up calling him to schedule the service and everything went fine. I found him to be very courteous and knowledgeable. He even answered some questions I had about some flowers and bushes on my property, which was totally outside of the contract. The actual work he did was done very well. He cleaned up after himself. I will definable use him again. He is a one man show, and I think that some of the issues we had was that he can't be up a tree and on a cell phone at the same time.

We would highly recommend Butch and his crew to anyone that needs tree removal. We will definitely use him again.

I purchased this service through Angies Big Deal. I called Bruce to schedule an appt for the service. He asked what I was interested in doing and said he would take a look at the tree first. Bruce dropped by and we discussed what I was would like done with the tree. My tree had a really nice shape to it but lost a big limb during a microburst last year. The other large limb on that side has a split near the main trunk. There weren't so many blossoms this year and the tree had some dead branches. Bruce recommended using a cable on the branch with the split to offset some of the weight else the tree would look really lopsided. It is in the front yard and I was glad that he offered a solution other than removing it. Bruce called me both at home and work to let me know his crew would be doing the work the next day. I was at work at the time they performed the service, but the neighbors said that they were very efficient and organized. They had a chipper for the limbs. Short of my tree looking 10 times better, you couldn't tell that anyone had been working in the yard (no debris). My tree looks great now. I have received many compliments from the neighbors. We were very pleased with the work performed however I did not feel the price was fair.The deal was for 500.00 dollars worth of service for 249.00 dollars. And when he came out he told me it would be another 200.00 dollars. That meant the total value for taking down that tree would have been 700.00 dollars. I had gotten an estimate from someone else for much less than a 700.00 dollar value. I thought I was getting a deal by going with this tree service. Then my neighbor saw them and had them come over to his house, take down a much bigger tree and did not charge him 700.00 dollars and he'd did not have an angie's list deal. I don't want to take anything from them because they did a beautiful job, however I don't feel like I got any kind of deal,

Butch came to the house and looked at the two trees we had growing close together and killing each other off. The maximum height was probably about 30 feet. After looking over the tree, Butch quoted me a price, allowing me to use my Angie's list discount coupon and pay a slight amount more for the full service. He and his crew showed up the next week and removed the tree, tree scraps and ground the stump, after which they filled the hole. Honestly, I couldn't have hoped for better service. Butch is friendly and helpful. When I asked him about another tree, he gave me an honest opinion of it even though it meant his sales would not increase in the job. Understanding my concerns about dead limbs in the tree and my daughter and pet, Butch was quick to get the job done. Previous quotes in recent years have been easily double what Butch asked for the job, so I know what a deal I got. I am extremely happy with the service and will recommend Butch to friends and use him and his crew in the future.

I had a bit of trouble getting ahold of Butch on the phone and was not sure when he planned on coming but once we agreed on a date, everything went very smoothly. Butch and his crew were very professional, polite and pleasant to converse with. I highly recommend Butch's Tree Service.

This company was FANTASTIC. The owner came over to give an estimate within a few hours of my phone call asking for an estimate. He was very pleasant and professional. The crew worked hard and it was amazing to see how well they do their job---from beginning to end, set-up to trimming to the clean-up, I was very happy with the service and would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs tree services. It was apparent that they sincerely try to do the job that exceeds expectations, not just meets expectations. And the price was reasonable in light of the quality of service and amount of work it takes to do the job right. I never felt like they were rushing to finish the job, or that they were sloppy, because the price was set regardless of how long it took to trim those trees (and it was not an easy task).

It took them 3 days to take down the trees and 1 day to girnd the stumps. Their work from start to finish was outstanding. Not a branch hit my house and these trees were very big and very close to my house. Butch was amazing. If I have any more work to do in the future he will be the one to do it.

The company gave good pricing for the services they have provided. They are professional and their work was done very neatly and they know what they are doing.

I e-mailed Butch's Tree Service indicating that I would like an estimate to have a tree trimmed. I got a return e-mail asking for my address and phone number, which I provided. He did not call in advance but when I came home on a Sunday evening, his business card was in my front door. On another day he called and came by when he said he would and gave me an estimate for the work I wanted done. I felt it was a good price and told him I was interested in having the work done the following week. He said he would call me and let me know when he could do it. That was over 5 weeks ago and I have never heard back from him.
