He had the paneling down and a few sheet's of drywall up in the first night. He worked late to get the rest of the walls done before the weekend. He was always professional and when I had to work he even let my dog out!

He was very friendly, spent a lot of extra hours, the things about the quote had to change due to some findings that were wrong with the room, he was very flexible, he was really great, the fact that I had a roommate at that time who didn't answer the door for him but he didn't let me know that, I told him if there were issues he would call me but he didn't call me, they actually only completed about 95% of the job, the end of the job for what he must have left to do, a friend did it for me.
Description of Work: Anthony Randolph Plastering & Drywall came out and redid an entire room, all the drywall and trim, last December.

 + -1 moreI called Mr. Randolph at 5:00 on Tuesday afternoon and asked him when he could give me a quote/estimate on work in my home. He came by that same evening to quote the job. After reviewing the needed work, he told me a quote would be e-mailed to me the next morning. At 6:00 the next morning, there was a quote in my inbox. The quote was extremely fair and I immediately e-mailed Mr. Randolph asking when he could perform the necessary repairs. I was told he was working in my area on the following day (Thursday) and could complete the work then. We agreed to meet at my home at 1:00. Mr. Randolph and his assistant arrived approximately fifteen minutes early to start working. The work was completed promptly and professionally. Mr. Randolph told me he would return the next day after the new drywall and plaster had dried to replace the light fixture and heating vent. True to his word, Mr. Randolph returned the next day and quickly finished the job. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and quality of work from Mr. Randolph and his assistant. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for drywall repair work.  + 0 moreBeing somewhat of a handyman myself, but not experienced in wall repair, I was able to observe he knew what he was doing, putting fiberglass tape over the cracks to mitigate further cracking. The final coat were smooth, requiring minimal sanding prior to painting. The resultant repairs are not detectable, and the cracks have not reappeared. I will call him first if I need any more repairs. He is a US Navy veteran.
Description of Work: I called Anthony to repair wall damage after a window replacement and had him also repair cracks in other walls due to settling of the house.

He uses tar paper to protect floors from joint compound dust, he cleans up every day, we reviewed his work every day and then set a schedule for the next day. Once, maybe twice he delayed an arrival, but he calls when the schedule changes. He willing worked with me as we settled details and he came up with some excellent ideas for trimming out the scuttle. We have received several compliments on the trim job he did. He had no problem picking up the additional repair work. We are very pleased with the overall finish of his drywall work.
Description of Work: Anthony installed drywall in a scuttle in the front bedroom, installed plaster board in an alcove in the back bedroom and installed plaster board on a narrow wall in the back bedrom, and installed drywall over the plaster in the closet in the back bedroom. In addition, he repaired four holes created by an electrician replacing knob and tube wiring as well as smoothing out a rough spot in the ceiling next to one of the larger repairs. I did not have to ask for the additional touch up on the ceiling, he just did it to make it look right.

His painter did some of the work on the second day and when Anthony came to oversee the work I pointed out a couple places in the plaster that didn't look right to me. He made it right without complaint and made us happy customers. Did a great job and the ceiling looks seamless.

He made sure he protected the area from any harmful debris. When the job was finished it was done to my satisfaction.  + 0 moreI can't speak highly enough of Mr. Anthony and his assistant, David. I contacted Mr. Anthony based on the reviews from Angieslist. He did not dissappoint and the quality of his work exceeded my expectations. He began work the day after the estimate was provided and arrived on time. The job took about 4 days to complete and was complicated by the lack of heat in my house. To make a long story short, we had just moved in and had a few hiccups in the utilities. All of our furniture was also stacked in one room by our movers and Mr. Anthony and his assistant helped me to disribute it throughout the house. He also let me use two expensive paint brushes on a room I was painting when he saw that I was using an inferior brush. Great care was taken to ensure that dust and debris did not infiltrate my house. Plastic liners covered every door and closet and roofing membrane combined with enough painters tape to cover a 747 jet were laid down to protect my recently refinished hardwood floors. The ceiling and walls look amazing and it's really a shame no one will know the amount of effort and attention to detail that went into accomplishing the job. After the job was completed and in order to provide the walls time to dry, Mr. Anthony returned to our house about 4 days after the job to inspect his work and give us the ok to begin painting. Mr. Anthony's level of perfection and willingness to get the job done right is a trait that very few contractors have.
Description of Work: Replace popcorn ceilings with fan patterned plaster in 2 bedrooms, 2 hallways, a large living room, and one dining room. Remove pegboard wall covered in wallpaper (yes you read that right), and refinish smooth in one bedroom.

 + -1 moreContacted Anthony via Angie's List and we scheduled a time for him to come by and look at the job. He showed up at the agreed upon time, and provided an estimate. The job was not big, and I wondered if he would do the job. He said it's the little jobs that lead to the big ones. I would agree after seeing his work! I accepted his estimate which I thought was very reasonable, and set up a day for him to do the work. He showed up on time with one assistant. The bulk of the work was completed in one day. After letting the wall dry over night, he came back the next morning to give it a final sanding. They cleaned up the area and left no mess. All in all, a nice experience. Excellent work for a reasonable price.
Description of Work: Installed new section of drywall that was removed for plumbing work. This included intalling vapor barrier, cutting in new drywall to accomidate new plumbing and electrical fittings and smothing over all seams. The result was a perfect match to the surrounding drywall.

There is a lot more work in re-plastering painted walls and repairing holes. One more note, plastering is a very messy process but Anthony takes pride in protecting the customers property. I'm sure I'll be using him again for our kitchen and baths.

Mr. Randolph and his worker delivered 110% with the utmost pride in their work. It was quite evident that anything less than a top notch job would not be acceptable to Mr. Randolph. I would highly recommend this contractor to anyone.

Description of Work: I called Anthony Randolph to give me an estimate on fixing my dining room ceiling and walls . I asked him if he could repair my dining room ceiling to match the other half of ceiling due to water damage from my air conditioner. He told me he could match the stomp ceiling which is a star design to the other half of ceiling which was not damaged. The new half of ceiling does not match the old ceiling!! The stomp design he got another person to put up looked close to the original ceiling, until it dried and you can see the stomp design is smaller then the original, you can also see where the new ceiling meets the old one as there is still a water stain in the ceiling and where he plastered, there is a line on the ceiling that he did not sand as he promised me he would. He told me he was going to have to paint all of the dining, living, and foyer ceilings to match up the paint. I agreed and asked him what was he going to use to paint the ceilings with. He told me a roller brush. Instead he spray painted the ceilings and I can see the difference in the ceiling due to a poor job of painting. Paint was too thin!! I also had to point out one side wall in dining room wall he did not even paint until I told him. It took him a month to do half a dining room ceiling, dry wall and paint!! I had to keep calling him about finishing the job. He told me he was having employee problems and having a hard time finding a stomp brush to do my ceiling. He knew from the first time he came over that he could not do the job properly . I paid Anthony Randolph the full amount for the poor work he did on my home. On the receipt he wrote this: If perfect brush is found, I will return to perform to perfect match. I will keep in contact until brush is found. It has been 30 days since he was here and still no call from him!!! He had no intention of ever coming back and I am stuck with a poor job of painting and plastering.

 + 1 moreMr Randolph was always timely, honest, easily reachable, and a pleasure to work with. This considerably in-depth job was made slightly more complicated when my wife and I chose to modify the project during its execution. Mr Randolph handled the changes flawlessly, and we could not be happier with the end results. We also had several other contractors involved with our project (lighting, electrical, painting) and he worked and communicated very well with them. When our ceiling painter dropped out at the last minute, Mr Randolph immediately began priming and painting the ceilings without even being asked which allowed us to move back in on timeline. We should have contracted with him to do the painting to begin with. We will definitely use him again for any ceiling/drywall work we need completed. Excellent results, highly recommended!
Description of Work: Removed popcorn from nearly every ceiling in the house (popcorn had previously been painted/plastered over in numerous places). Repaired drywall issues of all sizes (cracks, dents, holes, etc) in nearly every room throughout home. Primed and painted two ceilings to assist us after our previously scheduled painter dropped out at last minute.

 + -1 moreMr. Randolph is very professional and courteous.THe leak happened on 6/17/12. I contacted Mr. Randolph on 6/18/2012.We met on the wednesday 20th to get an estimate. He said it takes him a couple of days to email it to me.On Friday 22th, he called me in the afternoon to let me know he had not forgotten about me and that I would have the estimate the following day. I received it indeed on the saturday and he also called me to let me know he had sent it. We made an appointment for the sat 6/30.2012.Mr. Randolph came on time with his helper, they prepared the whole room with plastic to protect walls and furniture. Mr. Randolph took his time to cover the holes. He then used the pop corn maker, I am not sure what it is called. The work was very well done.Removing the tape, he unfortunately remove a bit of paint. I did not mind it, but he was bothered by it, so Mr. Randolph refinished the wall so that we could not notice it. They cleaned everything before leaving.I definitely recommend Mr. Randolph, and I will contact him for future work.

 + -1 moreAnthony gave his estimate and that matched the final price. He repaired the damaged section and returned and painted the entire ceiling of our family room. I was working so my 22 yo daughter arranged her schedule to be in the home with our elderly dog. The room was wrapped in plastic to protect our walls and floors. It took two- 3 hour days as promised, minimal dust and plaster despite working with the popcorn ceiling. The only hiccup was in scheduling...we scheduled for a Wed and Thursday morning 9-12:30 but Anthony called Wed night to say he would be arriving at noon the next day. Since my daughter had to work, we agreed on Friday morning instead and I was lucky that my daughter was free and I did not have to take a day off from work. The ceiling looks great, including the vents that had never matched the ceiling before Anthony arrived. His work was excellent and I would recommend him.
Description of Work: We had a leak upstairs and attempted to repair our popcorn ceiling of our first floor family room ourselves. The damaged area was about 5ft x 10ft and the ceiling is about 12x25 with wood beams that needed to be protected from the spray paint.
