I discovered HGPC through an ad on a local restaurant menu and after checking out his website, I decided to contact him as I liked the clarity and tone of Derrick's website. I planned to purchase a netbook and needed to change to a wireless router. We communicated quite well by email. Derrick made some general router recommendations. I found some options on Amazon.com, emailed him the link to them, and he reviewed them and made his recommendation, explaining his rationale. He then promptly came and set up the new system with both of my PCs and the laptop. He also set up security and some other software on the laptop. Sometime later, I started to have problems with my PC not booting up. I called Derrick, quite upset, and he was very responsive and told me some things to check out. He then came and ran some diagnostics. He then recommended that I run a full Dell diagnostic, but since this can take up to 4 hours, he suggested I do it myself rather than pay for him to do it and let him know all the result messages. I did this and he was able to determine that my external drive was not working properly. I replaced it and the situation was resolved. I appreciate Derrick's work and friendly manner. He was responsive to email and especially responsive when I called him, thinking my PC was crashing. A great guy and great local resource.
