Changed the Thermostat. Air handler and Condensing unit.

The technician from Washington Gas danger-tagged my furnace and turned the gas to it off, saying the furnace was likely emitting carbon monoxide because of a broken/cracked heat exchanger. I went to angi.com and found half-a-dozen folks who dealt with HVAC. I put in my information. Within minutes, Zagros called me and made an appointment to have someone come out. The owner and president, Ray Ghofrani, was at my door within 30 minutes. We determined it would be better to replace my 28-year-old furnace than to fix the heat exchanger. He gave me an extremely good price, about $3,000 less than the next-highest one (I got three estimates.) I decided to replace the A/C as well. Ray made a phone call and arranged to get the equipment the next day; we made an appointment for the following day to do the work. The men arrived on time at 7:30; we had scheduled until 3:30, but they finished by about 2:00, hauling off the old equipment. They even swept my garage! Who does that? I was so pleased they were able to do the work within less than 2 days of the initial contact, for it was a very cold day. No one talked down to me or tried to take advantage of my ignorance. Now I am toast warm. My garage is about 10 degrees cooler now; the old unit was losing some of the heat into the garage. I expect my gas and electric bills to go down dramatically. I couldn't be happier!

We used Zagros for 3 years to do seasonal maintenance on two very different furnaces in different homes. They were a breeze to schedule and provided fair, prompt service when we had a system fail due to age.

We started working with Zagros after purchasing a multi-year HVAC maintenance program through Angie's List. From there, we saw Ray four times per year, covering two properties. Ray has been gem and a delight to work with. Unfortunately, we had to replace one of the systems. Our service from Ray was just as stellar. We have had some minor hiccups contacting the office (email and phone) over the years, but the only time this became an issue was when we had the unexpected system failure. We'll be happy to continue working with Zagros.

Perfect! Ray the owner and his technician showed up promptly at 8AM and worked seamlessly for four hours. They removed the old furnace and AC units and replaced them with new systems. They covered and then cleaned their work areas. The office manager Peyton and Ray are extremely responsive in returning phone calls or emails. Scheduling was easy and their estimate was very reasonable. The entire experience couldn't have gone better. I highly recommend anyone give them the opportunity to service your HVAC.

Haven't lost any sweat since ....

The estimate, price, and installation were all exceptional. Zagros took great care to protect the rugs and floors that needed to be crossed in our basement during the installation. The upgraded equipment (that replaced our 19 year old system) is much more efficient as well, and will cost much less to operate. Zagros was much lower in price than all other estimates, and used higher quality (Trane) equipment than with the higher estimates. I only wish I had found Zagros when our other system needed replacing last year.

He got my heat pump going again and I had called some other people for estimates and they all wanted to replace it. He told me it was still good and you do not need to replace it.

All of the things were excellent. They are knowledgeable, reliable, and I am sure they can get the job done for you. I would highly recommend them to others and I have already.

It went well. He was punctual and helpful. He did talk down about the nest, and I installed it originally myself. He kinda blamed nest but turned out it was the heat pump (reversing valve failed, shortly after it sprung a refrigerant leak). But seriously, very professional, very timely and friendly, good prices, prompt response on issues, just know that he doesn't like the nest lol! Ended up buying a variable speed heat pump (compressor, condenser fan and AHU all variable) that needs its own special thermostat anyway so I gave the nest to a friend.

Smooth, very knowledgeable, completed work in one day, house is now very comfortable, passed on permit inspection.

Our current AC was broken and had to be completely replaced. After getting 3 -4 different quotes, I selected Zagros as they had the best quote and had the best service as well. My phone call was answered promptly and Ray came out in 1/2 hour to see the unit. He gave a quote on the spot and told me the AC could be installed as early as the next day. After we selected the company, they were quick to install the unit, Work was completed in approx. 3 hours. Ray also showed me the that furnace and humidifier were working fine after the AC install, and gave me detailed instructions on how to register the new unit with Trane. Overall we had an excellent experience with Zagros and plan to use them in the future.

Ray was great. He showed up to the appointment (quoting appointment) on time, provided a detailed quote with model numbers and came across as an honest guy. I selected Zagros after having two other quotes done. Both of the other quotes saw Zagros quote and said they couldn't touch it. I asked the other sales reps what they thought about the recommended system and they both said it was one of the ones they were going to be recommending. When I asked one of the reps what he would do if it were his home he said he couldn't answer after pointing to the Zagros quote. Having said all that, I was still surprised by the priced difference so I was skeptical about the company as a whole. I did some research, the usual web locations and everything checked out. Needless to say I went with Zagros and am very happy with the decision. The system works as expected, the installation team (Ray and associate) were great. I recommend Zagros to anyone looking to have to replace their HVAC system

Ray was able to return two days later to do the work! He was on time, finished early, cleaned everything up, explained everything, and was professional and thorough from start to finish! He even took pictures of my ducts to show me how spotlessly clean they are, AND he cleaned of the outside of my intake covers, which was a very nice surprise. He took the time to walk me through everything, suggested settings for the dampers in the winter and summer seasons, and he offered to write those onto the vents with a sharpie, so I wouldn't forget.

This is a small organization but very professional. No pressure on sale. Price was substantially below (by several thousand dollars) below what I was bid by two other (Angie's List) contractors. Zagros arrived when expected, did the work as expected, and has arrived and completed routine maintenance as excected. Couldn't ask for more!

We needed a new A/C unit at our condo (compressor unit as well as evaporator). After gettting some estimates from others, Zagros was the only one who would actually replace the unit with the exact same one. Everyone else was trying to upsell me. They did it for less than everyone else, and even saved us some money by not replacing any unnecessary parts if they didn't have to. They came on time and finished the work quickly. They earned my trust for future work, which is pretty hard to do these days.

They professionally did everything excellent.

Zagros has done the smallest job for me .i.e. replacing a value to the biggest job, i.e. replacing an entire home HVAC and his work is consistent throughout. I fully recommend Ray for all your HVAC needs, he has not let me down yet!

My air conditioner broke upstairs last summer, and so we were sleeping in the basement. I got a list of people from my home owner’s insurance and I talked to different people; Zagros was one of them. I think it is a real small company because it is he who always answers the phone but he is professional and very patient. They are a family-run company, and they just struck me as being nice and very helpful. I did some shopping because it was a big purchase and their prices were good. They had to install a brand new unit. They even had a thing where, if I went through a certain company, I would get $250 off. He said that they would have had to join that plan with the company by paying $500 for me to get the discount. He said that that was not worth it and that he would give it to me by just taking it off the price. I had an older air conditioning unit downstairs, and so I asked him to come back and do its maintenance. He said that they don’t do maintenance agreements and that it was just like an hourly thing. For the maintenance, the first hour would cost me about $85 and then it would go down from there. I accepted his offer. I think it had slipped his mind. When I called him about it, he was apologetic and said that he would come over the next morning. He came and did a couple of things, and didn’t even charge me; he said that he would charge when he would come back with the filter. He was here for a while the first time and he didn’t charge me for that. We had a gas fireplace that we couldn’t get to work; he went in there, took it apart and did it, and didn’t charge anything.
