Snell Heating & Air Conditioning

Last week, my AC failed. Then it sort of came back to life for a few days. Then failed again. So after seeing the reviews on AL, decided to call Snells. Kelly answered and was professional, polite, and sympathetic to my trouble and urgency of request. Somehow she found time on the companies busy schedule to send James out to the house to diagnose/repair AC later the same day. Fast forward to later that same day......Courtesy call alerting me to the pending arrival of James James showed up, right when he was supposed to. He listened to me describe the symptoms and immediately inspected the capacitor on the AC unit outside. He took the time to explain to me the steps that led him right to that part failure, and even showed me an example of how one could visibly fail. Although mine was not visibly damaged or broken the 45 A capacitor couldn't test above 20A. He even pointed out to me how he could tell that the capacitor had been replaced at least once before, and suggested a surge protector to prevent damage to the new capacitor. James had a new capacitor on the van, asked me if I would authorize the repair and cost, and installed the new capacitor. AC kicked on and house began to cool. Tested the cooling capacity with the temperature differential method (83 degrees intake, 59 degrees output) I signed up for the service plan - peace of mind and twice annual inspections. That is not part of the cost above and at no time did I feel pressured to purchase the plan. Although I am hesitant to rate the price as "A" / Excellent as the replacement part and service fee was not inexpensive, I feel as though in this visit I paid quite appropriately for the level of competency and experience exhibited by Snell's staff. Not to mention all the things I didn't pay for (unnecessary parts or labor) I will not hesitate to call in their expertise in the future. Thank you for your prompt and professional service

The technicians are courteous, they know what they are doing. They come on time and call before they get here. We like the way they operate their business.

Snell was great, from start to finish. We switched to Snell after getting the run-around from another company and couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend them.

Noticed issues with current setup, fixing rattling, adjusted temperature sensors

There were extra charges like $300 or so and the deal was like $60 or something. They said that our air conditioner needed to be replaced, but they weren't pushy about it and that was fine. They came on time. I would probably use them again.

It was fine. They were timely and did what they were supposed to do or what we asked them to do. Their price was in line with everybody else.

They did a good job. They have a competitive price and honored an Angie's List discount. The installation went smoothly. They had great customer service from sales to follow up.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was adequate. The technician that did arrive was courteous and he was pleasant but not very highly forthcoming with information about the work that he was doing. I was kind of like pulling teeth just to get information out of him on what he was doing and possible causes for certain things. As far as I can remember, he was on time.

We purchased the big deal coupon for this service and they were fantastic. They were excellent. They were out here on a warranty call and so there was no charge for the last visit. We ended up hiring them because after we used them for the Angie’s list deal, we liked their quality of work and the price. They were very responsive and very thorough. They do great work.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. Overall, it was good except that the deal was for A/C and furnace but they only did the service for the A/C.

The service tech who showed up put on booties before upon entering the house - this was the first sign that we were off to a good start. He professionally went through his inspection of both units, explained to me what he was doing at every step and answered all of my questions. I was highly impressed with the service tech and the job that he did. It was the most detailed review of the systems we have had in the 14 years we have been in this house.

technician was very helpful, pointing out some things we had done wrong that caused the electrostatic air cleaner to stop working, cleaned the entire system and restored operations. We liked them so much we purchased a maintenance agreement on the spot.

Everything was to our satisfaction. Only rated a good on punctuality because they told me they'd call before someone came out and they didn't. My appointment was for 8-10am and someone arrived a little after 10.

I purchased a big deal from and they waited until I set up the appointment before telling me that they could not do the other zone in my home without additional costs. Told them I had two zones in the first contact.

I purchased the big deal from Angie's List and it worked out pretty good. They found few problems and fixed them up. The company was good. The guy was very professional and he asked a lot of questions. He acted genuinely concerned about the way the A/C was working and stuff. It was somewhat different from the last company I went through. The price was well worth it. It took them almost two weeks to finally get out there but when the guy did say he was going to show up, he did show up.

Rick arrived promptly, he was very nice and had a professional appearance and demeanor. He covered his shoes ASAP upon entering the home ( something I look for in a service man!). He was very knowledgable of the issue with the battery and answered many of my questions reguarding this A/C unit and one we may need to purchase in the near future. He was patient, detailed and simpified all explanations so that anyone could understand the components of the A/C unit -no jargen to confuse! He also did not push a sale even when I expressed that we may need a new one in near future. There was no need to! We will not purchase from any other company given the way this experience went. From the professional and curteous people on the phone to the man that serviced the air conditioner. All reminded me of a service style from decades ago! People that take great pride in their job and company!!!! Truly refreshing!!!! Bravo Snell! We are sold! .........a good indicator of company ethic can be derived from their career page......check out "stand up guy" requirements- these days its good to know who is showing up at your house! They are good. They charged nothing and I got an inspection deal with them. I have been using them now for about two years. They do provide regular service. I have got so many things going on. I cannot keep up with all of them and they come on an annual basis and change the filters and pump out and there is a pump that works with the air conditioning system and has to be cleaned and stuff like that. They are good for that. I would use them again.

Appointment went very well. The technician went out of his way to help out during the visit, including having no problem climbing up onto our roof to checkout the outside components of our system.

They came in said there was a much larger problem than what really was wrong. They informed me that I would have to remove and replace the whole unit, which would cost a lot of money. I had another company come in and they said we just needed to remove some rust and the unit would work fine.

It went extremely well. The gentleman came as quickly as he good (I think I had to wait a day to get on the schedule) and was extremely courteous, polite and knowledgeable. He checked everything thoroughly and quickly determined the cause of my problem (a blown fuse). He cleaned off the a/c filter, he double checked the flow of air and the level of cooling agent. He even waited to see if the temperature was gradually decreasing. He gave me all the time I needed and wanted to be completely sure I was satisfied before he left. And he enjoyed my iced tea! I would definitely use Snell again.

Other than the fact that my air conditioner is dead <g>, the appointment was great. The technician arrived earlier than originally planned (called ahead to be sure that coming early was okay, which it definitely was!). The tech was very nice and went right to work. After diagnosing the problem, a new motor was ordered, and they have been in constant contact with me since then as we await it's delivery so it can be installed. Everyone I have dealt with at Snell has been professional and courteous. I will make another update after the motor is delivered and installed, but so far, they get an A rating from me.

Called once arrived since I was not hope. My father was home at the time and showed him where the system was. I got a phone call letting me know what problems I had and that it was all included with what I payed and fixed it. My AC unit has been working without any problems at all.

What I did was I checked about four companies for interview for pricing and all that and then selected one and in that case, we selected Snell and we're very pleased with them. I had a good price from them. There was a problem I think with the humidifier or something but then the owner of the company called up and said that he'd do another year maintenance for free so I've had no problems with the company whatsoever.

The tech was able to successfully find the issue with my system and able to give me a quote right then for the cost of the repair. They are already schedule to come back and fix the issues tomorrow.

It worked out very well. They were able to come out in a timely fashion, they diagnosed my problem with our air conditioner and were able to fix it that same day which was very good and their price was reasonable. It required new parts and so that wound up being about $400. The deal was just for a checkup but it required some additional work.
