Snell Heating & Air Conditioning

I had done research online and they were very good and helpful in determining which unit would work best for our home. The technicians who installed the units were very good. They did try to fix our old units and topped off our old AC unit so we would be comfortable until the new units were installed. Our energy costs have gone down at least a third for the summer and the winter since the new units were installed. I purchased these units for their reliability and how long they will last. They’re a very good company.

I have had a service contract with Snell since the winter of 2009. They come twice a year to service/maintain the HVAC systems (spring for ACs, fall for furnaces). The front office staff is professional when helping to schedule the visits. All the technicians who have worked in my home are pleasant, on time, well-trained, clean and seem to enjoy working for the company.

I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. It went really well. They did good. My A/C had gone off and it was in the middle of Summer and they were easy to get a hold of. They were very responsive, I didn't have to wait forever for them to come over and fix it. They did a good job once they were there.

Jason was our repairman, and he was very punctual, put covers for his shoes before stepping into our home, and everything. he took time explain what was wrong with our air conditioner (it was making a lot of noise but not generating any cold air), and replaced it for us. saved us lots of money, very reliable, honest, and would highly recommend him to anyone.

It went well. The a/c unit was another story, it did not cooperate, however we did use this company to buy our replacement unit and alls well that ends well.

Technician was knowledgeable and able to easily explain things including that our humidifier was not installed correctly (!!!) and the drain pipe could be improved. Snell DID NOT install the humidifier, but was able to install it correctly so that it actually worked. Replaced rubber house drain pipe with PVC so that it was fixed over the drain, eliminating the chance it could move away from the drain and cause water damage. Had technician come back in May to inspect/tune up A/C and found no issues. Would use them again if we were still in the area.

I heard their ad campaign and I liked it and I found their BIG DEAL offer to be a good thing. Every point that they do from the contact to answering my questions to the service is really good. I spent more because part of the deal is that if they notice something that looks off they ask for more money to fix it. I have 2 units and one was about $240 and the other one was $79. They treated them separately because I bought 2 deals. They came out about a month after I purchased the deal.

I ended up having to buy some freon but the service was okay.

They were excellent. They were prompt, courteous and professional. They seemed to do a great work. I would use their service again.

Quality work, will definitely use them again. In fact, I purchased a service agreement thru them for a biannual services on our HVAC systems.

It was great. Nothing really stands out as being really good or really bad. It was a standard service.

Snell was a class act all the way. They were a bit late (because my building is kind of hidden) but they kept contacting me to keep me in the loop of what was going on. The technician was courteous and professional. He was pleasant to talk to, came into the unit, took his shoes off when he remembered that he forgot his shoe covers in his van, and proceeded to do a thorough job of inspecting the A/C unit, explaining the whole process along they way. And even though the A/C was not performing at peak efficiency due to its age, I asked what I could do about that and he told me the process but didn't try to sell it. He wasn't pushy at all. A+ Service. I'll use them again and refer them to my friends when they have issues.

They were prompt in setting the appoint, prompt in arrival, pretty slow in getting the quote. The sales person doing the visit with the quote was not and has never been a technician so when I began asking technical questions, he couldn't provide answers. Very nice person, but personally I'd rather have someone with a technical background or basis if they are trying to recommend a product.

They did a fine job. They were prompt, they seem to be honest, and they were reasonable with the Angie's List coupon. They did a good job, they didn't find anything, they were very quick, and it was a good service. I remember that they were just a few minutes late and they called, as long as somebody called then I'm good.

The technician provided timely and what I consider very good service. He was polite, and had no problem answering my questions. He could not replace the UV light on my system today, but said he would see that the part was ordered and he would have the company schedule a replacement time after receipt of the part. I was not pleased with the company I had previously been using, and plan to use Snell Heating & Air Conditioning in the future.

After reading several Angie's List reviews, we chose Snell to check on the AC unit at our rental property in April. The unit was just 4 years old but our renters reported that it wasn't fully cooling the house. The technician that checked the unit called me (our renters were at the house) at my request to explain that the coil had gone bad. He discussed the possibility of cleaning the coil OR replacing it but since the part was under warranty, it made more sense to replace it and definitely solve the problem. He told me he would add refrigerant to keep the unit going until the part came in (within a few weeks) and took my credit card information for the repairs. Our credit card was charged over $1200 (the full amount for both visits and the repair) in mid-April. Fast forward to September when I get a call from my renter saying that the AC unit stopped working and that Snell had never been there to replace the coil. A call to Snell confirmed the fact that they had had the part in their warehouse since April and they had not done the work we had paid for 5 months prior. At that point I asked for my money back because I could no longer trust them. After many phone calls, I ended up getting just over $500 back because I was charged over $300 for cleaning of the coil (not even the owner had a straight answer on why they would clean a coil that they were about to replace and I never agreed to or was even told about the cleaning or the charge) and close to $400 for refrigerant (a charge I did not dispute). I also had to pay a $120 restocking fee for a part that was free because it was under warranty!?! In the end, Snell split the cost of the coil cleaning with me but blamed our renters for not scheduling with them. Our renters however, claim Snell tried to come once with no prior notice and they were out of town (that was August, by the way) and when they called back to reschedule, they were told Snell's scheduling system was down and they never got the call back they were promised. Renter issues or not, it was my credit card and my AC unit and Snell left me in the dark after the payment went through. When called on it, they wouldn't admit their error and kept our money because they felt they could. I was beyond disappointed.

I purchased the Big Deal and was called promptly to set up an appointment. The technician showed up within the time window and did a wonderful job. He recommended changing the humidifier filter which clearly was overdue to be changed. I would definitely use them again.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was fine. I would rate them as average.

The above services are provided through the purchase of a yearly maintenance plan. I have always been impressed with the service and find it is well worth the one time payment each year to ensure the systems are running efficiently. For this visit, the technician also replaced some parts and a filter on our whole home humidifier for $64. I trust Snell as they have always done a great job in my home.

All was well, except they were working on a coupon and felt description of extra charges was inadequate.

They were on time, friendly, professional and did a great job.

Snell was very professional and cordial. The technician who came to my house put on shoe protectors prior to entering the house, and was very nice and patient while explaining what he was doing to the a/c. He also answered all of my questions about the unit.

It went really well. The tech was patient and answered all my questions. The service was also great; the tech was running behind and Snell called to alert me in the changed arrival time. They called again as it got closer to his new arrival time.

The technician arrived during the window provided. He was very knowledgable and explained everything he was doing. He also provided recommendations for the air flow problem I was experiencing in my master bedroom.

They performed exactly as I would expect an A rated firm to perform: professional, courteous, timely, even with a very big job that required the crew to stay late. They handled the rebate from the manufacturer and a form quality control auditor returned to inspect and ensure any punchlist items are addressed. Very satisfied.
