Snell Heating & Air Conditioning

Vendor asked that I purchase the Coupon in order to receive $40 off of HVAC service. Technician arrived onsite and performed diagnostic and refused to honor coupon. Contacted the vendor and vendor stated technician should have honored the voucher, however vendor directed me to contact Angie's List for a full refund.

I contacted them within a month after I purchased the big deal. I can’t remember if there was an additional charge on top of the $109 deal.

Snell Heating and Air came out last February to repair my heat pump which continued to run but the temperature was not going above 60 degrees in the house. Snell offered weekend hours which allowed me to call and make an appt as soon as I realized something was wrong. Ben came out right on time for my appt. and diagnosed and repaired the issue (dual capacitor) very quickly as well as did a check-over of the whole unit since it had not been tuned up for a few years. I have an old unit so was prepared for the worst, but he said the unit still had plenty of life in it! I used an Angie's List coupon which gave me $25 off the repair of $258 and diagnostic charge of $83 - they also gave me a $25 break on the cost of the dual capacitor. During that visit, I also signed up for the Club Membership which gives me a check-up twice a year for $135 - there were no high pressure sales tactics involved. I had been meaning to get regular check-ups and after the helpful and quick repair, I felt comfortable signing up with Snell for their "Comfort Club member" service. In July, Ben came out to perform my summer tune-up. He is extremely professional, personable and polite. Both times I have called to schedule a service, the people on the other end of the line have also been very helpful and nice. They also give you a call before your appt to let you know they are on their way. I would highly recommend Snell Heating and Air Conditioning based upon my experience.

Snell came out promptly and diagnosed a circuit board problem in my Gas Furnace. The price quoted was reasonable and they returned a few days later with the replacement board, installed promptly, and furnace was fixed. In addition, I asked the service man to check my humidifier on the gas furnace. He pointed out that the water filter/evaporator needed replacement which he did promptly. The service man also provided advice regarding replacing the filter in future and information about a replacement water heater All work was done to my satisfaction and we will use them again.

This was in part of an Angie's List promotion special. I have worked with Snell in the past and over time and time, they've always provided a thorough job with cleaning, inspection and maintenance recommendations. Excellent customer service, timely and clean!

Ben was the service inspector who came over in between the 12-4 timeframe, sometime around 2pm. I've had this service inspector before and he's always been great and very personable. He inspected the heating unit and was very thorough on his report but didn't take too long. I've used Snell for a few years now and have always had a great experience with them. Even in the past, they detected an issue with my 16 year old heating unit that was resolvable and affordable so even though this experience was just an inspection, they've been very honest and reputable and will continue to use them.

I spoke with the provider and they do not service my portion of the county.

They were wonderful. We look at three companies to replace our A/C. They came right away and they were very professional. It was a hot during that time frame and we had little children, so they even offered to bring portable A/C units for us to use at no charge until they could get our unit ordered and installed. The price was good and they threw out every rebate that they could.

They were great. They were very friendly and they didn't overcharge, which was great and they didn't corrupt with any other things that needed to be repaired. I think they're reputable.

I called Snell Heating and Air Conditioning and described the problem with our upstairs a/c unit. This is the first time in a long time; I was blown away with a company's customer service and responsiveness. Every person (font desk to repair technicians) I spoke to was just wonderful. The problem with system did not get repaired immediately. The system would work for a short time and then stop working after a couple of days. Their technicians thoroughly went through the unit trying to troubleshoot the issue which was not visible. They didn't try experiments by replacing pieces of the equipment like some companies do to resolve the issue when they don?t know how to fix. They didn?t charge me an arm and a leg. After 3 attempts, the unit was fixed. It turned out that two wires in the outside unit were too close to each other and when the unit turned on the motion would cause the wires to touch the system to shut down. Since the wires didn?t look like they were burnt it was hard to diagnose. The system has been up and working for over 2 week without any more issues. I was VERY pleased with this company.

We arrived home on Labor Day from a weekend away to find our AC was not working. Although it was a holiday, I left voicemails at several companies to see if we could get someone out to look at it ASAP. I immediately heard from Snell (I believe it was Dave) who, when I told him how the outside unit was sounding, advised me to turn it off to prevent damage, and keep only the fan running until a technician could come the next morning. German arrived the next day and immediately diagnosed the problem as a failed capacitor (that could have burned out and caused extensive damage if it hadn't been turned off!) German was efficient, professional, and took time to answer any questions I had, as well as check all the parts of the system, fixing as needed. Based on their responsiveness and professionalism, I would not hesitate to call Snell or recommend them in the future.

They did the work but two weeks later the upper zone heating unit shut down. It hasn't worked since. Yes, two winters without heat in the upper zone (second floor) of our house. We use the lower zone heating unit to heat the upper zone. Over the years, in dealing with multiple HVAC services, not just Snell, I have become less than satisfied and more suspicious of less than professional work. This is just another example of my dissatisfaction and my lack of faith in honest and reliable HVAC service calls. I did not call back...why, all I would get would be another bill.

On time, courteous, and fixed on the first visit.

They did a professional job. The interaction was fine. I would absolutely use them again.

They were awesome! There were no additional fees associated with the deal even when they came back out.

The technician, German, called me the night before to make sure it was ok to arrive at 8am. Not only was that ok with me, it was actually my preference. He arrived on time, was very polite and professional. He inspected the system, diagnosed the problem then explained what was wrong (failed capacitor and contactor) and showed it to me. The repair cost about $600, which I thought was a little expensive for such small parts, but probably consistent with other providers since most home repairs seem more expensive to me than they should be. I was very impressed with German, and ended up purchasing an annual maintenance contract as well, based on his recommendation. The unit is working fine now.

We asked Snell to come out to our house to give us a second opinion on two air conditioning units that we were told (by another company) needed to be replaced. WOW!!! We got great and practical advice from Snell; we will only need to replace one unit. Snell also gave us good advice on the energy efficient unit being pushed by the other company. Snell won our business and we look forward to having them work on the installation of the new unit. Fantastic job Snell!!!

Everything was fine. When I did have an issue, they came to fix it.

I chose this company based on my positive experience before. When I called they informed me I still had a credit left for the a/c tune up.

This service/repair experience was exactly what you always hope for. The technician was dispatched in a timely manner, was experienced and knowledgeable, and quickly got the AC running satisfactorily. I cannot recommend Vince or SNELL HEATING AND AIR more highly.

I cannot say enough good things about German of Snell Heating & Air. The care he exercised in investigating my issue and crafting specific solutions to specific problems (as opposed to just telling me I need a new unit) were appreciated and gave him credibility. He clearly communicated what the problems were and what he was doing and offered me sensible recommendations on what I could do to guard against problems in the future. (I accepted them.) German also welcomed questions and offered helpful answers. I will use this company again because they cared enough to hire and send me someone of German's caliber.

A technician came as advertised and performed the tuneups on our 2 zone a/c system. We had no serious issues on our 8 year old system. Some annoying up sales include $300+ clear discharge pipe so homeowner can see if tube is blocked. I consider frivolous when you agree abs pay for yearly tune ups with professionals. I consider this action par for course when electing these type of services. I politely listen to pitch and decline. There was no guilt trips by technician. I bought an advanced placement package in case if service need. Includes slight discount and 2 yearly tune ups, for heating or A/C.

It turned out well. They came out on the same day I booked the service and everything is working fine now. I appreciated the speed with which they came out, but I was slightly disappointed in their pricing structure.
