As painless as putting in new furnace could possibly be! Of course it broke during the deep freeze, so timing was important. They were able to quickly order the new one, and got the heat back on quickly. They also credited my initial $59 service call towards the job. They came back later to make sure the AC was up and running properly. I would definitely hire them again, but with any luck, that won't be for some time!

Ben was very courteous and efficient. He was careful to cover his shoes when he came into the house, and left no mess behind him. He explained to me exactly what he was doing at all times, and made sure that I was satisfied with the service that he provided. He also suggested some other work that needed to be done, and promised to get back with me to give me a quote for the additional services. With regard to the other suggested work, he did not apply any pressure to get me to agree to have the work done -- he simply gave me the information that I needed, promised to follow up with additional information, and left me to make the decision. Ben is a great representative for Snell. He is to be commended!

Identified and helped solve problem of freezing coils in AC. Serviced unit. Price for the servicing is very reasonable. The frozen coils were above and beyond a normal service visit and cost more, closer to what I consider an average price. In both cases, the schedulers, dispatchers, and technicians were very professional. I'm happy with this company so far and will continue to use their services. I am dropping the last company I used, which seemed to charge as much as they possibly could for routine and non-routine services, even for 'member' clients.

They were ontime and very professional. The service technician did a very thorough job of examining the system, and then sat down with me to describe what the issue was and the various options for fixing it.

As part of our twice yearly Comfort Club membership, Snell Heating and Air Conditioning (Snell) performed, yet again, our annual summer air conditioning tune up. Despite heavy demand for AC tune ups this time of the year, the folks at Snell found time to get us on their schedule. The technician, Zach, arrived on time and was extremely professional. We could tell he was taking his time to fully inspect the inside and outside components of our AC. He did not rush even with the high heat and humidity he experienced while outside. Before departing, Zach went over the results of his inspection and took time to ask and answer our questions. We've been working with Snell for several years now, and look forward to working with them again in the future for all of our HVAC needs.

Well, the switch worked for about a week then the unit went out completely. The tech (different from the first one) came out the next day (good timing) and stayed for about 2 hours to diagnose the real issue-- we needed a new outdoor unit. While our warranty for the unit would cover the unit, the labor fee was not covered. The sales manager called us to let us know he ordered the outdoor unit without details of cost or date of installation. He finally called by the end of the day saying we would be charged $2000 for labor fee and it would be installed Thursday at 1pm. He never called back and by Thursday at 1pm with no one showing, we called to find out what happened. They said it would be Friday at 7am and the fee would still be 2,000 even though my husband questioned that fee the first day since we had them out the week prior and the fix was unsuccessful. My husband told him that was unacceptable as we had already paid nearly $400 the week before for part described above. They lowered the fee to $1600 and did the work. While the techs were pleasant and did a fine job installing the outdoor unit, we are discouraged by the fact that Snell was less than responsive when it came to discussing the warranty and fees. While it was lowered by 400, we still paid the full 2,000 on a unit we feel was sold to us as a lemon BY Snell 3 1/2 years prior when we spent $10,000+ When I asked the manager to call me regarding the installation/labor warranty, they never returned my call but have managed to call me TWO times to get the pin for the credit card so that they could receive their money. Just unacceptable and I am disheartened by a company that apparently has so many good reviews. What a disappointment this experience has been. We feel our hands were tied and we were forced to pay these fees as there are few Amana dealers and we need to go with an Amana dealer in order to receive the unit under warranty and continue with the warranty that is left over. (Note: professionalism got a C because the techs after the first visit were great however the one tech and manager was not.)

It took 2 weeks to get them to my house He spent very little time looking at my unit just said it is leaking and needs to be replaced. He told me it would cost $400 dollars to trouble shoot the leaks Gave me a quote of 8-9 thousand dollars to replace. He told me they would have to cut a large hole in my ceiling to get the new unit in and that I would have to hire a company to patch the hole. He was very professional but I felt like I got very little for my $59. After the the Snell technician left I called Nova Mechanical Services Inc. They are located in my neighborhood. One hour later one of their technicians was at my house compared to 2 weeks for Snell. He spent a good hour and a half troubleshooting the leaks. He used a special electronic tool to identified the leaks. Snell offered this service for and additional $400. The Nova Mechanical Tech showed me the areas were the leaks were bad and took time to explain my options. He proposed a near identical solution as Snell. He recommended replacing the unit. His proposed solution was the same size and seer rating but did not require a hole in my ceiling. His quote was $5800 which was significantly less than the Snell quote. It is being installed on 6/11 9 days start to finish. It took Snell two weeks just to get out to look at it.

Rep was very professional and listened to our issues and concerns with the system. Also provided good communication throughout the evaluation of the system.

Signed up for the wrong type of service but they gave me a credit towards any repairs. They were busy and couldn't come out for nearly 10 days but that wasn't an issue since we were leaving for vacation. Customer Service called the day of to alert me when the repair man was arriving and he was their as scheduled. Did a full inspection and offered two options: 1. recharge the system for $432 (seemed high but it is a CFC and it isn't produced anymore so it is going to get more expensive every year) or 2. get a new system since this one was old. Went with option 1. Service man was nice and informative and would recommend him to anyone that needs AC or heat service.

called and made a appointment for replacing thermostat. Told them in front multiple times that the new thermostat can be wireless controlled and will be much more complicated than regular job. I was assured that the technician will be able to do the job. It turned out the technician found no fifth wire and recommended not to replace such thermostat. Long story short. I had to pay $59 for a diagnose not intended in the front and install another thermostat by myself later. But to be fair, the technician did notice a issue with the heating and proved to be the case.

We were having issues with our upstairs level being too hot, and the main level not cool enough. The technician was very patient has he went through and tested the various vents and dampers. He marked the seasons on the dampers so I knew exactly where to move the dampers. He went through everything in detail and said to call again if we felt this did not fix our problem.

It was a day before we were expecting snow. The heater stopped working. This was due to a part that I later found to cost only $100 on Amazon. I was charged over 4 times the cost of the part including labor. The part takes about 10 minutes max to replace; 3 screws and one power wire connector. I was also given a quote to replace the fans at a cost of over $2000. I later replaced one fan myself ($140 for the small fan) It took me 30 minutes to do. I was in a bind and the repairman here knew it. I'm confused and have lost a bit of faith with Angieslist here as the reviews are numerous and glowing for this company. I won't be using them in the future.

Great. Gentleman was very exact, told us where we stood and what we needed to do and then did it quickly and professionally. Air conditioning unit is working fine now, but will need to be replaced in the next year and we will use this company

The gentleman was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and their price estimate on the replacement was the lowest of the three we received.

Told me what was wrong and on checking with other providers this was right. Just took a while to make an appointment time. had to ring and schedule in the end. I have found this with coupons on Angies List. Providers think because we have prepaid that they already have that customer and delaying their needs are OK.

Very good diagnosis.But by checking with other providers on AL, I got a much better price for the repair. Also they push a club which is supposed to give you a discount of 10% - 20%. That locks you into a service agreement. Without the discount their estimate was $743

Technician came on time and did a great job. He recommended to replace heat pump instead of fixing broken compressor. I think his recommendation is right because our system is almost around 13 years. However, his estimation was little bit less than $7000 with 2.5 tons Lenox brand. I thought it is kind of little bit expensive price even with "better" heat pump. So, it is OK to ask them to check your system but carefully make a decision after getting many estimation. Overall, it is OK to get estimation but I don't want to call them again.

A technician Kevin came out and was extremely professional and very informative. He LOVES his job and this company. It was a simple solution and was in & out within 30 minutes. I enjoyed his honestly and was patient with questions. I will use them again, AND request Kevin!!! Sandie Barkeit

We have two rooms that are colder than the rest o the house. The serviceman checked out the operation of our boiler and found that the system is operating normally but thaf insulation upgrades had worked better in the other rooms of the house, leaving those rooms cooler. Very experienced technician, I will call them again.
