It went well. I gave a "Fair" rate because their assessment was similar to the one given by other companies, but those other companies did it with no cost. Other than that, they were very knowledgeable and professional. I recommend it.

I purchased a coupon on Angie's List for a diagnostic service call with unlimited diagnostic time. It was money well spent. I received an email follow up from Snell within the hour of completing the purchase and was able to schedule their technician, Mike, to come later in the afternoon. We have an older home, which we purchased a few years ago, and don't know the history of the A/C units. I was interested in understanding more about our system and how we might address the significant temperature disparity between the main level and upstairs. Mike did a thorough inspection of our indoor and outdoor units, adjusted the dampers, (which helped), and spent over an hour providing us information on why we are experiencing issues and short and longer-term options. He was so straight forward and is clearly very knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions thoroughly. We opted out of a service contract since given the age of our system, it's not worth it. But, when we are ready to invest in a new system, we would definitely reach out to Snell again, and would want to work with Mike.

Called Snell first thing in the morning and they were able to send someone out the same day to take a look at our AC unit that had been cutting in and out the night before. Justin came out and he was terrific. He answered our questions and explained our system to us. Of course it had decided to fix itself by the time Justin came out, but he suggested a few possible problems, one of which is the motor. Rather than give us the "doomsday" scenario to try and upsell us, he was candid and explained that we did not need to change the motor today if it appeared to be running. He gave us a lot of information and which helped us make an informed, unpressured decision. I am glad he came to our house. If/when we need to change the motor or more, we will definitely call Snell and ask for Justin.

We bought a deal for a service call. (AC not cooling - it is a leak). During that he diagnosed what we pretty much knew was going to be the problem (as we've had it before) He refilled coolant. It is expensive, but similar to what we paid other companies. They did a decent job and we bought a service contract. We had them back again because the leak in our AC must have gotten worse and within 2 months we weren't cooling again. (Last time we'd had it filled it lasted over a year). Since it is expensive to fill, we asked them to send someone who could also give us a quote on a new system. They have been here, so they should know we have an attic unit, but the guy they sent said he was not qualified to quote that kind of system and someone else would have to come. I paid for the service and refill, but they said they would take it off the cost of a new system if we buy within 30 days. He also scheduled the person on the spot for the next week. On the day the next guy was supposed to come give us a price for a new system, I called for a more exact time than the window given, and they said they did not have us on the schedule and rescheduled us for this week (yesterday). I got a call yesterday that the guy was sick and they'd have to reschedule again. So, while the service was good and responsive to start with, I'm getting frustrated that they sent someone unqualified for what I asked for and have not come back in what I would consider an appropriate time frame.

Very high pressure sales call. Insisted I needed new wiring, additional vents etc. Actual estimate came via email more than a week after the visit and after I had work performed by another provider. Ended up going with a local provider and saved $3000. The $59 house call was a waste of money.

The technician arrived on time and cleaned and inspected our HVAC system. He was very professional. The cost of the annual service plan that provides semi-annual visits was the same cost for one visit at our previous house in another state.

Snell is the best! The techs are professional and prompt. You always talk to a live person when you call and they will have a tech call you back to help diagnose the issue. I wouldn't ever call another a/C place!

Our Heat pump in the attic stop functioning. The unit was not very old and we did the basic checks to see what was the problem. Purchased the Big Deal and assumed that they would identify exactly what the issue was and provide an estimate for repair. The vendor identified basic issue, which I already knew. In order to pin point the exact problem, we were requested to pay an additional amount for this estimate. Maybe I misunderstood the big deal but I though they would identify the exact issue within the big deal. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt because, I have used this company in the past and they are very professional and accommodating.

The total cost of the repair was about $280.00 and they also recharged my AC unit.

Their quote was high for parts and labor though for a repair.

Justin arrived on time, was very professional and found the problem right away. The repaired required him to come back, which he did at the time and date he promised, and fixed the problem promptly. We will certainly use this company again.

The installation went without a hitch. My only gripe---and it's a minor one---is that the technician didn't do much to explain how and when to adjust the system. Fortunately, it's mostly intuitive, but the dial offers far more adjustment options than appear to be recommended, so it would have been nice to have that explained. That's why I rated them B for responsiveness.

They arrived on time and did a thorough inspection. Our AC unit is very old (which we knew) and they suggested getting a new one, but we will need to get back to them about that. . In the mean time they recharged the unit and it is working very well. The guy that came out was very knowledgeable and he did a great job.

The technician was very friendly and professional. He quickly figured out the reason my AC was not working and had the part on his truck. The system has been working aver since. I also had a 20 point inspection performed and the technician went out of his way to clean the coils on my air handler.

Great experience. They came out. We were expecting the worst. They confirmed our expectation but helped us stay at easy throughout the whole process. They gave us the best options. We replaced the whole AC unit. Job wasn't cheap but was done up to expectations. I would use again. (HOPEFULLY NOT SOON)

Awesome service, especially on a Sunday.

The install crew arrived on time and explained what they were going to do. Very courteous and professional. The job so done so well that the Loudoun County inspector said that this was the best install he'd ever seen. Am very happy with the entire experience.

Our system failed during the really really cold weather this past winter and we were impressed both by the speed with which Snell responded and the professionalism and conscientiousness of every Snell employee/representative with whom we interacted. The technician did a thorough trouble-shooting job before narrowing it down to the heater board - he explained what was going on and after we decided the best course of action would be to replace the entire system, he tried to re-wire it so we would have at least the heat-pump working. Unfortunately, he was unable to do so safely because of some issues with how it was previously wired - and we appreciated both his attempt and his integrity in advising us it would be unsafe and he wasn't comfortable doing it. The Snell folks were able to give us a quote on a new system right away and that process was great as well - they made good suggestions on what system would work best for us given the size and layout of the house - and it wasn't the most expensive one either - answered all our questions, and weren't at all pushy. In addition, they helped us figure out financing options (we weren't expecting this big an expense at that point in time) and their customer service/finance folks were able to get us a 12 month no interest financing deal to help us make it happen quickly. We did some quick comparison shopping and found their estimate to be very reasonable and given the great customer service so far - we decided to purchase the system and installation services from them. Since we had to replace the whole system, we opted to move the exterior unit to the side (rather than back) of the house, and they also replaced all of the wiring back to the panel to ensure the system was safe. We had a team of three for the installation. They showed up right on time, and were extremely respectful of our house - using booties and drop clothes where needed indoors and checking in to make sure everything was put where we wanted it. Despite the cold, wet day - they did an excellent job installing a secure base for the exterior unit on a slope. Their work installing the new run for the electrical and coolant pipes was clean and precise, they sealed holes in the wall/siding at the previous exterior location, and they did some pretty expert on-site metal crafting to ensure all the duct work linked up and sealed appropriately. They also walked us through how the system worked, and made sure we had all the manuals - even creating a storage pocket for them on the side of the air handler. The team was able to complete installation in one day (albeit a very long day), and were very responsive when we called the next day with a question about the system. Our new system is still working like a champ (much better than the old one!) and we won't hesitate to work with them again in the future, or to recommend them to friends and family.

Bought a brand new air conditioner from another company in November along with a furnace when our heat went out. Now that the hot weather is here, we found the AC we bought was just not cooling the house well enough. We had a contract with the company and the new AC was still under it's one-year warranty. After several visits by the company technicians, we were basically told there was nothing wrong with it and we should be happy. Looked on Angie's list for a second opinion and found Snell. They immediately diagnosed it is as a defective Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) and said it was obvious to see that as the problem. Notified the original company to come out again and inspect the TXV. They found it defective and replaced it and we started getting cool air. They asked how we knew what was wrong when they missed it before. We told them we got a second opinion from Snell. Saved us $1400.

The service was good. The work was completed promptly. I recommend them.

The AC was leaking and called SNELL and scheduled an appointment for weekend The windows was 4 hours wide, but they made it outside the window Was told that the issue is with draining pipe, they cleaned and put that back I asked to check if there are other issues, but was told that the AC is very old and should be replaced. Also, was told that equipment was not installed properly and didn't want to touch it and become his problem. reinstalling would cost more than replacing was told too. That didn't solve the problem. I had to open and clean the pan that collects the water, because the water was not going to the draining pipe and was building up and going backwards. Bottom time, I fixed that myself.

AC not blowing cold air. Called Snell and asked for same day service, that was not possible and was scheduled next date (today) The Tech came on time, and was professional Diagnosed and found the issue to be a weak/failed capacitor and told me that would cost $312 only for parts and labor Expected that labor to be included in the diagnose since that was purchase via Angie's List for $59 and that included unlimited diagnose time Replaced the Capacitor in 15 minutes Will check if that solved the problem when I get back in home.

The contractor, albeit nice and informative, tracked dirt all over our home. Only wore booties walking in. Did not use them again stepping in and out. Boot. Prints. Everywhere... Also, I have a temp probe thermometer and have been measuring the drop with an average reading of ~10-15 degrees. I asked the contractor what the temperature difference was and he said 7 degrees. I've never had a reading like that even on days much hotter and more humid than today. Exaggeration perhaps to offer more justification for the $440 job? He also left the outside closet unit door open, light on, and trash. But again, boot tracks of dirt everywhere. The recharge of refrigerant was necessary though no doubt about that. So I mean all in all I guess it's all good.

Repairman was on-time and very professional. Repairman discovered that the breaker switch was flipped off and turned it back on, however after further inspection of the unit he showed me that the contactor (electrical component) was burned and caused the breaker to flip. Repairman showed me flat rate price to replace component in his book was $432. I authorized the work and it was done quickly. The only issue is the discounts shown here on Angie's list. It shows $40 off for any repair, but you have to pay first! That doesn't make any sense, repairman wouldn't give me the $40 off since I couldn't print a certificate from Angie's List. The logic is very bizarre, pay $40 in advance to have them reduce the bill by $80, as opposed to just allowing me to print the coupon to give to the serviceman to get the $40 discount. So I paid the full price and didn't get the $40 discount advertised here on Angie's list.
