Snell Heating & Air Conditioning

Technician was prompt for appointment. Quickly detected the need for refrigerant. Refrigerant cost prohibitive without service contract (much higher than some companies). We had to reschedule the initial Bi-annual appointment due to weather. Technician was prompt for new appointment - Professional, completed inspections in a timely manner, explained each inspection.

They came the next day to replace it. I was shocked to hear they charged $842. It only took them an hour to finish the job. The cost of the motor was $75.

It went great starting from the very friendly and helpful people on the phone and ending with saying goodbye to the technician a few hours later. Loyd was thorough and left no stone unturned. Great service.

I placed a call and the persons on the phone were soft spoken, courteous and professional. Within an hour their diagnostic engineer was at our home and fixed all that could be. Explained very lucidly what the issues were in a manner I could understand. These guys know their tools, science and engineering very well and excellent at problem solving. Good job Snell!

I've used Snell previously for issues I've had with an oil furnace in a rental property. The previous issue was taken care of without issue (it was a very simple fix), but when I called them out for this one, I was told by the tenant that the representative showed up, looked at the system, and stated that they don't service oil units. Snell's was supposed to follow-up with a call to discuss with me, but never did. Admittedly, it was my mistake not to confirm they handled oil units before having them come out, but I assumed they did after the previous service call.

It was fine. The only thing was it took a long time for them to come out. I guess they were busy. I bought the coupon and I called them to schedule. They said they were backed up and can't get here for a month and a half. If I had known in advance, I probably would have used a different company. Their price was fine. It was what I expected. The quality seemed fine. Their responsiveness was fine. They called right back and we talked immediately but it was just that they were backed up. They were fine. You have to buy the coupon before you get in touch with them which created the problem. I wish I had known and I would have called them in advance to ask them when they can come out. If they would have said two months, then I would try somebody else first.

The service technician they sent out was very good and knowledgeable. Was very honest about condition and did not try to up sell which I really appreciated. i will most certainly be contacting them when I need a new furnace and AC unit. I was very impressed by the professionalism. Was also happy that they were able to fit me in their schedule right before a big snow storm when I know they were very busy. I purchased a maintenance package from Angies List and am very happy that I did.

Really great- they were throughout, explained everything, and gave us a detailed options of next steps. I also appreciated they were on-time and called to let us know they were on route.

I called them at 7:50am because I needed my furnace fixed. I had used them before. It was very very cold and the temperature outside was 29 degrees. They told me they would be at my home between 3pm - 7pm and the technician would call me when they were on the way. The technician called at 2:05pm to tell me he was on his way. He called back about 5 minutes later and told me that they didn't service my area anymore. I was flabbergasted. After talking to the scheduler early this morning and they verified my address and verified that I used them before, they scheduled me. However hours later after waiting in a cold house for them to come out and fix my furnace, I was told that they no longer service my area. That was truly unacceptable. Since they made the mistake they should have came out anyway.

The company requires you to wait for coils to melt if frozen over. It takes 24 or more hours. When this happens to your coils its often in a heatwave. It is not a very efficient service when your client is in burning heat of a house to tell them to wait. Other co have suggest a hot air blower (like a industrial hair dryer with high heat that could melt coils on the spot so you can go ahead with the dianostics/repair or replacement of unit. This was the main reason I did not do work with them They are also slightly higher priced - but was not a deciding factor. One lady that answers the phone is like the "perpetual No I can't" type of person. ""sorry you will have to wait" and many other phrases you should never say to a very hot family on the phone. A little more of what CAN be done would have helped me. I lost it with that one on the phone! On a more positive note: I did feel techs were honest and knowledgable

The technician was good and knowledgeable and seemed to perform the service well. He recommended cleaning the blower assembly and condenser coil, however, the price for he quoted for his company to do this seemed high to me. Later I confirmed with another, similar service provider that it was about 40% higher than what they would charge. My thought is that they might be charging premium prices because of their high review ratings.

ok - said our heating system was working fine, but old technology

The representative who proved to me why Snell is number one - his name is "Italo" - is why I have heat in my house after going all Fall without it. The original provider who installed my new compressor did not know what they were doing and my unit was simultaneously generating AC and heating at the same time - my utility bills were three times what they should have been and I was always freezing. Italo from Snell correctly diagnosed the problem and went above and beyond to fix it. I do not know what I would have done without their expertise and generosity in helping me when the other provider would not honor the warranty. I wish I had Snell install the compressor in the first place. I have had many prior horror stories regarding HVAC installation and service and could have avoided all of that if I had only gone with Snell in the first place. I owe Snell, and Italo in particular, a great debt of gratitude for all they did for me.

I have been using Snell for AC and Heating/Boiler maintenance and repair for a few years. Friendly, professional folks. Always looking to keep my systems running well as long as possible. Super happy with everything they've done.

This rep was professional, just like the other reps I've had from Snell. He arrived on time. He was happy to let me watch him do the work. He explained everything to me. I have been completely satisfied with the work Snell has done, with the quality (and the friendliness) of each and every Snell rep. This Snell rep identified an issue with the billing for my Snell service contract, and he made the adjustment for me, quickly an easily. Snell techs are talented. I stay with Snell, because their techs are friendly, as well. You will be pleased with the Snell reps, be they the on-site reps, or the persons who answer the phone. You will be pleased with Snell.

Well. Prior technician from other providers did not check capacitors. Now I notice a difference.

Mike arrived promptly and was extremely courteous, personable, and well-informed. He began by examining our thermostat and outdoor (air conditioning) unit, then went down to the basement. He patiently explained the operation of the furnace, including the use of dampers. (This furnace in particular, a gas furnace in general, and dampers were all new to me.) I very much felt that I got my money's worth for this tutorial and for maintenance. Mike *did* push for us to add on units (a high-end filter, a humidifier, and an ultra-violet light); however, he readily accepted my statement that we weren't prepared to spend extra money at this time. We willingly signed up for an ongoing "club" program, so that Snell can do regular maintenance on our A/C and furnace. My one concern was with the substantial time delay between my buying the coupon for maintenance on Angie's List and my being able to schedule a visit. It had never occurred to me that I would need to wait nearly six weeks after paying for service!

Very knowledgeable, fixed a problem nobody else seemed to understand for the past 12 years. Thankful for your technician, knew exactly what to do and now the whole house is getting heat. Would highly recommend

The technician is very knowledgeable about the system and found the compressor problem and made a recommendation to replace the whole system, instead of replacing the aging compressor.

The representatives from Snell were very helpful and were able to send a technician out on the day that I requested service. I was very glad that they were able to come out, diagnose, and fix the problem so quickly. The representative was courteous, kind, and explained the situation to me and to my husband. My only issue was that the cost of the repair was so large. The problem had been that the wiring had melted through the improper nut, so that the nut needed to be taken off, the wiring stripped, and a better nut needed to be put on that could take all of the heat. The total amount of time that the repairs took was approximately 1 hour. This cost us $59 in diagnostics and $194 in actual repair costs. While the service was timely and well done, the cost was very high. I'm not sure that we will use them again in the future.

They wanted $400 to put about 1.5lb of freon in. Did not proceed.

We called to buy their diagnostic deal and were told that we are out of their service area! We live in Loudoun county and about 10 min west of Leesburg! A gentleman Joseph or Joe told us that we are too close to Maryland!
