He worked carefully with us and custom designed what we needed. This visit, which was just a bi-annual checkup was like every visit--he carefully checks every detail, makes adjustments as necessary, and patiently answers any questions, He wears booties each time he comes inside. Couldnt be happier with Ben from Snell!

+ -1 moreExcellent. Snell honored the warranty on the coil even though the warranty had just expired and replaced it within a week or two. This wasn't a problem since the old one was still working just starting to lose coolant. There was no charge for this work. The AC tune-up and advice was just $79. It was an Angie's List special. I was told my unit was operating properly and the advice on the refrigerant line helped me decide on how to proceed with my basement remodeling. I needed to know if the line would be usable for when the time comes to replace my outside unit. I didn't want to remodel the basement and then have to tear it up again to replace that line, but that looks to be not a problem now.
Description of Work: Couple of different things. My daughter needed to have a coil replaced that was installed last year, but the warranty had just expired, and I needed a AC tune-up along with an opinion on replacing the refrigerant line from the blower to the outside unit.

I went on Angie’s List to look and see what their ratings was. They have an outstanding rating for their technicians. They did a beautiful job at the end of May 2016. It was $19,000 for a Lennox heat pump.

+ 0 moreGreat job. Ben was thorough, efficient, and patient when answering our questions during the service. Unfortunately, after 20 years of very reliable service, our Amana is on its last legs. Ben provided useful options to replace our existing furnace with precise costs in a very patient and professional way, and provided time for us to do our own research. Overall a great and useful experience at a time when it is still warm enough outside to decide on the option we wish to take. We have been a Comfort Club member of Snell Heating and Air Conditioning for over 20 years and they have never let us down. Snell's team is well trained, considerate, take the time to do it right.

+ 0 moreEnded up paying $389 for 4 lbs of R22 refrigerant which is way overpriced. To get that special price (original price was even more expensive $432) I had to pay $85 for an annual contract. Granted this includes a fall furnace maintenance inspection. So total for this call ended up being $474. Never got to use the Angies coupon for HVAC service call and complete diagnosis of the issue of 59$ so you need to add that to the total price. I never got a written estimate for the furnace/ac replacement.

+ 0 moreThe diagnosis from this company was to change the fan and the motor at $1200+ (almost cost of a new unit :-)). The motor was fine the fault was with the thermostat with a lose connection :-(. Had another electrician troubleshoot and fix it.

+ 0 moreTHEY ARE THE BEST - HIRE THEM! Snell is the best. After using Snell a few years for general maintenance our old AC system gave out on a sweltering Friday night in August 2016 (only 2 weeks after they had been out for a regular maintenance appointment). They came out on a Saturday to charge our system to get us by for a few days then fully replaced our HVAC system that Thursday. Less than a week passed in total!! I was impressed with the speed and quality of their service as well as the friendliness of their staff. They're not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and these guys are worth every penny. We had an issue with a part a few weeks after the new system was installed (which was a manufacturer issue) and Snell worked with us to quickly address it. I love Snell. .
Description of Work: General maintenance twice a year and an emergency HVAC system replacement in 2016.

+ -1 moreWe have an annual contract with them for the HVAC check-up for two units for the spring and winter check-up. I used them for a number of years and I switched over from another HVAC company because I wasn't happy with their responsiveness. Sometimes you have the contract and they're supposed to put you at the front of the line when you have an issue. Then when an issue really comes up, you find out that's not necessarily true. I was not happy with my first HVAC company and I switched over to Snell and I've just been very impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism. They have done our HVAC maintenance but they've also installed two new units. They've done a lot of work in our house.

+ 0 moreBecause the technician was clearly not paying attention to the job I hired him to do, since he was texting a majority of the time is my guess, his mistake cost me $330+ for the new AC guy to come to my unit and since I was not aware that the unit was running continuously, again, due to his error, it more than doubled my KwH for the month for an electricity bill of $220+. I was told that the significant increase in my electricity was due to a faulty AC unit by Dominion. I called Snell 3 times to ask what they could do about their technician doing faulty work and costing me more than $500 and I was told a bunch of excuses and that they would get back to me, which they never did.
Description of Work: My AC unit stopped working sometime while I was on vacation. When I came home to no AC I called Snell to help me get it back up and running. It turns out the compressor overheated so we needed to get it cooled down. This required opening the unit and pouring cold water into it. I was the one running up and down the stairs getting water to do so (there was not a hose near enough to spray directly on the unit) all the while the tech was texting on his phone. Dispatch told me that they talk with their employees via text which is fine but he spent more time texting than he did helping. When the technician was done, he said it was working fine (it was putting out cold air) but it was making a weird sound. I attributed that to it being an old unit (20+ years old) and relied on him saying it was working fine. After about a month of the noise I called my regular AC guy to come take a look to see if he could do anything to quiet it as it was really getting on my nerves. He told me that the technician from Snell wired the unit to run continuously (even if I put it on auto on the interior fixture) when he shouldn't have. Once they reconnected the wires correctly the noise stopped.

+ -1 moreThey could have done the work and made money but instead they explained to me how an inline fan would not help and what I really needed was to have more insulation added in my attic along with an attic fan. I appreciate the honesty. Now I'm off to find an insulation company.
