Snell Heating & Air Conditioning

Snell did a great job of installation and reconfiguration of existing ducting etc. Installers were very good and explained everything clearly. Only problem was the next day the existing humidifier attached to the outflow side came undone and allowed water to pour over areas beneath. Snell claimed they did not install the unit or work on it (although the installers had to climb up past it to get behind the furnace), so they claimed it was just poorly installed by the previous company. This was probably true however it had managed to be fine for about 3 years. Snell sent a tech back to our home and he re-attached the humidifier, had it working again, but no cleanup of water or water damage.

Very responsive service. Outstanding professional service technician. Very ambiguous explanation regarding the cost. Essentially I was charged $851 for a service call and installation of the motor assembly w/circuit board, which according to Snell the part was covered under an extended Trane warranty. I will admit I DID sign the work order and paid the invoices.

Expensive, but Snell provided a discount to the price (if you joined their program, which also provided periodic tune-ups). Snell also accommodated my need for the work to be done on weekends.

Arrived on time, considering its complexity, the quality of the job was good.

Great! Tim arrived right on time - we received a call prior to his arrival time as well as an email with his photo and short bio as well as a message he was on the way - reassuring to have that info. He was in a nice uniform - very professional young man. He got to work right away and answered all of our questions thoroughly. We feel that he serviced our AC well and really cared that all of our questions were answered and that we were satisfied with the service. We received an emailed receipt before he was out of our driveway! All in all a first rate company with customer service as a priority.

Great. We had a coupon for $72 for a Gas Furnace or Heat Pump System Tune-Up and Water Heater Inspection. We had a whining belt as well. They recommended we join their service club, and lubricated or replaced the belt, so it ended up costing a little over $100. (Maybe 143?) We received a detailed breakdown of service options for the HVAC that were very transparent.

Technician did a wonderful job fixing my AC was extremely responsive and took pains explaining the issue and resolution.

The company arrived promptly and performed the inspection. They provided an in-depth report. The technician was willing to answer questions that arose from his report. My experience was that the company is very professional. I would recommend them.

I recently moved into a new home and wanted to get a regular maintenance program for the heating and air conditioning. I’ve always had one with my previous homes because I know what it’s like to have the heat stop working in the winter and the air conditioner stop working in the summer. It’s not a fun experience and having a maintenance program helps to ensure that everything is working the way it should be, and when it’s not, that things get fixed and back to working properly - quickly! A neighbor recommended I try Snell, so I gave them a call and signing up was quick and easy. A couple weeks later, Riley and Lloyd came out to inspect everything and perform a maintenance check. Riley and Lloyd were extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and thorough! In the course of their inspection, they realized that my programmable thermostats were not programmed efficiently. They were programmed fine and working just fine, but the way the builder/original installer had programmed them to work, was not the most efficient. As such, I was spending a lot more money than I needed to on heating my house! Like I said, the thermostats, heat, air conditioning, etc…everything was working just fine, so I had no reason to suspect that there might be an issue and since it was working fine, Riley and Lloyd certainly did not have to take the time to deal with this issue, but they did. They knew the thermostats could be programmed in a better way and that I could be saving money – about 40-50% on my electric bill! Once they explained it to me, I was frustrated with myself for not having called Snell sooner! And although it might sound easy, reprogramming the thermostats (there were 3) was not a quick and easy process. It definitely took extra time that Riley and Lloyd had not planned on, but they took the time, reprogrammed all three thermostats, and made sure that each one was now functioning properly. Riley and Lloyd went above and beyond! They were not just committed to doing a job, but they were committed to doing a job well and doing it correctly! They could have opted to not say anything (like I said, it was working fine) and be on their way to the next job, but they put the customer’s best interest first and for that I am extremely grateful! Each time I get my electric bill, I am thankful to Riley and Lloyd, and so happy that I signed up with Snell!

Riley was punctual, professional, and courteous. He performed the job as described and also was able to enlighten me on things I needed to be aware about of my HVAC system.

Gary A arrived on time and did a really nice job addressing my questions and fixing the problem with my HVAC system. In the middle of the service call, our neighborhood power went out and Gary remained at my house and fixed the problem with limited lighting which was making the situation even more difficult.

Snell did a great job. I purchased a year long maintenance deal (2 separate visits). On the first visit, they identified a leak in the A/C coil. Given that the A/C had been failing to keep the house cool, this seemed like a pretty accurate diagnosis. I ended up having a different company replace the A/C and furnace (I wanted American Standard and Snell provides a different brand). On their second visit they found that our six month old blower motor had developed an oil leak. They properly documented the problem and I was able to to get my blower motor replaced under warranty with the other company. All told, the service techs were knowledgeable and willing to answer questions and both properly ID'd problems that were later confirmed with another provider. As such, I'd say they were competent, honest, and professional - exactly what you would want from a HVAC company.

I had requesting a quote on getting some venting re-routed and figured I may as well get the furnace tuned up - big mistake. Technican took a picture of the vent with his phone and sent it to his boss, I was quoted $2,200 for the job. No measurements were taken by the tech in regards to material etc. First red flag. Second, during the "tune-up" the tech took out the capacitor of the furnace and said it was out of tolerance. Understandable. I asked him how much it cost, response was ~$200.....have a manual of the furnace on my desktop - looked up the capacitor and it costs $7 online. So essentially this guy took a cap out of an old furnace, measured it, then quoted me $200 to replace it. Basically, they are pushing parts and charging an hour of labor for very minor "issues". Oh and it should be noted I asked the technician, "where is the capacitor located on the furnace". He absolutely wouldn't show me. I wanted to see if he actually took the part out, there is a good chance he didn't and just runs around w/ a cap out of tolerance to push parts with. Second red flag. Do not purchase HVAC systems from them, via estimates on homeadvisor your going to see they are charge the absolutely maximum in regards to estimates, upwards of 12k+ for a new system. Third red flag. Lastly, they are going to try and push a "service plan", where for twice a year you can pay them $130 to come by your house "tune up" your system, and push $200 parts (that actually cost $7) on you. Avoid at all costs.

Went well. They diagnosed the issue and recharged the refrigerant. Very professional and knowledgeable. Great to work with and great customer service.

The problem ended up being a broken disconnect box (which requires an electrician), but the repairman, David, was so professional, kind, and courteous. We will definitely be using them again!

Professional from the friendly person on the phone all the way to the end. Everything was flawless!! Dave was great! I paid for the service in the morning and Snell scheduled me for that same afternoon! Cannot ask for anything better than this! If only everything in life were this perfect! A+++++

The work was done very well. Dave came right on time and was efficient looking at all of the various devices. He provided some helpful tips on things, since I'm completely ignorant of heat pumps/furnaces. I ended up purchasing a package for both winter and spring maintenance so I'll be getting another visit in a few months.
