Following my review, Snell's customer care representative contacted me to hear about my experience and concerns with its Big Deal posting. After our discussion, Snell satisfied my concerns and offered a reduced diagnostic service fee, plus would honor the initial $80 off of service work for a future HVAC need. This issue was resolved within a few days, but in the interim I had scheduled an appointment with an Angie's List competitor so could not back out of my commitment to the second provider. The customer care manager, Kim, is very professional and committed to satisfaction of Snell's customers. When booking your appointments for Big Deals for this or potentially other service calls, be sure to ask upfront if additional fees are involved in a service call - travel, diagnostic, service repair, parts, etc. I cannot judge price, quality or punctuality based on my experience - though overall I would give highest marks for Kim's professionalism, second highest to responsiveness, and overall experience average would be a B after the initial encounters.

I have heard of companies using PR firms who pay people to give the company a good review and I am thinking that is what has happened here as that is the only plausible explanation for so many good reviews that were totally opposite of our experience with this company. First of all let me say that my husband is a contractor so we are fairly reasonable and patient when it comes to dealing with contractors. We called Snell as our air conditioning unit would not hold a charge so we knew we had a leak or other issue. They scheduled an appointment for 9am to 1pm on Wednesday, May 22nd. My husband took off work that morning to meet the contractor. At 1pm they called and said the technician was running a little late and would be there within the hour. Okay, at least they called. When 3:30 rolled around and he still had not arrived, I called (no one called us) and spoke to a very unapologetic representative who said the technician would be there shortly. He arrived around 4:00. Had we known, my husband could have worked in the morning (actually he could have put in almost a full day!). The technician did a thorough test of the system and said we would need a new evaporator coil. My husband told him we would discuss that evening and call them to schedule the repair. On Friday, May 24th I called to schedule the repair. The representative told me she needed to talk to someone to find out how long it would take to get the part and someone would call me back to schedule. I waited for a return call, but nothing that day, or Monday (Memorial Day so that is understandable), or Tuesday??finally I called them back on Wednesday and it was as if I was calling them for the first time. Again I was told someone would call me back, but nothing. Thursday I called again and after explaining our situation, the person scheduled the repair for Monday, June 3rd starting between 8 and 9am. She said if by chance the part did not arrive in time they would call to reschedule. Sunday evening we received a call confirming our appt. Monday AM (again taking off work for the repair) we waited??..at 9:30 I called and was told they needed to check with dispatch. We received a return call a half hour later and was told that they did not have the part! More unnecessary time off of work and continued poor customer service. The representative told me she would check on when the part was to arrive and would call me back that afternoon - - I confirmed that we should expect a call that day and was told yes. That was June 3rd and as of today (June 23rd) I am STILL waiting for that return call. We, of course, had the repair done by another company (U.S. Appliance Tech) who did the repair timely and for over $300 less! If you are thinking of using Snell for your A/C needs, I suggest you run (don?t walk) to another contractor (maybe US Appliance Tech!).

Arrived on time. Diagnosed the problem Called with cost. Had the part on his truck installed the part in no time. I was very pleased with the work recieved. I had my daughter home at the time. And she had no problem withering care of the repairs. They even took my credit card over the phone. Would use them again. I purchased a saving deal on the Angie website which I think helped with the overall cost

It was fine, everything went well. They did the inspection and we actually ended up signing up contracts for them so that they would do the maintenance on the AC. They come every six months. We pay them yearly, contract cost I believe is around $150 and that's to do both spring and fall inspection so we're not paying each visit, were paying annually premium. They seem pretty reliable, they show on time so I don't have any negative comments really. I think they're good company to work with so we're happy so far.

My experience overall went very well. I would recommend Snell to others in the future.

I could not be more pleasured with the service I received. Everyone part of the process was fast and professional. After purchasing the Deal, the appointment was made. The appointment process was quick and easy. the Service Tech arrived on time, was professional and did an excellent job. Made a couple of suggestions but did not hard sell anything. I would highly recommend Snell to all of my friends.

Service was preformed wonderfully. Due to items found during the check, they will replace the entire system in the next few weeks.

The installation went OK. They did a good job and kept the place clean. I asked the sales person to have the installation team inspect my return air duct. The installation team wasn't aware of the request and not prepared to do the inspection, so I let it slide. The blue touch screen thermostat they installed is hard to read; the way they installed the air filter access makes it hard to replace. The main reason I'm writing this review is to warn against taking Snell up on their offer to pay them over time "interest free". Turned out to be a "Home Projects Visa" card from Wells Fargo. I wasn't warned by Snell that the "interest free" part only applied to the first year and I got hit with over $1000 in interest. My fault for not reading the credit card statements carefully, a very expensive mistake. My call to the credit card company was fruitless. All I can say is Snell should have warned me - and don't take them up on their offer to finance their work "interest free".

The first hot day this year I turned on the air conditioner and all it did was recirculate the air. The refrigerant had leaked out. The unit was 28 years old; time to replace it. I got a couple of bids. Snell was not the lowest, but I liked them the best (Angie rates them higher than any of the others, too), and they agreed to match the lowest price (oddly everyone recommended exactly the same equipment). Anyway, in the meantime they added enough refrigerant to my existing system so that I could get through the week; I was very grateful for that. Altogether, I am very happy with the result.

They were fine, but I do not think I would use them again. The people that I used to use before them, it is like I had a contract with them, and they would come and spend fifteen minutes during the maintenance, but it did not feel like their service was good. Snell spent a lot of time, but it is like in the back of my mind, I feel like they do not know what they were doing. I also used another service provider too and some of the things that they say is like they were suppose to be the expert, I was thinking at the back of my mind. Although, they had offered me a deal on getting my furnace serviced, I passed it up. They were better than my service provider. I do not know what it is about the quality of services these days even with your doctor. This was the first time I used them. I did not set up maintenance contract with them, and I did not use them again. He spent a lot of time and that was a lot better than the other company that I used. The coupon was great, but I would not use them for maintenance. They were able to set something up right away, and he just spent a lot of time going over the machine. He seemed to know a lot more than what I got from the other service providers. They were on time.

I was looking to retain an HVAC company to do semi-annual inspections of my heating and AC. When I called Snell [based upon the good reviews], I was quoted an extremely fair price for the contract and scheduled the AC service. On the day of the appointment, the office called to make sure I was home and dispatched the technician precisely according to schedule. Greg, the technician, arrived shortly thereafter. He was courteous, professional, put covers on his shoes [even though I told him it wasn't necessary]. I had purchased a new filter and he changed the filter and even took the old dirty one with him. He did a wonderful job, was a pleasant as could be, and I swear my unit is operating more quiety than it did before! I am delighted with Snell and will renew my contract yearly!

It was very effective. It was wonderful. They came out last fall. It was shortly after I purchased it. I was not charged anything extra. The person who came to the house was knowledgeable and friendly, but business like. It was a good combination. He did not try to get me to do more than what I needed. They were quick and efficient and reasonably priced.

The air conditioner has been working without problem ever since the service visit. We were so impressed with the work that we signed a service contract with the company.

Technician arrived on time, performed the work ordered, and provided a realistic assessment of the remaining life of our very old furnace. He left information on the bi-annual inspection plan that Snell offers without any pressure to buy.

It went very well. The rep was very professional, respectful and informative.

Purchased Angie's List Big Deal. Called to schedule an appointment. The customer service rep (CSR) said someone would call me back. Four days later no call back so I called to follow up. Spoke with a different CSR and had no problem setting up an appointment. A few days before the appointment the CSR called to both confirm the appointment and ask if I could reschedule for latter in the day because of their scheduling mix up. This was no problem and we adjusted the time. She advised that they would call when they were on their way on the day of service. The technicians arrived as agreed. They were pleasant and professional, although I was somewhat concerned about their experience level initially because of the confusion on whether or not they could install the humidifier on a system that used PVC piping. Once that technicality was cleared up, they installed the system without any problems. They were very patient and thorough when giving instructions for maintaining the system.

The first time I called I had to leave a message for someone to call me back to schedule an appointment for a full a/c system replacement estimate. It took almost a week for someone to call me back. When she did call back there weren't any available appointments for almost another full week. I schedule the appointment and then unfortunately had a change in my work schedule so I called on Friday of last week to reschedule the appointment for this Tuesday. The person who handles that was not in the office so they canceled my appointment and said someone would call me back to reschedule. They never did so I called again today to set up an appointment. The scheduling person was out sick today so the gentleman who answered the phone said a supervisor would call me back to schedule it within 30 minutes. That was over an hour ago. Not going to bother with them anymore. I'll just schedule my estimate with another company.

My AC was not blowing cool air. The technician pointed out a few problems with an aged interior unit but quickly found the real problem on the outside unit, which was a blown fuse. He was on time and very professional, (I think his name was James?). Anyways, it was raining out and still fixed the unit with no complaints. Excellent service, I would definitely recommend them.
