Safe Start Baby

Safe Start Baby was responsive and professional. My spouse thought the price was a little high for 45 minutes work, but overall, we'd recommend them. It was worth the price to have it done right, and done solidly.

We needed help finding a gate for our basement steps, but ended up finding and installing something ourselves. If we need more help in the future we will look for a different company.

Within a couple of days after installation, I received the bill. I noticed several errors, and the company responded well and the final bill was approved for charging to the credit card they had on file. The items that were forgotten by the installer were paid for with the agreement that they would be shipped. Two months later I still had not received the items and e-mailed the service. I received no written reply, but a couple of days later, the items arrived in the mail. Unfortunately, at least one item was an inferior model than one for which we had paid (it was a different manufacturer, and the product on Amazon sells for 1/2 as much as the one we should have received). While I think the people who work here are very nice, I don't think they are very organized. I recommend them with the following caveats: 1) don't pay by credit card with the initial evaluation if you don't like the idea of them having it on file for automatic charging, 2) the day before installation make sure the installers have a list of all products needed and that they are brought with them, 3) expect that it won't be perfect (I think the installers did a much better job than my husband and I could've done, so I'm okay with the extraneous holes), and 4) make sure you review the bill thoroughly. Overall, I'm okay with the service, but wish they were a little more organized.

They were good and we were pleased. The experience went well and they were thorough.

I didn't want to have to figure out which gates to use at the top of two staircases so I hired this company to do it for me. I didn't want to spend time having someone come out and give me a quote and then have to come back again to go through the installation. I also didn't want a complete babyproofing assessment - I just wanted the gates to be installed with as little hassle as possible. This company did exactly what I wanted for a very reasonable price. I sent them photos and measurements and they gave me a quote and had someone come out and do the installation--they had everything they needed in the truck so there was no back-and-forth about extensions or adaptors. It was so easy and now I know that my baby gates are secure and I have peace of mind. The installer, Tony, was so helpful in getting all the details right - which way the gates should swing, exactly how they should be positioned, etc. I had originally asked for four gates, but when I saw how they would work, I asked for only two. (I can use cheap pressure-mount gates for the other two locations--but having them come out helped me to decide this.) Because the process moved so fast, I didn't tell them I only wanted the two gates until the installer arrived. They gave me no grief about it and happily did just the work I requested. $500 might sound like a lot, but if you add up everything you would spend on gates to do it yourself, the material cost is about the same, and they only charged me $150 for labor, which is reasonable for the 2 hours or so they were at my house. I think I got a great value for my money. There were a few problems I had with this company. In the beginning, they didn't return my phone calls promptly (it usually took about 24 hours). They said that they were having some problems with their phone and internet (construction work that they had no control over), and there was even an outgoing message on their phone line saying so, so I think it really was an unusual situation. Everything else was so professional that I would not hold it against them, but that is the reason for my and quot;band quot; rating on and quot;responsiveness.and quot; I also had some issues with billing after the fact, but they were much more responsive about that and resolved it to my satisfaction. I also had a gate come out of its screws just a few days after installation, which I fixed myself. I can't say for sure what happened there--I do have a 5 year old and maybe she was just too h****** the gate, but I still feel like they must have done something wrong on the installation, which is scary. They offered to send someone out the same day I called, but I couldn't stand having another workman in my house so I did it myself. I give them a b on quality for this.

They are very communicative and they seemed good. I felt they did a reasonably good job. The person who came, was very nice and good. The price seemed a little on the higher side.
