Steven A. Burkhart is the owner. I don't use them very often. Their quality is very good. The last time they were here bright and early. They really know what they are doing.

The company was hired to prevent and correct soil erosion on a hillside. They brought in at least 5 dump trucks of good soil. They grated the soil and planted grass. Another project was to plant a variety of grasses, shrubs and flowers on another hillside to prevent erosion. They also installed beautiful stone steps down the hill. We are very happy with their work. I would not hesitate to hire them on future projects.

How sad that a company can't respond to a request for a quote in almost three weeks.

Not well. Called and spoke with the friendly answering service/dispatcher twice - no call or visit from 'Steve'. Called April 21 requesting assistance in clearing a 30+-foot tree damaged (i.e. knocked over) by the wind. Was told that 'Steve' would be by to provide an estimate and either leave on the front door, or mailbox, by Tuesday (April 22). Called back on April 24 asking when I could expect a call or visit from 'Steve', and the answering service/dispatcher was 'surprised' that I hadn't been contacted. She was then going to page 'Steve' again (who was on the crane) and he would get back to me. On April 28, a full week after my initial contact, and still without a return call from either 'Steve' or the dispatcher, I decided to find another firm to assist. If you want prompt service, or the common courtesy of a returned phone call to schedule an appointment, this isn't the place.

We had two 120+ foot trees that feel over onto our driveway during Sandy, snapping power lines, crushing a fence, and uprooting the retaining wall around the driveway. Steve (owner) came out Monday night (during the storm) and said he'd be back the next day by noon. He and the crew showed up on time, and starting clearing the driveway. He talked to the out-of-state utility workers waiting down the street and convinced them to come lay new power lines once he cleared the way, which they did -- 24 hours ahead of our original scheduled time. He came back over the course of the next few days to finish clearing the logs, trimming back a tree that got scraped by the falling trees (so it wouldn't die), grinding the 2 tree stumps (plus another that was left over from a previous tree removal), rebuilt the driveway (and laid more gravel), repaired the deer-netting fence and laid new grass seed and covered in straw. SAB had previously removed 7 trees on our property about 18 months ago, so they were the first I called when the storm knocked down the trees. He didn't disappoint again, and was a lifesaver because he got us powered up a full day early. I would ABSOLUTELY use SAB again in the future.

Fine -- no complaints and no surprises.

It went well, yard left neat. Air conditioners should have been covered prior to tree work being done. House screens should have been removed prior to work being done.

The property looks wonderful and SAB does excellent work. Steve is and quot;one of the good guysand quot;. If I had to say something negative, it was difficult to get the estimate and the work scheduled but I believe this was due to the crazy weather lately. I have used SAB in the past and I will continue to use them in the future.

We called SAB in because another tree service had done a poor job of attempting to cut down the trees (leaving major dead limbs and cutting logs while they rested on our roof). Steve was recommended by another landscaper due to the large size of the trees and his expertise. He cut down all 7+ trees without dropping anything on our roof, hauled away all the wood and even re-seeded our lawn (which didn't have much grass because of all the trees) because the equipment had chewed it up (which I had said was OK to begin with). I was VERY pleased with the speed and quality of the work, and for the price (the other service charged >$2500 to cut down the total of ~1 tree), was well worth it.

The estimate was quick and easy. Steve was very knowledgable. The job went exactly as expected and his estimate was right on the money.

This is at least the third time that I have used this company and each time the experience gets a little worse. They do excellent work and clean up extremely well for a resonable price, but dealing with them is a study in frustration because of lack of communication. I originally asked for an estimate of the cost for the work to be done in approximately mid June. I called back about two weeks later when I had heard nothing from them. I was told Steve would get in touch with me. Several days later I finally received a call from Steve. He gave me a price that was higher than I remembered from before. I commented on that and he said he would check their records and get back to me. He never called me back. He gave me a date of 7/7 in the morning for the work to be done. By late afternoon no one had come. I called and I was told I was not on the schedule, but they would have Steve call me. The office then called back and said that someone would be there very late in the afternoon which I said would not work. The work was then rescheduled for 7/8 in the early afternoon, They were about an hour later then than the time given. My problems with this company are purely in the realm of communicaion or lack there of. If they can't come or are running late, they don'tcall; and the office staff are clearly not told much of anything since their reply to any scheduling question is that they need to call Steve and find out the answer. I have recommended this company in the past to neighbors who needed to have tree work done, but I now say they do good work but you have to have a high tolerance for lack of communication and persistence in calling back yourself to get the information you need. I have checked the box that I would use this company again, but I am ambivalent.

They did this once in the spring and once in the fall. I would use them in future.

After getting several estimates, SAB was the most competitively priced tree removal service. The crew was on time and the work went smoothly. They were willing to work with us on keeping the price down.
