In converting from oil to natural gas -- finding a quality company that worked with the gas company was helpful. Dobson was very helpful and provided several helpful insights. As I have purchased several complete HVAC systems in the past, I was pleased with the professionalism and quality of the products provided by Dobson. The company is very professional, responsive, appears provides a quality product. Absolutely consider using Dobson for your installation. I would definately use again. The pro's very much outweigh the cons. The only negatives would be their high price and the use of CSST (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrugated_stainless_steel_tubing). If you are converting to gas, you may want to consider the advantages and disadvantages to CSST... Especially when installed outside your home.

I was very pleased with R A Dobson's work. I use this company for my HVAC and water heater servicing and would highly recommend them.

Our heat pump stopped working during the heat of July. I called another company and the technician spent a couple of hours to provide me a "guestimate". He was not sure exactly what the problem was but told me I would need to have the first repair done (over $2000) in order to continue troubleshooting since he was not 100% sure what the problem was. I then called RA Dobson for a second opinion. The technician (Oscar) was awesome. Oscar was able to diagnose the exact problem and explain/demonstrate the issue to me on the first visit. At that point I had enough information to determine replacing a stuck reversing valve was not cost-effective and decided to replace the outdoor unit. RA Dobson had a crew out the next day to install the replacement and everything is working fine.

Team was on time. Prompt, courteous and efficient. They completed the service - and unlike other HVAC companies found nothing wrong or needing repair so there was no upsell pressure to deal with. They have served our needs for the past 3 years and we have almost found them honest, highly professional, courteous, and efficient.

Excellent customer Service. DO call them, and Do use their service. Don't waste another minute!

We had water enter our basement during hurricane Sandy because our 3 A/C units were sunken into ground and mulch was built up but pulled back around them causing water to pool around all 3 units on that side of house. After speaking to 3 landscapers all diagnosing this as the main problem and telling me the A/C units needed to be lifted (and side garden regraded) I contacted R A Dobson based on recommendation from one of the well known Landscape companies in town. Travis came out within 24 hours and gave me a great solution that was less than 1/3 the cost of what other HVAC companies were quoting. Once I gave him the green light they scheduled the work the next morning and they did a great job in a short period of time. Needless to say we are thinking of using them for our annual maintenance.

It was an excellent experience. I believe that I received excellent advice about the problems with my old system, and about the options for a new system. Dobson offered a better price and a longer warranty on their labor than the company that I had had a service contract with for over 5 years. The technicians who removed the old system and installed the new one were very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. I am very pleased with the advice that I received, the system that I purchased, and the work that was performed installing it. I have changed my service contract to be with R.A. Dobson giong forward.

The job went well and the technican was very methodical and completed the job. He did a good job of explaining when asked and focused on the task at hand. I would rate the technican highlyon all fronts. I felt RA Dobson was quite expensive.

They are fantastic. They installed our unit when it needed to be replaced. They relocated where the furnace from the old position. They re-ran all the pipes. It was a great job.

We have been using RA Dobson since a cold February in 2008, when we had a two-month old baby and no heat in our townhouse. We called RA Dobson on a Saturday morning, out of despiration. They were there within the hour. They worked fast to restore our heat. Ever since this experience, we have stuck with them. We recently moved into a new house where we needed a new heat pump. Travis worked with us and our home warranty company to get us the best possible deal.

prTwo technicians on separate visits disagreed on a diagnosis. Ben said the downstairs unit was leaking and recommended another test, which we did. That led to adding coolant, a minor repair, and a $600 charge. He recommended waiting to fix the leak since it might only be a pinhole leak. Oscar came out 5 months later and said there was nothing wrong with the downstairs unit. NO LEAK! But the upstairs unit is leaking and should be replaced for $8700. Ben has left the firm, so there is no way to settle this. At a minimum, it seems an error cost me $600. The $900 above include the annual service charge.

They answered the questions that I had clearly. They are good. They did the job in a short period of time. I would use their service in the future too.

I have a contract with them at $200 a year for two maintenance visits on two zones. I like the people who work for them and I have never had any problem with the work that they have done. They are pretty consistent, and people work for the company for a long time, so I recognize them when they come. They have come right away on the few occasions when I have had some minor emergencies, even on a weekend.

Technicians came to the house as scheduled on the appointed date and finished on time the next afternoon. Justin and crew were easy to deal with and we're very happy with the new heat pump.

Not a hitch from start to finish. Very professional staff. Everything was completed on schedule, and at the quoted cost. The work areas were left spotless, and the operation of the new system (especially the digital thermostat unit) was explained in great detail.

I got the name of this company as a referral from a friend. They are outstanding. Justin Dobson dealt with my insurance company through numerous phone calls and made excellent, cost effective, honest recommendations. His persistance and dedication to getting this done right amazed me. When all was said and done, his workers installed the heat pump, inside and outside, in less than a day, and cleaned up after themselves perfectly. When I arrived home that night, the windows were closed, the curtains pulled closed and the air conditioning was WORKING. I recommend the company highly.

We found all of their technicians to be excellent. They have a maintenance contract which depends on the heating and air-conditioning system. Their service is excellent. We just make an appointment, they give a time frame and they come within that time.
