Description of Work: I can NOT recommnend Max and Pro Floors more. They did a fabulous job with resurfacing our floors. They added a new section to the house and made it look seamless. The finish on the floors is BETTER than the floors when they were installed new. His staff is prompt and professional. We saw them down on their hands and knees sanding the corners and edges... We were very impressed. They also replaced the carpet throughout the house which turned out wonderful as well.

Description of Work: Having just purchased a home from a divorced couple (with cats) that never got it ready for sale or updated, we needed new flooring on the entire two levels of a 3 story center hall colonial. The only nice floors were hardwoods in the foyer and kitchen. We decided to try to match the hardwoods in the living room and dining room on both sides of the kitchen. We wanted the living room changed because it leads to the deck and gets a lot of foot traffic we feared would stain carpets too easily over time and we like the look of hardwoods and have lots of dark wood furniture that goes well with the wood floors. In fact, this is where it's great to have a guy like Max. He made a great recommendation to have the landing area coming in from the sliding glass door to the deck tiled. He said it would hold up better over time and the temperature fluctuations near the door could damage the hardwood floor. So his tile guy did a really nice landing area with some porcelain tile we picked out and ran hardwood trim around in that transistioned beautifully to the hardwood. The only challenge was that room was on a concrete slab, so Max did a great job of finding an engineered hardwood to match the kitchen. We changed the dining room to the same matching hardwood (solid) to give it a more formal look. For the remainder of the upper two levels we went with a frise (sp?) carpet. It was light and had some dark flects (sp?) throughout. I feared it may be too light, but with the flects throughout it made it just right. Max recommended this particular carpet for us because it wasn't the most expensive (how many contractors will tell you that?) and because it will hold up excellent over time. We have three young kids and an active dog and that was important to us. I can't tell you the difference the carpet has made. The house looks completely different. We absolutely love it.

Description of Work: Max Beck came to our house to give us an estimate for new carpet and padding in our basement. Max was very thoughful and patient and answered all of our questions. He showed us in the basement laundry room possible sources for water damage, such as the water heater, the washer and the a/c unit, and made recommendations on how to maintain them so they wouldn't damage our new carpets...that's all before he even took measurements. He then carefully measured the dimensions of our basement, and brought us some samples of the shag style carpets we were interested in. Although my husband and I thought we wanted to go with a higher end brand, Max actually talked us out of it, suggesting a lower priced one because it was the basement, and to hold off on something nicer for when we want to replace the carpet in our bedrooms. Just that says something about Max too. He is obviously invested in client relationships and delivering a good product and helping the customer maintain it.

Description of Work: Actually was two jobs refinishing done in January ($3,600) and Installation in February ($4,000) The refinishing was of a mix of white and red oak floors installed in 1973 and never refinished. The installation was two rooms with white oak pre-finished.

Description of Work: We recently bought a townhouse and the carpets and lanoleum flooring were quite old. Based on a recommendation from a friend, we hired Pro-Floor to install hardwood flooring on all three levels of our home, ceramic tile (in the bathrooms, foyer, utility closet, and kitchen), and carpet on the stairs. Max took the time and extra effort to work closely with us in choosing the materials and even accompanied us to the tile outlet store to pick out the ceramic tile. During the installation, the crews worked very efficiently; they were obviously skilled and experienced professionals. While one crew was installing the tile, the other crew worked to install the hardwoods in another part of the house. Max takes great pride in his work and he personally oversaw the work of his crew. In just three days, our home had new flooring throughout the entire house!

Description of Work: I have used Max Beck with Pro Floor many, many times. I have referred him to friends and family over and over again - and in turn they have referred him out as well. He is excellent - from his responsiveness to knowledge of product - it is a delight to work with him.

Description of Work: I was replacing a ceramic tile floor in the kitchen/family room and changing out the hallway and bathroom hardwood flooring so everything would match. The two workers had a large "de-construction" project to deal with first, including removal of hardboard that had hundreds of screws. They worked from 8 am and finished at midnight. Max, the owner, also pitched in from 7 pm until the end. The effort included flooring (about 600 sq ft) and the molding work.
