Description of Work: I used Potomac Services for duct cleaning when we purchased our home. I had them come in before we moved in and after having our wood floors refinished. They were punctual and explained everything they were doing. The technician was very friendly and walked me through the entire process. They were higher priced than some of the coupons and flyers you get in the mail, but there were no hidden or additional charges. This price also included my dryer vent. I was happy with the service and would use them again.

They showed up at the promised time. I took them around the house so they could remove all the vents and air return panels. Then they brought in all their equipment and began working. It took between 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Very professional. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: We called Potomac Services prior to getting our furnace replaced. They cleaned all duct work including the dryer vent (if you mention the coupon on Angie's List).

Sales pitch was good but they were not able to deliver anything on time. I guess time is the essence of any service and product and they failed miserably to identify their inability to perform the job on a given date.
Description of Work: We talked to Mr. Porter about Air Duct cleaning based upon positive responses at Angies List. We did not shop around, they gave us an appointment for Sunday at 12 noon. We received two consecutive calls one hour before schedule that they wont be able to do the Air Duct Cleaning so we have to reschedule the appointment. We were quite shocked due to the fact that we have been waiting for whole week to be able to use our dryer after dryer vent cleaning. We set our weekend based upon their schedule and it is very unprofessional to receive a call one hour earlier before the Job.

WE ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE CUSTOMER FOUR DAYS PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED SERVICE DATE. WE LEFT VOICE MAILS AND SENT MULTIPLE EMAILS. UNFORTUNATELY WE WERE NOT ABLE TO MAKE CONTACT TO RESCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT. I PERSONALLY, WENT TO THE CUSTOMERS HOUSE THE FOLLOWING DAY AND COMPLETED THE WORK AT A DAY/TIME THAT WAS CONVENIENT FOR HIM. HE SUBSEQUENTLY REVISED HIS ANGIE'S LIST RATING AND RETRACTED HIS COMMENTS. WE WORK VERY HARD TO MAKE EACH AND EVERY CUSTOMER HAPPY. AN UNFORTUNATE TURN OF EVENTS IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE.

My chimney was cleaned by Potomac services and they did a great job. They were on time, clean and very organized. They spent a good amount of time making sure that all of the soot was removed and that my chimney would be ready for the upcoming winter. They cleaned up after themselves so well that I could not tell that they had even stopped by. I am actually going to use them to clean my AC ducts next.

We called on Friday afternoon, they had Monday at 8 AM opened. The tech arrived on time, he was concerned that the noise of the equipment might scare our rabbit who was in a pen in the back of the town house. We moved bunny into an indoor cage. Over the next 4 hours he was all through the house, but was not intrusive. He finished up timely stopping only to show me the inside of the main intake vent before he started so I could compare it to the finished vent. He cleaned up everything and finished the the 4 hour time slot as promised on Friday.
Description of Work: The air ducting in our 40 year old house had never been cleaned. Also the rather long dryer vent had not been professionally cleaned.

Jeff was very responsive on the phone and called when he said he would. He arrived on time and was very friendly. He got right to work and was done within about half an hour. Because there was so much lint in the vents, he wanted to check the output from the dryer to make sure there wasn't more lint trapped there. He listened to our concerns about pulling out the dryer and wrapped up in a few minutes.

Jeff Peterson, the owner, personally performed the service. While other companies I surveyed indicated that they would do the job in 2 hours, Jeff took 4.5 hours to do an incredibly meticulous and careful cleaning of the intake and output air ducts and furnace. He took special care to avoid getting dirt from the ducts into the house since I told him that I was highly asthmatic. This company is a member of the National Air Duct Cleaning Association and adheres to its standards. The price was about average quoated to me by several firms. I would gladly recommend Potomac Services to anyone needing aid duct cleaning. They did a superb job.
