 + -1 moreWhen cleaning a bedroom that is not often used, I noticed an orange sized wasps nest between the bedroom window and the outer screen. Because there was wasp activity we decided not to deal with it on our own and turned to Angie's list for recommendations. We decided on Superior and called for a quote. The agent was extremely helpful and friendly and could accomodate my request for someone to come out the next day since we were going out of town. The agent that came was very thorough and answered all my questions. He sprayed and then removed the nest and we've had no regrowth since. As a plus he was courteous enough to put paper covers on his shoes to keep my floors clean. I was impressed from start to finish and will use them again.

However,I has been almost three weeks after the first treatment and they had treated my house for three times, we still have a huge population of roaches in the house. The result of the pest control is unacceptable.
Description of Work: The exterminator is very nice and arrive on time. However, after three treatments of roaches, there are still roaches everywhere in the kitchen and bedrooms. I admit that the condition of the house is bad, but still the result of the extermination is unacceptable.

 + -1 moreI'm very impressed. Scheduling the estimate was effortless, the estimator showed up on time, evaluated the situation and said he'd call later in the day to schedule a technician. The estimator called back within 30 minutes and said a technician would be over by 3:00pm. Phone range at 2:54pm when the tech was at my front door. I was very pleased that the whole thing got taken care of in one day - and especially because they work Saturdays, and I didn't have to take time off work.The tech was great - explained the dept of the problem to me AND explained how I could take care of it myself if any other pests decided to invade my house! He also suggested a number of precautionary steps that we could take to prevent new pests from entering the house. A+++ for these guys.
Description of Work: The rental unit in our home became infested with bumble bees. The technician sprayed a powder insecticide into all the openings both outside and inside the house.

 + -1 moreWe called to obtain an estimate for pest control service in our home. Josh punctually arrived on the following day to provide the estimate. He clearly explained the work they did and provided us with a quote. He also indicated they would return as necessary in the event we noticed any more bugs. They offer a quarterly program to treat the areas regularly. They also offer a yard guard to take care of insects in the yard.We decided to contract them. Christopher arrived as scheduled on the following day and treated the entire house, inside and outside. He also treated a bee hive in the back yard, and returned the following day to remove the hive. We were very pleased with the service this company offers and recommend them without hesitation. .
Description of Work: Pest control inside the house, including basement, first and second floor. Yard guard around the perimeter of the whole house. Removal of a bee hive in the back yard.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. I highly recommend Superior Pest. They are very pleasant to deal with and knowledgable. They offer a flexible schedule for services and very reasonable prices.
Description of Work: A very nice guy from Superior Pest arrived ontime and a did a complete walk-through of my house and yard to help identify where our ant problems are coming from and to recommend the correct type of service. After we discussed the services he treated the trouble spots inside, sprayed outside, and found a way to spray inside our crawl space. He said the best way to treat our ant problem was to place bait inside that will kill all the existing ants in about a week and to continue treatments outside once a quarter going forward. The initial treatment was $159 with tax and the quarterly treatments going forward will be approximately $85. I think these prices are very reasonable, given the quality of service. He also said that if I see any ants etc. inside after about a week, they will come by for free and re-treat the inside.

 + -1 morePlease do not use this company, if you just want to check to see if your house is free of termites. At least, one person I dealt with was extremely dishonest. We paid $900 for the service that we didn't need. I talked to my co-worker about my experience and he told me that he did exactly same thing as I did and the inseptor came out and said that he didn't need it. At least , there are some honest people out there but not this.
Description of Work: I called the company based on the Angies reviews. I didn't see any termites in my house but I called them to do a regualar check up. On a scheduled day, a guy came and inspected the house for five minutes and took my husband down the basement to let him see the termite damage, which he told him that he couldn't tell him whether it's old or new. It was easy for him to spot it because months ago, we got some gas pipe work done and the crew had to cut a little section from the ceiling. That's the spot he pointed and told my husband that we need a treatment. He gave us two options -spraying around the house and planting termite feeders around the house. He mentioned that families with little kids tend to choose the feeding system because it's safer but it's more costly. Also, he gave me a quote over $1k. Our house is brick all around and 1300 sf. After minutes of negotiation, I agreed him to charge me $900. When he saw me not decisive in hiring them to do the work, he told me that the deal is only available on that day and I needed to make a decision on that day. Also, said that they are extremely busy, etc. I feel pressured and finally decided to hire them. On the scheduled day, one guy came over and planted the feeders around the house within 10 minutes and demanded $900. I was literally schocked to find out how little work was involved but how much I had to pay for the service. The service guy explained that I pay for the one year service,which they come out and inspect the feeders quarterly. Afterwards, I did lots of research and found out that our house was a very low risk to termite damage and based on the fact that we don't see any termites and any extra damages and no other termite related signs, we did not have any termite problems. Of course, when they came out to check the feeders, they didn't see any signs of termites. I am totally fooled by this company and paid for nothing.

 + -1 moreI called Superior Pest Management (Pest Now) on a Tuesday and was able to schedule an appointment on Thursday. They seem to use a call center, which I think is always useful when hiring service professionals. The technician came out and was very professional and nice! I signed up for the quarterly service and the treatment was thorough - inside and out. After a week, I haven't seen any bugs and we used to see a millipede, spider, or fly at least once a day. I inquired about the lawn treatment for mosquitoes and the price he quoted me was so great, I requested the service, That evening, a different technician came out and treated the lawn. He was also very professional. I think I saw a mosquito yesterday, so I will give them a call and ask them to come back out. That is their policy - if you see anything, call them again and they'll come out for free. I appreciate that. Just verify your time when you schedule a treatment; they may use a window system. I scheduled for 10 am, which met that the tech would arrive between 10 and 12, not 10 on the dot. I wasn't aware of that and when the tech hadn't arrived by 10:30, I gave them a call and found out about the window.

 + -1 moreOur daughter met the technician at the house, since we were still away, and he sprayed both inside and outside the property. He also left bait that attracts the mice and eventually kills them through dehydration. Our daughter reported that the technician was thorough and professional, answering all of her questions and explaining the methods used. We scheduled a follow up visit for 2 weeks later, and the technician (a different one) was also very thorough and professional, replacing the bait in the bait stations both inside and outside the house. He also inspected the outside of the house for possible entry points, suggesting we shore up the area around the front porch of our house and that we caulk around a pipe in the exterior basement wall. We arrived home the day after the initial service call and have not heard or seen any mice. We have also signed on to a quarterly check up/treatment plan to ensure the problem is solved. Overall, Pest Now did an excellent job. Their technicians were knowledgeable, courteous, and professional.
Description of Work: While we were away on vacation, our son contacted us to tell us that he had seen mice in the house. We contacted several companies, but Superior Pest Management, now known as Pest Now, was able to come out the following day and treat the problem immediately. The technician sprayed inside and outside the house and also left bait stations in the basement and outside the house.

 + -1 moreThe actual appointment was fine. The reason for their poor score is due to their unethical business practices. I was asked if I wanted to sign up for their quarterly service both when I made the appointment and during my appointment. Both times I declined. This week I received mail from them which I assumed was marketing material (aka junk mail) and almost ended up in the trash before I read it. For some reason I ended up opening and and I learned that they were coming to my home to spray the the exterior for my quarterly service. The same service that I declined more than once. I'm sure their business strategy is to just send a letter regardless of what teh customer said said, expecting that the customers won't pay attention. Then they spray the outside of your home and bill you before you even know what happened. It is a very unethical business practice and I will never use their service again. I am also reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

The response to the email was next day and I called to schedule an inspection (I already had discoverd I had termites external to the structure and wanted to determine if it had spread to the structure) The inspector arrived as scheduled on the inspection date - they accommodated me by doing a Saturday inspection (6/16) early in the day. He did a thorough exam and we scheduled treatment to provide a barrier around the house. The treatment team arrived today (6/19), as scheduled (again they gave me a narrow window [7-10] and did their work within it. They were also thorough and professional. I wish I had remembered to print the Angies coupon, but regardless, I was very satisfied and am glad I used Angie's List for the service.

 + -1 moreThis is for a rental property single family house. One of the tennant's relative's carried bed bugs in from their apartment building. By the time the tennant called the entire house was infested. Called Superior. Got a call back within a half hour from the owner. We set up an appointment for the next day. The tech came, and inspected the house and gave instructions on how to prep the house. This is an involved process. He left his cell number for follow up questions.. The first of three treatments was scheduled for two days out. The tennants reported that he was very professional. The service appears to have been effective. There are two more treatments to go, but the bugs seem to be dead. The price was reasonable for the number of rooms treated.

He explained how long the treatment would last, and how their guarantee works. He came inside and sprayed the areas I told him about as well as provided us with glue boards. He spoke to me about various other insects I complained about. He was experienced and professional during our conversation. I would definetly use them again.

 + -1 moreWe have been using them for 5 to 6 years. They usually just spray around the house. They usually don't come inside unless you ask them to. They are punctual, and do their job. I haven't compared them with anyone else. What they do when they come in terms of service, is an A. We haven't had any pets in the house, so I guess they do a good job. Sometimes I'm not here when they come.

We had a service contract with them when it was recurring, they came out every few weeks for about a year when we first came. We own the property for 12 years now and we had issues with ants when we first arrived, they came in to help and they went away.
