 + -1 moreIt went ok. Like I said, he laid the traps. However, I thought he would seal the parts of the house where the rodents entry and exit. He said he could not do that. I mean, he probably killed some of the population, but what's to prevent them from coming back? Luckily, my neighbor is a handy-man and he laid concrete and gravel around the foundation of my house for a much cheaper price. He also set bait and traps. They company did part of what they said they would, but it also said they would seal the entry/exit points. That's why I paid the big bucks, but the serviceman said he couldn't do that.
Description of Work: The company came out and performed bug control, and set up some rodent traps for the mice problem I have in the back of my house.

 + -1 moreArrived early and went right to work. Finished before the start time. Never even saw them. Relator received the report from them with the certificate before the home inspection was completed. My only problem with them is I would have liked to speak with them. The report was clean, but nevertheless, I'd like to talk with the people to make sure they looked everywhere. Their price was considerably cheaper than other highly recommended pest company on Angie's List: $35 vs. $120 for what seemed to be same service!

Prices were competitive. They have a 90-day warrantee and will return if the bugs reemerge. I did not purchase the quarterly service as I hope the one-time service will take care of the problem.

 + -1 moreCareful Realtors - they will hold your seller hostage. Seller's agent was present at inspection and told that there was a prior infestation that was treated. When the report came through, it indicated an active infestation that could be treated for $550.00. When I called the inspector, he lied about the conversation that took place at the property and insisted that there was an active infestation and was quite rude on the phone. He showed up 45 minutes late, lied, and wanted to overcharge for an unneeded treatment. Two other inspectors found no evidence of termites. Avoid at all costs.

 + -1 moreThey came out for a second time to honor the 90 day warranty to remove wasp nests that had appeared again nearly 3 months after the first treatment. The service person was cheerful, efficient and quick. Just be sure to be very detailed with the office people who set up appointments if you need taller second story house pest services so they can bill appropriately and assign 2 people to do the job correctly the first time. This company does a good job. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Had wasp nests treated and removed from the roof of my house and later returned to remove nests that were built in corners of other windows not yet treated.

I searched for pest and animal removal services serving PG County and started calling. Pest Now was the first. It was a brief phone call where I explained our dilemma and then asked whether it was something with which they could assist. The person answering the phone was courteous. Their services couldn't meet my need (which, admittedly isn't a run of the mill situation) so I thanked them and went on to the next company.
Description of Work: I called PestNow but was told that their services didn't cover my need - removing bird(s) nest(s) from under house siding.

Description of Work: They treated our house for mice. We called them in January to get rid of some mice that we were seeing in our house. We didn't actually see them, however, we noticed mice droppings in our closets. We purchased a service plan from them. First the first visit, the charge was going to be $140 to treat the house for mice. And every quarter, they would retreat our house for $80. They also told us that the treatment would also be good for any bugs such as spiders, etc. That was fine, but my major concern was the mice. The guy came out to our house on time and was very professional. He treated our house by placing boxes throughout the house where we have seen mouse droppings. My husband told him that these small boxes looked like some we have seen in the grocery store. The guy told us that these could not be bought in any store, because these were higher quality or more potent than what you could find in any store. That sounded great to us. After about a month, I was sitting in our bed, and I actually saw a little mouse running behind my dresser. It was quite startling to me. We notice this every night for the next 3 nights. So I called Pest Now again to let them know that what they did was not working. I let them know that the problem was getting worse now since I was actually seeing the mice with my own eyes. The guy on the phone told me that they would come back out to our house and place mouse traps to catch the mice. They said mice are really difficult to get rid of, but I told them I needed it to work. The guy came back out to our property again. He was very professional again, and I cannot complain about how nice he was. He told me that the mouse traps he was placing around our house would help catch the mice. I said great! That is what we were paying them to do. Well, after a month using the mouse traps, we were still seeing mouse droppings around our house. By this time, I was just fed up. It was like we paid these guys $140 for nothing. My husband and I were in Lowes for something else, so we decided we would try to see if they had anything we could purchase that might work. This is when I got really angry. We found the exact same boxes and mouse traps at Lowes that we paid PestNow $140 for. At Lowes, I can say they were much, much cheaper than that. We could have done the same thing they did for about $20. We saw some different type of poison that we purchased instead to see if we could fix the problem. Although I know we have probably not gotten rid of the mice problem we had completely, what we bought at Lowes that day worked much better than anything PestNow did. At least I am seeing less mouse droppings now in my house. We have cancelled our service contract with PestNow and will be choosing a different pest control company. We do not feel good about the results we received with Pest Now.

 + -1 moreThey were very prompt and came out about 4 times in the last 6 weeks (3 different technicians). However, I was a little disappointed with the thoroughness of their assessment as to where the mice could be coming in --furthermore, the technician was reluctant to set-up traps for fear that he would have to come out daily to monitor them. I understand that this is a costly endeavor for them - but it was not clear to me from their website that they could select to not pursue an option for capturing the mice if it was not inconvenient for them. Despite that, they were professional in their behavior and were very prompt and responsive.

We also began to see small spiders at all of the corners where the celings met the walls, so we called PestNow based on positive reviews on Angies list. I called and were immediately greeted by a friendly voice who then transferred me to speak with Jeff. Jeff was able to schedule me the very next day and explained the process to me. Unlike other companies, PestNow does not require a service contract. Although I may continue to have them come out on a quarterly basis, I did not want to be locked into a contract if I didn't feel the services were necessary. In addition to theirr no contract policy, they also stand behind their work and product. They have a 90 day guarantee that you will see no pests within those 90 days. If you do, they will come back free of charge. After a week, we still saw some spiders so we took advantage of this service. They sent Will back out to care of the problem. He used a stronger insecticide and it seems to have done the trick. Every aspect of the company seems to be professionally run and provide friendly, caring service. From those answering the phones, to those scheduling, to the technicians in the field, I was impressed. The technicians definitely treated my home as if it were their own. I would definitely recommend PestNow and they will be serving as my preventative pest control provider from this point forward.

 + -1 moreWe had heard a squirrel living in our attic and it had dug a hole through the bathroom ceiling. I called immediately Monday morning when I woke up and saw the hole. This occurred at 7:25am and they got an inspector to come out by 9am. I was extremely impressed with the responsiveness of the company. Then later on that day the technician came out to seal off the hole. It was a quick procedure and they were clean, efficient and friendly. They were willing to work with my schedule which I really appreciated. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: We had a squirrel living in our attic. They were extremely responsive that morning that I called to come out. They sealed off a hole in my attic in to prevent the squirrel from coming back in. They did not need to trap the squirrel because it ran out of the attic. They mentioned if they had to trap it, they would need to come out everyday until it was caught but this did not need to occur. Both the inspectors and the technician were very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend this company.

The have been on-time for each treatment, they are very informative about when they will be out to visit and all billing is done on-line.  + -1 moreI bought a coupon on Angie's List for $185 (originally $400) for 'rodent treatment' for squirrels. When I called to schedule an appointment, I was told 'squirrels are not rodents' and while I could use the coupon against the services, I would have to pay the full price $585 for Pest Now taking care of squirrels - their "standard package" for townhomes. So, when I thought I was doing the smart thing and saving $215 by buying the coupon from Angie's List, I ended up paying $400 more! I asked if I could then pay just the difference of $185, since my coupon should have taken care of $400, but I was told that I could not. So, while their staff arrived punctually to do an inspection and then screen the roof, I cannot help but feel cheated. I am not pleased that this loophole - Pest Now's rodent treatment is only for rats and mice - is not mentioned anywhere on the Angie's List page (even under fine print). I was told by Pest Now that it was a 'mistake'. A mistake for which I had to shell out a lot of money! I will not be using Pest Now again. I hope that the team at Angie's List (who I have written to, as well) will address this with Pest Now. My attempts to do so have resulted in nought.

HE LOOKED AT THE DAMAGED GARAGE GABLE, TOLD US WHAT THEY WOULD DO, TOLD US THE PRICE. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGH BUT THEY GUARANTEED EVERYTHING FOR 1 YEAR, SO MAYBE IT WASN'T BAD. THE NEXT DAY DARRYL CAME OUT. HE SCREENED OFF THE GABLE SO NO NEW SQURRLS COULD GET IN AND SET A TRAP TO CATCH THE ONE IN THERE. HE RETURNED THE NEXT DAY. THE SQUIRREL WAS STILL THERE. HE FELT THE SQUIRREL WAS PREGNANT SO HE CREATED A ONE WAY DOOR IN THE SCREENING SO THE SQUIRREL COULD GET OUT BUT NOT BACK IN. THE NEXT DAY HE CAME BACK. THE BEAST WAS STILL THERE. HE GOT A LONG POLE WITH A NOOSE ON IT AND CAPYURED THE BEAST. IT DIED WHILE HE CAUGHT IT. ALL PESTNOW EMPLOYEES WERE PROMPT. THEY ARRIVED ON TIME, DID WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD, EXPLAINED EVERYTHING IN DETAIL TO ME. I'D USE THESE GUYS ANYTIME AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THEM.

 + -1 morePestNow was excellent! Each one of the technicians really seemed to care about doing a good job and wanted to make sure that we were happy with the work. I was really impressed when they told me about some insulation issues in the crawl space under the kitchen and took care of them, too.
Description of Work: They helped us to get rid of some mice, and they closed up all of the points of entry that the mice had created which were quite extensive. They also treated for termites.

Description of Work: PestInc came out and did a exterior and limited interior house inspection. Based on the inspection, they provided an estimate for installing anti-termite protection. One to two weeks after we accepted the estimate, the installation was done. A few weeks later one of their servicemen came out, inspected the system and left an analysis (as promised).

 + -1 moreI contacted PestNow after becoming dissatisfied with my prior pest control company. The representative of PestNow that I spoke with explained the pricing structure of their preventative pest control over the phone so I knew upfront what the cost was for the service I was requesting, and she scheduled an appointment for me fairly quickly (and on a weekend too which worked best for my schedule). The representative arrived on time on the scheduled day (and called in advance to let me know he was on his way) and was extremely polite and helpful. He started by asking me if I had any concerns or specific areas I wanted him to look at. I explained to him what pest activity we had seen and he was able to offer me practical solutions (some I could easily do myself to prevent pests and some that he would do as part of the regular maintenance). For example, I had seen small flies in our basement by the drain in the basement floor. Our prior pest control company had said they didn't know what the flies were or how to prevent them. The PestNow representative, on the other hand, immediately identified what they were and told me practical ways to prevent them from reappearing. During the initial visit, the PestNow representative took the time to walk around all the areas where there could be pest issues to evaluate the areas, he applied the preventative treatment and made sure to explain what he had done. He also went through how future preventative treatments would work and what we should do in between treatments if we ever had questions or concerns. He was very knowledgeable, and left me very confident that I had selected a great company to work with. (PestNow is also less expensive than the service provider I was using previously.)

They were patient, answered all my questions, and explained exactly what they were going to do. There was no pushy sales talk but did suggest an $85.00 quarterly visit for at least one more visit. He explained that this was completely optional but common sense tells me to follow his advice.
