My Guys Moving & Storage

They told me that the team was trained movers who will handle the move and they would outsource the inter-state transport.They actually outsourced the entire move to Redball and it took twice as long as I was expecting it to. The two guys haven't ever worked together before, and the driver was having issues communicating with one of the guys. I've used My Guys twice before, and they did a great job, but this time around I wasn't very happy. I'd arranged to have wardrobe boxes, and they had to be delivered by another guy, and it just took way too long. When we finally got everything to the new place, it went alright, but loading proved to be a bit more complicated. I will be happy to use them again for local moves, but will think twice about using them for inter-state moving.

These guys were amazing. I managed to book them a couple of days before Xmas. They came on time. They were quick, efficient, and handled my stuff with care and respect. They were very nice, and really helpful. .They were super fast, and put my furniture exactly where I wanted it. I would highly recommend them, as I was delighted with their service.

This was a move from DC to Kansas. They bought my stuff from my house to the warehouse and then give it to the long distance guy. I had numbered over 200 boxes. So my instruction to them was to take the boxes with numbers on them. I walk around to them and told them what furniture to take. They kept complaining about the packing but a lot of the things they packed were not supposed to be packed. They took the toilet and put it on the truck and some food that was meant for donation they put on the truck. They pack all kinds of stuff that there not supposed to take. They were boxes here that they didn’t take. I designated somethings for them to pack but they didn’t pack them. They just tuck them in a corner. They had four guys who were Hispanic which one of them seems to speak and understand English. It seemed he didn’t communicate the instructions to the others clearly. I still have 15 boxed I have to ship to Kansas and stuff I have to shipped back here.

We hired them to pack up some of our bigger and more expensive stuff. They packed out items, moved them into storage for about 2 months then delivered to the new home. They packed three antique table leaves without any wrapping or protection. They were asked if they were going to wrap them as they were carried out of the house and said they would. However, they came off the truck unwrapped with some significant scratches. Then the company failed to accept responsibility for their mistake. We asked them to pay for the repair, multiple times, which was less than $300. They refused based upon two things. First, the packing form had the code for scratches on it and second the deductible was $500. The leaves were well maintained, my mother-in-law had the table refinished before she gave it to use and we kept a pad and table cloth on it. The leaves may have had some small scratches but the scratches from the move (into and our of storage) were much more pronounced. We asked the company to waive the deductible since they failed to provide any sort or protection to antique items. Lesson learned-tell the movers to show you all of the damage before they put any codes down on the sheet of paper and be prepared to take photos to protect yourself. If you are paying by the hour then negotiate to not pay for this time since it could take an extra hour or two to review what they mark. If nothing else insist they review your more expensive and important items.

It was fine. They were definitely not the cheapest. I expect a damage to happen when you're moving the whole house. At the end of the day, when I told them that a couple of things they had moved were damaged, they started to try to argue with me about whether the items had been that way before they ever showed up at our house. I was very disappointed because I thought it was very clear that they had moved them and that they had been damaged in the move. I just thought that it was crazy that they were arguing with me about it. Otherwise, I was happy with the team. Up until that moment, I thought, they took a completely different tone with me. I don't have that much experience dealing with movers. We fed them two meals during the day. We tipped the guys who moved us. We treated them well and they treated us well. We spent 12 hours together. We laughed, we cried. I just didn't expect, at the end, to have them be defensive and rude. It shouldn't color the whole experience.

They did okay. I did talk to the manager -- the one thing they really need to do is to teach their guys just basic English, like "trash, garbage, take this out back, pick this up, put this here," that kind of thing. It was very difficult and we had a lot to move. They were all very professional, friendly and they did whatever we asked them to do. It was just trying to get them to understand. The prep was really good, you know, the boxes and that. They were right on time.

It was fine. It wasn't good or bad. They got the job done. The crew that turned up didn't speak English very well so it was a little hard to communicate with them when there were any problems. They worked well and they did what they were supposed to do and got it done. They were on time.

From the start everything went smoothly. The salesperson was punctual and personable. Scheduling the move was easy and the movers were actually a little early. They were quick, professional and took good care of everything. They were down sooner than expected and thus the charge was much less than quoted. I will recommend them to everyone and will use them again.

Estimator pretty much nailed it. Recommended four guys to get the job done relatively quickly, avoiding storage and other fees. Good advice. Packed, loaded and moved the contents of a 3 bedroom home in one day. Didn't have to go far though. Anyway, the crew was prompt, neat, courteous and completely professional. Final cost pretty much matched the preliminary estimation.

Our experience was mixed. Nearly everything negative stems from a single issue: the estimator underestimated the size of our move pretty substantially. We got mutiple estimates that had similar or identical hourly rates, but My Guys said they could do it with one truck where the others wanted to send two. I made the mistake of assuming My Guys had a bigger truck and selected them based on lower estimated cost and a strong personal reference. Unfortunately, it definitely was a two-truck job. As a consequence, the time was substantially longer than estimated (requiring two trips) and the moving team was very rushed, particularly at the end. As the result of rushing, things were missed, a bit of a mess was left, and I had to do some of the furniture re-assembly. This is especially frustrating because we cleaned out and removed a large amount of stuff from our house between the estimate and the move- at one point half of our two-car garage was full with items were were disposing of or giving away / donating. But I cannot fault the packing and moving team- they were phenomenal, and they worked incredibly hard and carefully. The first day, they got the packing done under-budget. The second day, they gutted it out and got us moved, pulling what ended up being an 11 hour day. Nothing was broken when we unpacked, and things were boxed up logically and (for the most part) ended up in the right rooms (which was complicated by the fact we were moving into a larger house). If the estimate had been on-target, I suspect I would have been writing a rave review. But was it was, our move was stressful, long, and more expensive than planned. Given the quality of the on-site moving team I would give My Guys a second chance, but I'd be more skeptical of an estimate that was lower than other companies.

John and Max and Tony were just wonderful. They were kind and respectful and totally competent and careful with my belongings. They could not have been more helpful. They even moved some heavy furniture in my house before heading to the new house. I have already recommended them to a friend. I could not be more pleased!

Everything went well. The movers were professional and delivered everything within the time-frame communicated. They were careful and took good care of our things. The My Guys Moving quote was the cheapest and we felt like their service could not have been better!

They were excellent and I was more than happy with the service! I recommend them to absolutely anyone!

Everything went great with this company. They were prompt, hustled, took care of the furniture, and finished ahead of schedule. I was really impressed by the crew, service, and price. They also let me stop by the warehouse to pick up used boxes for the move free of charge.

I want to thank the My Guys team for a successful move to our new home. It was a stressful move for me but the guys who moved us were kind, compassionate, and helpful. We had many things and boxes. Wow do they work hard! They were very careful with packing my Mother's China. It all unpacked unbroken. I had some curio cabinets with curved glass. They were wrapped carefully and unbroken. Each piece of furniture they helped us put pads on to protect our floors in the new home. We had 2 + trucks worth of contents. God bless these men for their hard work!

I would recommend them. It’s ten people that work good and the price is great. Their employees were nice to deal with.

Austin from the company came on Tuesday to look over the property, see what needed to be loaded and gave a quote at that time. Then the mover's showed on time, started to load up the boxes, then the furniture and they were done in less time then originally estimated. The movers were quick, polite, and very easy to work with. I would recommend this company to all my friends that have moving needs.

This provider did a great job. We did a lot of the packing. We were in our house for 23 years and it took them about a day and a half to pack us up. They took great care when they came to move our belongings. Also picked up our belongings from our self-storage. Put their rugs down to ensure that they didn't stratch hardwood floors. Wrapping all of our furniture to ensure it was well protected. We were very pleased with the outcome. The same crew that pack us up, was the same crew that unloaded.

I am so pleased with My Guys and give them my highest recommendation. I received a handwritten card from Chris when my house went on the market--a noticable difference from the mass printed postcards other companies sent out. Still, I checked Angie's List and callled all of the top-rated companies. When I called My Guys, they had an estimator at my house that afternoon. His estimate was within 30 minutes of the actual time of the move today--no surprises. They followed up with emails and then a confirmation call. On the day of the move, movers got stuck in traffic and called to let me know where they were. Javier and Mario were fabulous. They wrapped and loaded my furniture quickly but carefully. They were done with my three-story rowhouse in less than two hours. At about noon, My Guys headquarters called me at noon to check on how things were going with the move. Half of my furniture went to storage, the rest to my new condo. Javier and Mario consolidated my things into the storage unit so well that we actually have room to move around and get to frequently used items. When we got to the condo, they were again very efficient and quick, even in small spaces, and there wasn't a second I worried about the newly installed wood floors or newly painted walls. Moving is such a stressful time--but if I had known how great My Guys would be I would not have been so stressed leading up to the move.

The provider was super -- attentive, reachable, accommodating. He really bent over backwards to satisfy our needs. His packers were professional and efficient and nice. Everything went really well and I would definitely use them again.

I will not use them again. The price was okay but it was the service I did not like. I had some Christmas decorations missing and my wallet was missing with credit cards in it. They also put wet things down on my hardwood floors. I could not get any satisfaction with them.

Was not able to find provider when I was ready to start the purchase, so was unable to take advantage of their deal.

Our experience was fantastic. It seems impossible, but our move was virtually stress free. The team that packed us was careful and thorough, and was very considerate in how boxes were labelled (flagging for us which ones contained essentials that should be opened first). The team that moved us was equally as careful and considerate. Everyone we dealt with -- from the estimator to the packing and moving crews were kind and helpful. Nothing was broken, the moving crew made sure everything ended up in the right place -- it was truly a pleasure to work with them.
