My Guys Moving & Storage

Not well. They were not aware that I had requested packing services, despite the confirmation conversation with Anthony the day before and my initial conversation with Tony. They took twice as long as what was quoted by Tony; and most of my glassware was broken when it arrived. (Luckily, they weren't able to pack every -- because my loading dock appointment window was about to expire, so I had some glassware left.) they scratched various edges and legs/bottoms of my wooden furniture, and they were generally not very efficient. In all fairness, some of the inefficiency was caused by work being performed in the stairwells of my old building, but there were long pauses -- 10 to 15 minutes where all of the movers were missing. This was my first - and last - experience with Angie's List. I will also be posting this review on Yelp so that no one else has to suffer what I did.

Fantastic. I met with Joe to arrange the move and he was excellent. Just prior to our moving day I was concerned that we had more boxes than would fit on the truck. Joe calculated and it worked out perfectly. The movers showed up on time, they did everything in the exact time I had been quoted and nothing was damaged. I have never seen guys work so hard. It was a very hot day and I had to keep handing them bottles of water because they wouldn't have stopped to get a drink. The whole experience was amazing.

We hired a team of 3 movers and one truck based on what we needed to move, mainly our furniture. We moved the rest ourselves. The move was scheduled to start at 10 but they arrived early, around 8:30. They were courteous and patiently waited while we corralled the pets. The move-out took all morning and after lunch they moved everything into our new home. They asked where we wanted items placed and made sure it was to our liking. Everything was carefully wrapped and padded, and we did not have any damage. I would definitely hire them again, but ask for a larger crew to move more of the household goods. They were great!!

Nothing broken/damaged/misplaced. Everything was brought to the appropriate areas in the home making our unpacking very easy.

My Guys came recommended by a friend of a friend and also, our realtor said she had many clients who used My Guys and were very happy. Those recommendations combined with My Guys great Angie's List reviews convinced us to choose them. The moving crew was punctual, polite, professional, and just did a great job getting us moved. Their customer service was exceptional, and all our household goods came through the move safely with no damage. I would highly recommend My Guys Moving. Working with them was a VERY positive experience.

Anytime I don't have to pack, it's a great day!

Not well. Had call for packers day before move. They arrived after 1:00 PM. I was told that My Guys did not employ day laborers and that they were all trained. Only one of three spoke English and at least one had to be shown how to wrap and pack. They removed screws from two flat screen tvs which were never found. They did a very poor job of inventory and documenting items. We also waited hours for material to arrive to create Grandfather clock. After loading an argument ensued regarding payment of loaders by driver. They argued that they deserved more money. After I tipped each $20.00 they left without even a thank you. The move original cast was about $5,500 and not to exceed 10%. I was charged about $6,700 and was told that load was under estimated.

Great service; professional staff; focused on the job; best price offer considering they covered all of the side costs associated with the move (covering floors and stair rails).

It was very smooth. Guys were fast, because we'd pre-packed everything.

We were very pleased with the work of the three gentlemen from My Guys Moving and Storage. They contacted us to let us know when they would arrive, and they did not leave until the entire truck was packed to the brim. The whole job took approximately 6.5 hours, the guys were EXTREMELY efficient, never stopped, worked continuously, and were very thorough and professional, polite and cordial. I would recommend them to anybody. They were amazing and we were extraordinarily impressed with their organization skills. Fantastic, fantastic job.

Same day scheduling, which was very useful. The three guys that came were fast, careful and respectful. I would definitely hire again based on this experience.

Well, the estimator was on time for looking over the house and contents, but after a week and multiple emails asking about the estimate and promises to get it to me, no estimate was received in time to make a decision or to consider their services. This when compared to other moving companies where I had the detailed estimate within an hour or two of the home visit. Not sure how I could possibly trust a company that can't even manage to get an estimate delivered in a week. Very strange, considering the number of highly rated reviews here on Angie's list.

Awful, horrible! They gave an estimate of $5800.00 initially. We had another company quote $4500 and said they could do it the same day. My Guys Moving said they would match this price. We have a saved voicemail saying they would match this price. We paid half. The sales rep from My Guys Moving said they would meet the $4500 price if we did the packing and bought the boxes. Another company said they This rep told us we would not get our deposit back. We went with My Guys Moving. At the end of the move, they handed us a bill for $5800.00. We told the mover we were going to call Terry, our sales rep because he had agreed to $4500.00. It took Terry 5 days to get back to us, saying he would look into it. After 5 days had passed, I picked up the pad on my 18,000.00 mahogany table and the guy who put it together had put 2 screws in top of it. They used screws that were too big and they went thru the table! Then, they threw the table pad on top of the table and didn't say anything so I wouldn't see it! So, I called the owner (Patrick Burks) 3 times. He will not call me back to discuss the invoice or the damage to my table. I sent him an email from the people who made the table saying it cannot be repaired because it is ruined. I sent him the email plus the voicemail saying they would do the move for $4500.00 They also won't honor the $4500.00 they promised. They won't put a clam in for the table until we pay the full amount of $5800 which is not what we agreed to after having done all the packing. I never received an apology from them. They did say they fired the guy who ruined my table which acknowledges guilt plus negligence on their part. My husband and I drove there yesterday to meet with the owner. We met with someone else who said we should meet with the owner and the sales rep. I explained the owner will not return my phone calls to discuss the problems we had. I highly recommend that no one use this company!

We have moved now 4 times in 2 years, and we have had some bad experiences in the past (to the tune of $2k in damage in one case). These guys were OUTSTANDING. Admittedly we weren't fully packed when they arrived, but they showed up at 8:15am (arrival window was 8-9am, we were expecting later) and got right to work. They laid down cloth paths in every major walking area and were thorough about putting furniture pads on everything, even the front door of the new place! They were loaded up in about 2 hours and beat us to the new place. Once there, they got right to work again and didn't stop until the job was done. We ran into a problem with our couch, but they went the extra mile in figuring out the problem and finding a way to get it into the house without causing any damage at all. I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat, and when we move again I hope to get the same crew!

The move went about as well as it could have. The movers were professional and courteous and did not do any major damage to any of our belongings or to either house. They did show up about an hour later on moving day than we had been told, but they got everything moved out quickly. I did wish that they would have protected the carpet in our master bedroom as it ended up getting dirty, but that's pretty much my only complaint for the moving day.

The estimate was given quickly and was quite reasonable. The moving crew, led by Uberto, was timely, efficient, careful, and polite.

A little late in arrival and it took longer than I had anticipated, but that's par for the course. Otherwise professional and very nice....

They were fine. They were kind of a good, kind of worked out price wise. They charged by the hour. Actually, we thought it was very reasonable, the cost, but we didn’t really check around or anything. I just felt like their cost was reasonable, so I went with them. I know they have lots and lots of employees. We actually used them 3 times. It was the same crew all three times and they were really good. We requested the same crew. They were fast, nothing arrived broken. They did a heck of a job actually. I had like 35 boxes of heavy books that they had to carry over here. They did it very quickly.

Over price that was quoted. Broke front door. Charged for time spent eating lunch. Would not use again

It went very well, The movers were fast and professional. It was raining but it did not slow them down. And we got the angieslist discount. Money worthy spending .

Not well! Packers only arrived after I called inquiring where they were. I called at 11:00 AM and they arrived after 1:00 PM. Plan was to pack one day then load the second day. On day two packers arrived and finished packing (removed bases from two flat screen tvs - three weeks later and still have not found original screws to reassemble tvs). Two different individuals took inventory. One marked half the items with blue numbered stickers while the other used green stickers. Numbers were copied for blue stickers but not for green stickers. I was assured multiple times that load would be partitioned to prevent mixing loads (only one half of the partitions were properly installed. Packers also complained to me about not being paid enough for work. Was also promised that My Guys used in house trained personnel and not day laborers. Only one appeared to speak English while the others spoke Spanish. My Guys representative promised floors and carpeting would be protected during move (only first floor was protected). My estimated cost was $5,782 with a maximum of $6,360 due at delivery (was charged $6,720 at delivery). Then to make matters worst some value keepsakes (antique electric trains that I had as a child were missing with a chair and vacuum cleaner). To date liability has been denied by movers.

The estimated time needed (2 hours) and the total crew size (3 guys) was just right to do the job. They arrived on time, had all the materials needed to protect my sofa and chairs and the wooden furniture. Each member of the crew did their job well and were very pleasant to work with.
