They were great, arrived when they said they would, got the job done, and left their work area clean. I took advantage of the special and it was well worth it.

The contractor arrived on time and got right to work.... While they were unable to finish the job, what they were able to do, was outstanding!

Called, responded and were on time. Fair pricing, told us what is possible even we decided not to remodel everything. We appreciate that.

Ivan and his crew did an excellent job of removing wallpaper (very difficult with so much glue to remove), then priming and painting the walls in the family room. They were not able to completely cover up the irregular drywall on the two story family room wall. On two occasions Ivan did come by to assist his two man team because of the difficulty in removing the wallpaper and glue completely from the walls. I appreciated the extra time spent by M & D to complete that section of of the job and not charge extra.

There was a communication problem between the estimator and the crew. I said I'd buy the paint for the ceiling & top of the wall. They ran out of paint during the job and didn't tell me. It looked fine at first blush, but it turned out that they only had enough paint for the ceiling; I had to go out, purchase more paint, and paint down the wall myself. They did a fine drywall job and a fine patch job in the ceiling in another room, but the communication breakdown was frustrating. None of the workers spoke good English, so the communication problems were exacerbated because of that as well.

I spoke with the provider and it turns out the deal is suitable for the work I need to have done.

I was extremely pleased w/ this big deal purchase. The paint work that was done looks phenominal and it was a pleasure to work with the crew from M&D. The guys were extremely prompt, courteous and incredibly quiet when they were doing the work. The quality of work is fantastic. I have hired a few painters over the years to do various work and M&D is by far the best I have dealt with from a workmanship standpoint. I would not hesitate to hire M&D again.

The provider showed on time. The nice part was I didn't have to be home for them. Deck looked fine when they finished.

There were no additional fees associated with the deal though.

It was pretty good. They sent 2 people out to do the job. The cleanup was good.

They did the best painting job I have ever had on these two rooms. They removed wall paper border and painted and leaned up afterwards. I would highly recommend their services.

My experience was great! The drywall repair turned out perfect. You could not tell there were holes in the wall. He cleaned up well after himself.

It went really well. Ivan was very responsive in setting up the appointment and moving it back a day. The two guys were wonderful--diligent, detail-oriented, and very personable. The wallpaper ended up being very easy to take down (you never can tell how stubborn it is until you try to remove it) and they had lots of time left to prepare the walls. They even repaired a spot on my ceiling from old water damage. In all their repairs, they never mentioned a fairly large (3-4") bubble in the hallway. I'm sure it was there before they did the work, but I didn't notice it until afterward and I'm not sure why they didn't fix it or mention it. They were good about pointing out everything else. Maybe it wasn't fixable. Of note: if you only need them for a specific amount of time, be clear about that. I purchased the 16-hour (8 hr/2 person) deal and planned to finish on my own anything that wasn't complete. The guys thought they were scheduled for both days and seemed a bit disappointed when I told them I didn't need them back the next day. I would absolutely hire them again, which leads me to my only other frustration. I discussed additional work with Ivan and he asked me to email him the list of what I wanted done. I emailed, but it's been over a week and I haven't heard back. It doesn't diminish the great job they did on my walls or how charming they were to work with, but it will cause me to look at other services for additional paint work.

Everything went great! They arrived early, went straight to work, however we discovered that there were two layers of wallpaper. None the less, they got all the paper down, and then found that some of the wallboard nails were protruding. They removed them, inserted screws in the studs, patched the areas, and sanded. The result was a very smooth wall which they primed and painted. A beautiful job.

I had a very good experience with M&D. The deal I purchased on Angie's List was very easy and straightforward. The company contacted me promptly and asked for additional details, such as sq footage of area and pictures of areas in need of drywall repair. I provided some dates that were best for me and they were very accommodating. When everything was confirmed I was provided a list of materials I needed to purchase and they offered to purchase them for me at a cost of $75 extra (not including the paint). I purchased them myself at Home Depot and it came to ~$110 so I would recommend paying M&D to provide the materials. The 2 painters arrived on time and ready to work. The work was to be done in my finished basement, which is about 1000 sq ft, and I knew they would not be able to complete everything in 1 day. I had the option of hiring them again for a 2nd day or just get as much done in 1 day as possible. I chose the latter and prioritized what I wanted them to work on. They were able to do much more than I thought they would, and I only had to paint 1 small hallway and apply a 2nd coat on another area. They covered everything with plastic before they began and used drop cloths where they were painting. They taped the baseboards but not the ceiling, which I found curious, but their lines on the ceiling joint were just as straight as the taped baseboards. The drywall work was very good...I can't even tell there were holes in the walls, which is the reason I hired them in the first place. I would have painted it myself but my drywall skills are not very good. I was also very pleased with their painting. I have more painting on my main and second levels and will definitely call M&D again.

Top quality wall paper removal, dry wall repair and paint. This turned out to be a much bigger job than they expected, but they were very detailed and focused on the quality of the finished product. Communication of project status and issues was good. The work area was always kept need, and the crew very courteous. Will definitely hire again.

The estimator couldn't have been nicer. He was early for the estimate and I invited him in when I saw him sitting in his truck waiting. I explained the job...wallpaper removal and a repaint of my foyer area and upstairs hallway. He was very conversant, took extensive measurements and told me to expect my estimate via email the following Monday (this was Thursday). No estimate has ever arrived. I have no problem with a contractor turning down a job for whatever reason. However, the grown-up professional way to go about that is to CALL the customer or at the very least to email the customer to let them know. Very unprofessional in my opinion to just leave people hanging.

A great experience. My 16 hours were 2 workers for 8 hours. They showed up on time and were very diligent about prepping the areas they were going to paint. They achieved an incredible amount of work in the one day they were here. Their work was top notch.

They were very quick to set up a date and time via email. They showed up on time and begain work immediately. They took great care to cover everything to avoid and splatter or drips. They worked quickly and accomplished a lot in the time alotted. They cleaned up everything at the end of the day. The supervisor came by at the end of the day to ensure that the work was completed and that we were satisfied.....we were very satisfied.

This is the second time I've used them for painting. I wouldn't have used them again if I had been dissatisfied. I will use them again in the future.

I began my association with this company through an Angie's List deal that provided 16 hours of painting services for $499. Ivan Mora, the owner of M & D Home Repairs and Remodeling, came to my house in advance of the work to scope out how much of the house could get painted in the allotted time. Ivan patiently helped me choose good quality paint for the job and helped me decide the best paint finish to use. The painters arrived at my house on time and ready to work. When the job was completed, Ivan inspected the area with me and marked any areas that he deemed not up to his high standards. I was so impressed by the results, I decided to paint the rest of the house and have other work done, as well (other work will be reviewed separately). The subsequent interior painting projects included painting plaster walls in my upper 2 levels and knotty pine paneling, cinder block & dry wall in the lower levels. The pine paneling required several coats of primer and paint. Special moisture resistant paints were used for the bathrooms and the cinder block walls. Some of this work was done while I was out of town for several months. I left a key to my house with Ivan and was very comfortable with he and/or his men being in my home in my absence. Ivan charges a very fair price and is very pleasant to work with. I highly recommend him. A special thank you to everyone that painted my house, including Marcos, Rodis, Alex and Luis (Sorry if I've omitted anyone).

I am very satisfied with the service I received from provider. Workers arrived on time and finished job in the time specified by The Deal. I had damage around my bathroom skylight that had not been repaired when I had the skylight replaced sometime ago. Provider did an excellent job! Also, I had holes in the ceiling of 4 rooms made by a disreputable contractor I had hired a couple of years ago to install an air conditioning unit. I was very happy to finally not be looking up into my attic from the bedrooms. Thanks again. Angie's List rocks!
