The two-man crew arrived on time and went to work right away. They were neat and put down tarps into the house, up the stairs and in the room where they worked. What they did was exactly what I asked for. However, I strongly urge you to do your homework and get a second estimate for cost and scope of work. I did and found their offer posted on Angie's List to be both fair and accurate. And when they were done they left the room in which they worked very clean This is what they offered and this is what was delivered, except for painting which will be done at a later date. --------- Prepping, painting interior surfaces and priming if needed; Minor drywall repair, taping surfaces if needed it (sic); Wallpaper removal; Labor of Two Professional Painters PW/Vienna, Virginia

I recently bought an old house, fixer upper, a bit beat up, neglected, and in need of updating. I had already hired someone else before I knew of M&D to install a new ceiling and redo one wall in the basement. I hired M&D as the second phase to fix minor issues with the old walls, sand, prime, and paint. They did a great job. Very professional work and attitudes. Good training. No need to ask them to do what is expected. They just did it and asked questions when needed and made useful recommendations for future work. And they listened to my one or two requests. They went beyond expectations based on experience I've had with others. They kept their work neat and clean as well. Kinda like the old days.

They arrived on time. Did an amazing job protecting our home; they hung plastic sheets covering every wall, doorway, and piece of furniture. The spackling and painting went very well, we were very happy with all they got done. We did have to clean some paint off of the crown molding and some splatter on the handrails. Overall, we were very pleased.

They did the power washing and the walls around the patio were rinsed off. The siding around the deck was also rinsed, but after the patio was washed, some splashes were left on the siding and were not rinsed off. I cleaned these off myself. They then had to wait for two dry days before putting on the stain. This made sense and would provide a more lasting application, rather than staining the damp wood. I purchased the stain and they did the application. The deck looks great and the patio is clean. They did a very nice job and I would use them again.

Painters performed work as provided in estimate. I did not read estimate closely and did not notice that painting of all trim was not included in estimate. (Some trim was included other trim not included - it was confusing.) Specifically discussed a drywall fix with the estimator that was presumably included in the estimate. The painters forgot to do the fix until after the molding was installed at which point any fixes would have looked bad or amateurish. Lots of cleanup after painters left. Trash bags were left on my front porch instead of by the road (it was raining, I guess). Empty paint cans left in the laundry room. Was charged for 97 ft of molding when the perimeter of the family room was only 74 ft. Noticed that a 10 ft piece of molding was left over and was lying in my front yard after the molding was installed. The next day the 10 ft piece disappeared and was told that only 2 pieces of 2ft and 2.5 ft molding were left over. Cleaned up a margarita drink broken bottle in front of the house where the painter truck was parked. Sorry for such a generous price, I expected a lot more professionalism. Won't be using these folks again.

Company was more responsive than others I've used for similar jobs in the past and were 40% less expensive than my usual contractor. Their work was as good as other companies I've used, but they actually communicate the status of their work, unlike others. They put in hundreds of 2" tiles for my shower surround and worked with me, offering suggestions, as I finalized my half-baked design. Highly recommended.

It went wonderfully well. They were very professional and handled the work well. While they couldn't get all of the work done in the allotted number of time, they graciously extended the deal so that the work could be completed. I would definitely hire them again and look forward to hiring them in the next two months for more work.

They were good. They gave an estimate and came in and fixed it. They certainly were competitive in their fee. They came out shortly after I called them. For punctuality, I think they were fine- I can't remember exactly. If I needed somebody, I would certainly call them and get an estimate.

We had M&D Home Repairs repair some cracked plaster, paint our living room, dining room, hall, and trim this past week. We are thrilled with the results and had a great experience. The initial response to our inquiry was quick, the crews showed up on time, were professional, polite and we had no worries. We will definitely call on M&D Home Repairs in the future.

Ivan is a joy to work with. The craftsmen who work for him are professionals with a serious eye for detail. Ivan helped us plan the renovations of 3 bathrooms, which happened 1 at a time so we would still have working bathrooms through the process. We were responsible for purchasing vanities, mirrors, toilets, tubs, shower doors, fans, lights, etc. We worked with Ivan and his tile supplier to purchase the tile -- Ivan was a great resource in guiding us through the tile selection and his design eye helped made the end result beautiful. No renovation ever goes completely smoothly, but when problems arose, Ivan was able to quickly find a resolution. He was never satisfied with good enough, but insisted his craftsmen strive for perfection. The workers were polite, efficient and made sure to clean up behind themselves.

Work was great. Team was punctual.

Two painters arrived punctually. They asked what work I wanted them to do. I didn't know how much time my primary project, the hallway, would take, so I had thought of a few other things that they could work on if they got it done early. They got to work immediately, tented the stairway, sanded the walls, and put on a coat of paint in the first few hours. The extra work that I had suggested was not going to use the remaining hours, so they asked what else I would want. I mentioned that I would love to have the dining room painted, but did not have the paint (or even a color chosen)---they said that if I could get the paint by about 1:00, when they would be back from their 30 minute break for lunch, they could do it. My neighbor helped me pick a color and picked up the paint for me while the painters were putting a second coat on the hallway. They prepped the dining room walls (sanded, filled nail holes etc) and finished that. While waiting for the paint to dry between coats they did the other work I mentioned. The painting work was beautiful. Where the color met the chair rail, cornices, ceiling edges the line was perfect. They were efficient, speedy, professional and pleasant. If they were not actually prepping or painting, they were cleaning up their supplies. I was very pleased. They fact that the quick choice of color for the dining room worked out wonderfully didn't hurt the overall experience--my helpful neighbor gets an "A", too! The "Big Deal" I had purchased required that I provide painting materials (in addition to paint, that meant drywall materials, primer, rollers, tape, etc. I have done a lot of painting in my house myself, so I had it on hand anyway. I think they had their own supplies available in their truck and would have charged me if they had needed to use them.

Crew showed up exactly on time and did a great job. Was very happy with the end results. Also of note was the terrific job they did cleaning up after they were done. They took the time to really clean up well. Will use them again in the future!

I called on May 21 or 22nd to get an estimate. I put them on my calendar for Tuesday May 26 @8:30 to show up to provide an estimate as agreed upon when speaking to the owner of the company over the phone. Not only did they not show up, I never got a call explaining why.

M&D did a great job, their staff showed up on time, with supplies on hand to do the job quickly and efficiently. I would hire them again.

I think I bought 2 days and he did everything in a day and half and I told him you got done with what I want go home. He was very thorough.

They showed up early, were very professional, completed the work and did a great job. They answered my questions, were careful with the carpet and furniture and were not overpriced (as other estimates I received). I recommend them to others and would use their services again for bigger jobs.

A great team arrived on time and went straight to work. I arrived home each day and they had cleaned up all the mess and any signs that they had been at the house. A really great job and i would use them again. Ivan was very understanding with working with our schedule, and also credited us the Angies list special pricing voucher towards the cost, which also came in under budget.

We are selling our house and we needed to have the main floor, master bedroom, and upstair hallway patched and painted for staging purposes. Ivan provided a prompt estimate for the paint and labor. His crew arrived promptly at 8:30am on Monday morning, February 2nd. The original time estimate was 3 days, but after starting the repairs, it became apparent that an extra day was needed. Ivan kept to his original estimate and the crew did a fantastic job repairing, painting, and cleaning up the work areas upon completion each day. Like all major paint jobs, there's always a little hitch. That weekend, we noticed that crew forgot to paint an area around the skylights in the master bathroom. We e-mailed Ivan that day (Saturday) and texted pictures of the area in question. He responded immediately and sent out a painter first thing that Monday AM who arrived promptly at 8:30am and completed the paint job within a couple of hours. He was pleasant, courteous, and completed the job with minimal disruption to our morning routine. I would highly recommend Ivan and his paint crew to anyone looking for good quality repair and paint supported by courteous service and professionalism.

We are in the process of moving out and wanted to make sure the house was in the best condition for the new owners. There were some sizable holes in a few areas that needed patched and repainted. Given that we were in the midst of packing and needed someone fast, we turned to our trusted and reliable Ivan at M & D Home Repairs. After reaching out to Ivan on a Saturday (again), he sent Miguel and Marcos who arrived promptly at 8:30am on Monday morning. I had supplied the paint (after getting it matched at Lowes) but they supplied everything else. Within 5 hours, they had the walls and powder room looking brand new. We can now rest assure that the new occupants will move into a home that looks like brand new thanks to the outstanding job by Miguel and Marcos. Everything went very well. no problems setting up the appointment, they came on time and did a very nice job. Was happy with the cleanup as well. Will use them again in the future.
