*** Unfortunately, I have to edit my earlier review. After using Magna Tech last year, my ac was having problems again this summer start in late May. I called another company. They came by and found out that the wiring to the capacitor that was replaced by Magna Tech was done incorrectly. As a result, there was too much capacitance going to the fan. Consequently the safety switch on the fan would get too much juice and it s safety mechanism would shut down. I am really saddened to write this review, because Albert was very good from a customer service perspective. I can see how this mistake could easier be made, since too many jumpers were attached in a row. It is unfortunate, because I had to call MagnaTech last year, and this other company this year. With an extremely warm summer and a very pregnant wife, this left us in quite the bind. --------------------- I put in my project on homeadvisor. Albert called me back very quickly despite it being after hours (I believe around 8pm). He said he could come by at 10am the next day. He said it would be a $69 diagnostic charge, which could be applied to the work if I decided to use him. I called him back and decided to use him. He called about 30-40 minutes before he came to let me know he was on the way. He showed up on time. Albert is extremely polite and patient. He came with me to the back to inspect the unit. He tested the capacitor, which both of us suspected was the issue. He replaced it with a spare he had, a turbo 200 brand. He also tested the freon levels, and inspected the blower motor. He also checked the RLA (Rated Load Amperage, the maximum current a compressor should draw under any operating conditions) It was slightly above 1/2, which is what he said is to be expected based on the weather conditions. He also went inside and inspected the air filter. He gave me some recommendations, since I had not maintained mine properly. He also checked the contactor (?) We waited around to make sure everything was working properly and that it kept cooling which it did. The cost of the repair was $280, and the $69 diagnostic fee was rolled into that cost. My only gripe with the whole experience was the price of the repair. The part is $59 on amazon, and even if he charged me triple the price of the part $59 x 3 and the diagnostic fee $69, the total only comes out to $250. I have not deal with much home repair (knock on wood) since owning this house, so maybe this is expected. I even contacted about 15 other contractors after this just to see how this price ranked, and this is definitely the highest. Most of them charge between $59 - $95 for the diagnostic fee, and between $97 - $140 for the repair, so again on the high end, it comes out to under $250. If this were between $180 - $200, i would have definitely given them 5 stars. As far as ranking them in Quality (time will tell), Responsiveness (definitely 5 stars), Punctuality (again 5 stars), Professionalism (again 5 stars). Price is where i would say it s about 3.5 stars, based on my math above. According to homeadvisor, the average repair for my area is $348 (with a typical range of $196 - $539) Again, i want to emphasize, Albert is extremely professional, patient, and wants you to understand what he is doing.

Albert was just great, came same day, fixed problem, just in time for the 'heat'. Wish all folks would be this good to have whne problems happened.

Tech explained all that was required to be replaced now and what could wait. Thankful to get same day service on a very hot and humid day!

Albert was on time and quick in diagnosing the problem and the fix needed. He didn’t force in getting the work done thru him and advised to get few quotes to check the pricing. But I went ahead and get the job done. I felt it is little expensive, but have to get it fixed as i’ve guests at home. Good thing is that it’s covered with regular warranty and the paid up total could be used towards down payment if I choose to replace the whole system.

They called in few minutes after I submitted the request for AC service and they came and fixed the AC unit at the same day. Very knowledgeable and sufficient. True value for money as well

Albert was great. Literally ran through my entire system with good and bad information.

Took time to explain in detail everything that was wrong with our HVAC and gave recommendations. Never felt like he was in a rush and was very professional.

Albert was very professional and did a great job replacing our water heater. Our water heater is upstairs off the bedrooms. He covered the carpeting and was able to replace our 65 gallon water heater with a 75 gallon water heater. We highly recommend this company. Great job, well done.
