Kolb Electric

After purchasing the surge protector and installation services on Angie's List, I got a confirmation email with instructions to call Wendy at Kolb Electric. I called on Saturday and received a call on Monday morning to set an appointment for Wednesday at 8am. The electrician showed up right on time at 8am, and I showed him where the main panel was. He hooked the surge protector up, and at the same time gave me instructions on it's use and had completed the entire install in about 10 minutes. Fast, quick and easy. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic experience. I am less than 24 hours away from putting my house on the market when a ceiling flush mount light fixture, which has been problematic over time, just decided to fully separate from the ceiling. In a panic, I turn to Angie's List, find the top-rated electrician in the area (Kolb), expecting to have to wait until tomorrow to get someone out, and what is that going to do for my listing, and..... They get someone out within four hours. Less than four hours. I called at noon, Chris (the tech) was here by 2:45. Chris could not have been nicer, or more professional - got it done, saved me worlds of aggravation, and everything is back to normal. And the price was fully reasonable too - no emergency charge, or anything. Kolb is definitely getting repeat business from this household. Most excellent.

We were very pleased with the support that was provided. The electrician arrived on time. It turned out that due to the nature of the work, another electrical technician needed to be called. Kolb was able to schedule this work the same day, and within 2 hours. When the switches were installed, new switch covers were required. The technician ordered these covers and they were available the next day. It was very easy to schedule an appointment with this company and they met their appointment times.

Job went well and was not expensive.

They called 1/2 hour ahead of arrival & were very prompt. The electrician was professional & courteous. The job took just under a half hour. I was completely satisfied with the work done & would use them again.

They had a lead time of over a week which seemed a long time to wait but may not be exrtraordinary. But on the appointed day everything went like clockwork. I got a call beforehand, the electrician showed up on time, was very professional and courteous, and best of all skillfully performed the repair.

Person answers the phone and set up a convenient appointment. The repairman came to replace hard wired smoke detectors. He was on time and efficient. He replaced the smoke detectors and checked some other electrical issues for me. I have used them in the past and would call again.

Initial call describing the work went well. Workman showed up on time and with all needed equipment including a tall ladder for the ceiling fan. Worked each issue and consulted us with findings, recommendations and eventual solutions. Did not gold plate or up-sell. Showed us exactly what was wrong with the light in the fan and went on-line to find the necessary replacement part which was unavailable from the manufacturer. Discussed cost of fan replacement and installation and the ability to match the other ceiling fans. Worth the diagnosis and consultation. Cleaned up each job. Was polite and very helpful. Quality job, a year later we're still very satisfied.

Good company to work with. The estimator and the electrician were both punctual, courteous and professional. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Tried to change a light switch on our own, blew the fuse several times. We crossed wires at one point in the outlet we were trying to fix, and it knocked out the whole living room.

This was not an emergency, so we were willing to wait over a week for an appointment. We were able to make the arrangements via email, which I like. The electrician called ahead on the day of the appointment and showed up on time. He showed us the problem and then fixed it in less than an hour.

Very well - the cause of the problem was identified very quickly. The electrician did a good job explaining the issue and commenting on his experiences with other units in my community.

Mr. Loveless was terrific--he was right on time and gave me the 30 min advance call I requested so I could stay at work until the last minute and didn't have to sit home for the whole window. Very thorough estimate process, and very professional!

Called Kolb after calling two other contractors listed on Angie's, neither of whom had a human answering the phone. Kolb's dispatcher picked up immediately, and after asking a number of questions helpful in determining the scope of the job, offered to have someone come to my home today. Wow! An hour later, I had a friendly, competent, helpful electrician trooping through my home to identify the cause of the weird outlet issues. Oddly enough, it was a short in my outside lamp post, which was controlled by the GFI outlet in my powder room that was causing all the problems. Lamp post disconnected and estimate for repair provided, we moved onto issue 2 - the flooded recessed lighting. Again, the problem was solved quickly to my satisfaction. Finally, he provided me with an estimate for adding additional outlets to my basement. That work couldn't be done today because it would require materials not on the truck. That said, I will be scheduling that work with Kolb in the coming weeks. All around, a great experience. Oh, and neither of the other two contractors, both Angie's List 2011 Super Service Award Winners, have even called me back yet!

When I called for an appointment I was hoping to get an electrician here within the next few days. They were able to confirm an appointment for between 10:00 and 12:00 the same day. The electrician arrived a few minutes before 10:00. He replaced the bathroom switches/wall receptacles. He did not have the supplies needed to install a ground fault interrupter in the bathroom (which I had not mentioned when I made the appointment, it was a last-minute thought on my part) without returning at a later time so I just had the repair done. The wires in the closet light were repaired. I expected him to be out on the carport for a while repairing the carport light, but he came back in less than two minutes and said it was a loose socket and it was working now. I was impressed. He also gave me an estimate for putting a room air conditioner on a separate circuit and explained the work involved. The total cost of repairs was $200 after the $20 Angie?s List coupon. This is my first experience with electrical repair, but I would not hesitate to use them again for additional electrical work. One thing I wish were a little different is the repair slip given to the customer after the work is done. He showed me an itemized repair slip showing each repair and its cost and I looked it over, but the repair slip stub he tore off and handed to me is not itemized, just a description and total cost. In hindsight I would ask to make a copy of the itemized repair slip before he left.

The technician checked the wall switches, one of which was not wired properly, and then pull the ceiling light to check it. He found some shorted wires in the ceiling fixture. After fixing the wiring in the ceiling fixture, he then corrected the wiring on the two switches that control the light. Since he was already at the house I asked him to look at a wall socket that had never worked properly. He did a great job of finding the problem which was in a separate wall socket upstream of the one that didn't work. The technician did a great job of diagnosing and fixing both problems.

They came right away. I found them on Angie’s List. There were 2 different guys who came out, they were professional, very respectful and they took time. Their estimator comes out beforehand. He is just terrific, Glen was his name. They explained everything and went into great detail about what was needed and made certain that I understood what it was going to cost and he understood what I needed. He gave me an estimate and then it was followed up by 2 guys. Their pricing was reasonable. I didn’t get any other estimates but I looked at other comments that people had made about them and I thought that it was reasonable. My husband used to be an electrician and he said it was reasonable for what they did. They came when they said they would.

They came in and fixed the problem in no time. Would definitely use them again. Very professional and prompt. The customer service is great.
