Mess up ceiling trying to find where to put in recess lights. Didn't allow him to finish. Called in someone else.

They were prompt and efficient. They were able to fix the problems very quickly.

Very, very fast. Serviceman didn't waste a second and did his best to find the problem as quickly as possible to keep the cost down. Very impressive. This was a few years ago, so I don't remember the serviceman's name, but my recommendation is to ask for the wiry guy who is very energetic. He's the only guy I met from Kolb, so I can't rate the normal service. This guy was amazing.

I called Kolb Electric on a Sunday when I realized that my GFCI outlets in the two bathrooms were not functioning. I was unable to reset them. I had no idea if the problem was caused by the numerous power outages or something else. Kolb Electric contacted me by 8am the next morning (Mon) and had a technician at my house by 9:30a. Ugo arrived promptly (actually beat me to my house) and identified the issue was with the outside power pole light. He removed the old fixture and replaced with a new one. Then tested all of the outlets to ensure that they were working correctly. As there was no immediate "visible" cause and Ugo had to thoroughly check all options, I think the fact he was able to identify the problem, fix it and test to ensure all was operational within an hour is a true reflection of his abilities and Kolb's goals of working as quickly and efficiently as possible. (Clearly they are not trying to over-charge for unnecessary time.) Very pleased with Kolb and Ugo's friendly service and professionalism. This is my second experience with Kolb and both have been very positive.

They arrived right on time, they provided excellent consultation and understood our needs. The work was completed efficiently and quickly.

After calling some more local electricians who were busy, I noted that Kolb was highly rated by Angie's List and called. Within 2 hours I had Francisco arrive at my house. He did a thorough job of trouble-shooting the issue and effected the repair. He thoroughly retested to ensure all was working well, and provided some guidance should another problem crop up. I was extremely happy with the service Francisco provided and would not hesitate to call Kolb again for any electrical issue.

From the estimate to work completion, we had no issues with scheduling, communication, negotiating wait times for lights to arrive from manufacturer, cleanup, quality or professionalism. We had one light that remained on back order a month later than we expected to be able to complete the work. Kolb came out and completed one portion of the job so that we could move forward on another project while we awaited the one light to come in and complete the other part of our job. They were extremely accommodating and did that without hassle and even without charge. They charged us at the completion of ALL work. They made a couple of suggestions along the way based on what they saw once they got into something and we agreed to upgrade and keep current with the electrical. We expected to pay more for the 3 upgrades. They did not, they held to the original contracted price. Each time there was a message left, they promptly returned the call.

The electrician showed up when he said he would, and made the repairs in a professional manner. The only issue I had was with the pre-service question about billing rates. When I was shopping around and asked Kolb what their rates were, they failed to mention there is a minimum charge of one hour. Mine was a small job and this policy added an additional $30 to my bill. Had I know that I might have selected another firm.

The service was excellent. The work was done quickly and our installer was right on time. The quality was great and we have had no problems with the box installed. I will definitely be using Kolb in the future for our next project.

I have had a problem with my outside AC unit popping the circuit breaker, typically in the early Spring each year. The HVAC people I have had over have never been able to diagnose the problem. This time, I decided to go with an electrician. The electrician was able to locate a short circuit that was occurring on the wall-mounted box next to the outside unit. He fixed it quickly, and I paid. It was worth every penny to finally put this issue to bed.

Francisco from the Sterling office was one of the best contractors we've ever had! He was on time, explained what he needed to do, was very polite and professional! He's a gem!

They never showed up for the estimate appointment and never bothered to call and say they weren't coming.

It was about $80 a ceiling fan so it cost us around $240. I thought they did a good job for a good price. It is a pretty big local company and I see their trucks everywhere. I called them and they asked me what time the next day do I want them to come. I used them 2 different times, and both times they asked what time tomorrow so availability is great. Even if they had to drill a hole in the ceiling, everything was immaculate when they left. Their cleanliness, efficiency, and timeliness stood out about them.

The electrician informed me ahead of time that there would be an additional charge since the size of my home would require two units, but the price ended up being less than quoted. When he arrived, the electrician walked me through everything he was doing, and confirmed what was needed and what would be done before starting. Overall, I was very happy with the service and would definitely use Kolb Electric again.

letting the rest of my neighbors know the attention we'd received. There was a phone call within fifteen minutes of sending the e-mail and a bucket truck on site changing the bulb, however, we never received any refund; they put back the old halide bulb. We use Jomar now.

Service provider was punctual and courteous. They were timely and did a excellent job. I would recommend this provider to others.

The dryer plug started sparking so we call Kolb Electric on a Sunday. They called back on Monday morning and said that they could have a technician come out later that day. The technician came and assessed that the dryer plug needed to be replaced as well as the box around the socket but the wire was in good shape. Unfortunately, he didn't have the parts on-hand so he ran out to Home Depot to buy them. When he got back, he resolved the issue and everything has been great since.

It is a very nice electrical company; I would give them the highest rating. The service was excellent; very nice, helpful, and prompt. The person that did the job was very nice and he pointed out all the horrible things that could happen. The price included the surge protector. I have not had any issues since the service was provided.

The surge protector continues to protect, as far as we can tell. (No lightning incident apparent to test it.) The bathroom outlets now function, but the light fixtures stopped working shortly after the appointment. Recently, for reasons unknown, they started working again. Waiting to see how long that lasts.

Everything went well. The electricians arrived when they said they would. The explained the process and got to work. They actually had to put the pieces of the new chandeliers together. The saved the bulbs from the old chandeliers and placed them into the new lights. The men took away all the boxes and cleaned afterwards.

I called Kolb on Wednesday thinking that I would be given an appointment next week; they were able to fit us in the next day! The gentleman was very polite and it didn't take hardly anytime. I had been quoted $285 but it came in $35 cheaper - I was very surprised and pleased. We are going to have to have our electrical panel upgraded and when it's time, I will be calling Kolb. They were a pleasure to deal with!

My electric dryer was getting power failure alerts but it seemed the problem was not the dryer but the power coming to it. At my own request, I had Kolb Electric replace the circuit breaker for that appliance, even though they could not be 100% sure it was going bad. I just wanted to eliminate that as the cause for the problem I was having with my dryer. In addition I changed out 2 old smoke detectors. I felt they did a very satisfactory job in both the diagnostic checking and the work which was completed in 45 minutes. However, I was surprised when it came time to pay for services. As many contractors do, they charge time and materials. So much for the first 30 minutes, then so much for each 15 minutes after that. Being on a tight budget, I watched the clock very carefully and when the bill was presented, I was being charged for an additional 15 minutes on the clock. I discovered I was being charged for time on the clock while the technician was preparing the bill, which ended up in going 2 minutes into the next 15 minute period. I refused to pay for that and they ended up removing it from the bill so I was satisfied but in the end, I did not feel great I had to bring that up. I do not know yet if this is a common practice and when I next need an electrician I will be checking with other companies to see if they do that also. I do not think it is a good business practice. Still, I was satisfied with the quality of the work done itself.

Needed a dedicated 20-amp outlet for a freezer. Distance from breaker box to placement of outlet is about 10 feet. The guy cut six holes in the drywall!! Said he kept getting hung up on the insulation, but we could get someone in to fix it. Thanks, that someone would be me. No, he didn't attach the electrical wire to a cable to pull it through as I've seen other electricians do. The next day they sent another electrician to add a light switch in a hallway. This one cut only three holes in the drywall. Both very nice guys, just too knife happy. So, two jobs nine drywall holes. Learned our lesson. Hire electricians that do their own drywall patching. If they don't do their own drywall patching they obviously won't be concerned about how many holes they make.

The service went fine. They showed, they did what they're supposed to and left. I'm calling them to get a quote cause we'd use them again.
