Excellent job painting and repairing drywall. Very detailed and high quality. John cares about his clients and his crew does really good job. They covered everything very well, they cleaned after themselves and the quality of their work was really great.

He used to be good. But something has changed in his business or crew team. I would not recommend him anymore! Left the job unfinished and walked away

It always feels like a game of chance to find a good contractor. Then I got really lucky. John Zarou, the owner of JZ Painting arrives when he says he will, completes the job when he says it will be completed and charges a very competitive price. He did some work on a townhouse I own in Sterling. It was done on time and with excellent workmanship. He even cleaned the gutters out without asking (they had never been cleaned!) and said it was no charge! I have now hired him to paint my whole house in Reston. He really took the time to listen and understand what I wanted done. At the same time, he was also careful to inspect the exterior to determine what actually needed to be done. His proposal was thorough and includes all the prep work, caulking all areas, replacing the wood (he found all the bad spots!), removing rust from and painting a wrought iron railing and replacing some outdoor lights. I can't say enough about him and hesitate to let this wonderful secret out because I don't want to wait in line for future work I need done. I will update the post when the second job is complete. UPDATE: Due to lots of rainy days, the project took longer than expected but it is now completed and I am delighted with the work. I can't even tell you how many of my neighbors stopped by to say how sharp it looks. It is an outstanding job and I will hire JZ again to paint the interior. He is great with helping select colors too. He will be starting on the interior this month (Oct 2010).
