We were predisposed toward DryHome because of the impressive ratings here on Angie's List. They did not disappoint. We got three estimates. The other two companies offered deep discounts if we were willing to commit on the same day that we got the estimate. I really didn't like this, and I told them so. It indicated to me that they were not confident enough in their product for us to choose them if we did a prudent comparison among their competitors. By contrast, DryHome took about a week to send an estimate. This was a little frustrating at first, but the estimate they sent was far more detailed than their competitors. Having chosen DryHome and signed a contract, we initially expected to have to wait several weeks. However, they got an opening and were able to do the roof in short order. They asked us to vacate the driveway in order to start at 8 am, but actually arrived and began work a 7 am. The crew was very careful to protect the building and the landscaping, to include putting plywood sheets in front of the garage doors for protection. They worked for some 12 hours, until it was nearly dark, to complete the project in one day. Their clean-up was spotless. To look at the house, you would not know that such a major project had occurred, except that the roof was beautiful! At their recommendation, they removed our attic fan, in lieu of vents along the peak of the roof, a more efficient means of ventilating the attic, and one that does not require moving parts or electricity. Indeed, the attic fan had to be serviced numerous times in the dozen years that we used it. We would have purchased the highest grade shingles, but went a step down because there was a greater selection of colors. Bottom line: DryHome may not be the cheapest or the quickest choice for a roof. But in our experience, they are the best.

I reviewed companies to replace our shingles and gutters. I got quotes from 2 equal companies - both long established, quality work and good reputations. Both companies came by the house to look at the work that needed to be done and provided estimates. I picked DryHome because their estimate was about $2000 less than the other company. I had DryHome check the roof, gutters and attic for possible additional insulation. DryHome said the roof and gutters were in good shape but the roof was worn and recommended replacement. They said the insulation in the attic was fine and that replacing the roof and extending the vent ridge should fix the air circulation on the second floor. Our salesman Ben was great. His estimate was spot on and he did not try to sell us anything we did not need. He quickly answered all my questions throughout the process. My biggest fear/concern was how they would treat my property and how much damage would be done. I am very happy to say there was no damage at all to our property, the work was completed when they said it would be completed and they did an excellent job cleaning up.

It went smoothly! They came and gave me an estimate. Once I paid the deposit, they quickly scheduled it and were done in about 8 hours. The crew did not communicate with me even though I was home all day. I wish they had shown me the plywood they had to replace. A few days later a quality chick came and after checking said, that everything looked great.

My very first call to discuss a visit and estimate was answered immediately by a receptionist who was professional and helpful and set up an appointment for an estimator to come to my house and look at my roof, gutters, downspouts, and small area of siding that I wanted to replace. Ben Burnie got up on the roof, which was over 20 years old, checked the 36 year-old gutters, downspouts, siding of porch roof, and attic crawl space. We talked about types of shingles, size of gutters and downspouts, number of downspouts, fans versus ridge vents, how to replace the siding with leftovers I had. Ben is very knowledgeable, and I had done some research before hand, so I was able to understand and ask appropriate questions. I knew I wanted a roof that could withstand the high winds we have as well as complement my tan brick plus provide more efficiency than the old shingles did. I wanted bigger gutters because my current ones did not handle the volume of heavy rains, and they clogged easily with debris from the trees. I wanted hidden hangers behind the gutters, so that the Vinyl/polyester screens would fit more snugly than they did with spruels. We also talked about logistics of the various jobs. I requested proposals from 3 different companies, which we exchanged via email/web sites. I reviewed each carefully, including Workmen's Comp Insurance, Licenses, warranties. They were all different and didn't use the same terminology, so I asked for more specifics from each company, including brand names, sizes, types of materials to be used, so I could do more research and make better comparisons. Dry Home was most expeditious in responding and appreciated my thorough review and questions, which made the proposal more precise. I wanted to know where drip edges were to be placed, what type and size of drip edges, how many nails per foot, what type of waterproofing underlayment was to be used, type of caulking, color of vents, and flashing, stack collars, pricing, warranties, brands of materials. After several iterations of proposals, we agreed on everything via email and electronic signatures. The scheduler contacted me and sent me documents to review and sign. Delivery of materials by an outside company who used a big boom to unload materials onto the roof was also very professional and interesting to watch. Three separate teams for roofing, gutters, and siding were established. Each team was punctual, professional, and courteous and have years of experience working in their field and for Dry Home. The roofing team spent the entire day and stayed late to finish up because we had 2 showers and the tree trimmers for NoVEC decided to show up unannounced and blocked my lane, causing delays. The following day, the gutter team arrived, and when they were finished, the siding team arrived. Each team cleaned up the area. That night a big rain storm hit, so I could see how well the roof and gutters worked. The gutter team installed and screwed in place the vinyl/polyester screens I purchased. I was very pleased with jobs well done. Several weeks later the Dry Home inspector came out to review the work. Everything had been done properly. This past winter the roof and gutters had 21 inches of snow on them and survived well. I love to hear the sound of rain going down the gutters as they should. I checked the temperature and humidity in my attic for several months to make sure the soffit and ridge vents were working together. I was happy to see the appropriate fluctuations as they changed according to the weather. My roof and gutters are beautiful and make the house look more attractive while they perform well.

Our roof was damaged by a tree that fell in a violent storm around 3 am on a Friday, about 5 hours before we had to leave for a family funeral out of state. The hole was only the size of a dinner plate, but large enough...before I could get a tarp over the hole at daylight, enough rain came in to bring down a section of ceiling in the room below...but that's another story (and yet to be repaired). Started looking for roof service on Monday. Started with Dryhome because they had installed our roof originally. Could not have been kinder in breaking the news they were overloaded because of the storm and busy season and couldn't get an. Estimator out for 10 days. The story was the same with every other company-- licensed and not we tried. It was a BAD storm. As it turned out, they were the earliest estimate we could get! The estimate was decent--$600 to repair the roof and $125 to clean gutters on the whole house. And wound up being the only one we got: we asked the estimator if he could adjust the tarp ( that I had weighed down with pieces of the fallen tree). He said he would, but he went a huge step further: he went to his truck and came back with what looked like a giant shingle, climbed back up onto the roof and nailed it over the hole to make it watertight. After the estimator left, we debated what to do and decided to accept, canceling two other estimates. Dryhome was able to come the next week, a crew came well within the timeframe, replaced a whole section of wood and shingles, cleaned the gutters and hauled away all the debris from both in under 1 and 1/2 hour. The repaired section of roof is on a one story extension we can see everyday and the repair is seamless, matches perfectly.

I have a three-story townhouse without a deck. While my roof is only 15 years old, it is the original and a number of my neighbors began replacing theirs two years ago. I scheduled a free estimate to replace it and Joe came out and did so on time. He went into detail about what they would do, with what, the warrantees and how long it would take. The estimate was provided two days later (based on a satellite generated picture. The ONLY reason I went with a reputable competitor was price.

Response from DryHome Roofing & Siding Inc
Ben had met with the homeowner on the day of the appointment. The homeowner thought it was originally scheduled for a different day and Ben politely showed him the paperwork confirming the appointment. It was pouring rain that day. Ben suggested that we reschedule for a time that was more convenient for him and agreed on Friday of the same week. When Ben returned on that Friday, the homeowner was not at home and unreachable. Unaware of what kind of roofing system he was looking for, Ben used his best judgement and emailed him a quote using the best materials. Ben did not hear back from him.

I found DryHome through Angie's list for a small, but difficult replacement of an old skylight that was not well insulated and creating mold on the interior drywall. Jim did a good job responding and providing a quote. There was some delay in completing the work which was partially driven by the timeline on receiving the replacement skylight so I had to give them a B on responsiveness. With that said, i can say it was worth the wait. Once we had a firm schedule they showed up on time and completed the work to my satisfaction.

We had a leak in our roof after the terrible storm in 2012, and decided that it was due to be replaced anyway. DryHome came back with a reasonable quote and we felt comfortable working with them because they were very professional. We also decided to put extra insulation in our attic to help lower heating costs. The roof was installed in one day and looks great. The price included removal of our old roof, installing an ice shield, and cleaning out the gutters. We were very happy with the end product. The only minor complaint was that it took a while for them to return and do the insulation, but in the end we were satisfied customers.

Very responsive and punctual. Estimator was knowledgeable and did a good job of explaining what they'd be doing and why. They were able to schedule the work fairly quickly Work was performed as per the agreement, using the agreed-upon good quality materials. Crew was efficient and professional, seemed competent and safety-conscious. Job was finished quickly and all debris was cleaned up and removed from the site. After 4 months and several snows, the roof still looks good, with no indications of damage or leakage.
