Excellent!

Choosing a contractor is not an easy thing, always wondering if the outcome would be good or not. I always dread having to deal with and follow up on the work of the contractors. My patio wood fence was very old and, in one of the storms last winter, it came apart. As it is a townhouse, I had to share the costs with my neighbor, and then -as a chain reaction- I ended up coordinating with 4 other neighbors. Also, I wanted to replace my patio gate, the fence surrounding my AC unit and cover the place where I stock the firewood, not easy!!! One of my neighbors had requested an estimate on his side, and I requested three: the first never called me back; the second, I have to follow up twice to get the estimate; and the third one was DJ Fence. I send them the request for an estimate and a couple of hours later I received their reply, and an appointment date was set. Lorenzo called me half an hour before the appointment to let me know he was on his way; he arrived on time. We discussed what had to be done on my patio and the other neighbors (he also gave me some practical suggestions as the used of cedar for the gate and the cover of the firewood, as it is a lighter wood), and he prepared the estimate there on the spot, which came out to be very reasonable. When the project was granted to him, Lorenzo coordinated with Miss Utility to check on the property and, once this was done, he confirmed the day for the installation. The day of installation, Lorenzo called me -again half hour before- to let me know that the crew was on his way and that he would meet me to review the final details. His crew -coordinated by Sergio- started working as soon as they got there, worked continuously until dark, finished the project the next day, and cleaned up. As you can see, everything came out fine. In conclusion, DJ Fence has all that one wants when hiring a contractor: good customer service, good product quality, attention to detail, reliability and timeliness. It shows that they like and enjoy what they do and they do it right; what a relief!!! Having said all of this, DJ Fence did an excellent job and I fully recommend it.

Lorenzo along with his employees were great from start to finish and easily finished the job in one day and when I emailed him later that evening about four pickets that didn't seem to be nailed down well enough, he had his same employees back the next day to take care of them.

Lorenzo and his team did a fantastic job. The arrived early in the morning and worked very hard to get things done. In the middle of the job we decided to (1) move a post after the hole was dug and (2) add another gate. The team was more than happy to oblige me. I also asked Lorenzo to dig 36" holes (to be below the frostline) and use concrete to ensure that the posts were sturdy. He assured me both practices were standard. Even better, they did both my and my neighbor's house at the same time, offering a discount for doing them simultaneously. My only feedback is that there were a couple small places where quality could have been higher (I noticed a small bracket is loose but just needs the screws to be tightened). This is a small nitpick. I would absolutely hire DJ Fence again. NOTE: I was originally considering a vinyl fence (although I ultimately went with wood for the natural contrast with the forest behind my house). I got quotes from DJ, MC Fence, and Long Fence. What I learned through the quoting process with all of these companies is that if your yard is not flat and you're thinking about vinyl or aluminum, consider where the fencing company gets their vinyl / aluminum fencing from. The reason is because large companies like Long have their own custom vinyl fencing made that can contour to the ground. Smaller companies like DJ will go to a home improvement store and buy vinyl sections. The result when installed on a small incline is there will be gaps on one side. [Something like this: [*** Link removed ***] This is not meant to be a knock against small fencing companies. It may not matter to you if you don't have a dog. It's just worth considering if it is a factor.

I needed a double pool gate, not an entire fence, and it was needed ASAP. Further, this was in the midst of their busy season and also a holiday weekend so with a small job to be done ASAP, I knew the odds were against me. I called DJ Fence expecting voice mail but instead got Lorenzo who said he would be out within the hour. (Maybe I got lucky?) Lorenzo was not only professional but very knowledgeable and provided a written estimate on the spot. But when could the work be done? Lorenzo could have a crew out within 48 hours-- on a Saturday of a holiday weekend no less. The guys arrived on schedule and, after having to wait out a tornado and then a thunderstorm, went to work. They were to built a 5' x 10' double pool gate, thus, tight fitting and a tight design. Not easy as It would attach to an existing 10 year old fence on both sides and opened over a stone walk none of which were remotely level or square. Nonetheless, soon there was the new gate and it fit and swung perfectly- I couldn't have been more pleased. This proficient crew was also mindful about cleaning up the job site. Not so much as a shred of sawdust was left behind.. The entire experience couldn't have gone better and I would absolutely use DJ Fence again. As a side note, I've dealt with literally 100's of contractors in the course of 35+ years in real estate. DJ Fence not only provided quality work and superb customer service but at every turn consistently went far above and beyond the norm.

DJ Fence did an excellent job. They removed the old fence and installed 190 feet of three-rail split rail. Lorenzo is very competent and professional. He showed up within a day after I called for an estimate. Once he was hired, the crew performed the work within a week. The crew worked efficiently and cleaned up afterward. THis is a terrific company.

The entire transaction was extremely smooth via Angie's List, from getting an estimate, to scheduling the job, then completing the job. Lorenzo from DJ Fence responded to my many questions usually within minutes. Everything was done as promised and with a price that is very reasonable.

Lorenzo and his team did an amazing job. I contacted so many fencing companies and Lorenzo was the only one who responded to me in a timely manner and was very responsive. Initially I just wanted a section of the fence replaced but I asked for a full replacement quote as well. DJ Fence didn't try to upsell me and told me I could get another 10 years out of the rest of the fence. After seeing Lorenzo's very very competitive price I opted for the full replacement. His men showed up on time, did an amazing job and cleaned up after themselves. I have a lot of mature landscaping and they were very careful about only trimming what they needed to trim and were very respectful of the property. I also appreciated that Lorenzo came over to personally inspect and check up on the work. That kind of service gets lost on these bigger companies. I highly recommend DJ Fence and I would definitely use them again. I couldn't be happier.

The job went extremely well. Lorenzo did an excellent job with our fence. He was professional, reliable and did a great job building our fence. He was friendly, very easy to work with and helped come up with a design that works well with our space. The work was done on time and the crew cleaned up and took away all of the old debris. Lorenzo was great at discussing the project and working through a proposal. We planned a schedule in advance and his team was on time and did a great job. Clean up was terrific and price was very fair. Could not be more pleased. Highly recommended.

The estimate went well until Lorenzo told me that he would not honor the 10% discount in the Angie's List monthly magazine. He said that it should be 5%. I showed him the ad and he still would not honor it. I was most disappointed.

It was excellent. All work done within 1 day, to code and looks beautiful and at a great price!!

Lorenzo was very responsive to inquiries. He came out and gave an estimate in a timely fashion and gave the best price among the three estimates I obtained. He outlined a slightly different plan then the other two, but in the end I think his plan was the best thought out plan. When I decided to use his services, he scheduled it within about a week. He and his team were very efficient and personable. I did some clearing of the vegetation to better delineate our property line so that when Lorenzo came out, he could make a quick and final assessment of the fence line. His team had to cut away some more vegetation that was in the way, but they put that in their truck and I did not have to deal with it (it was a good amount of large branches). They cleaned our yard of all the work material. After they left, my dogs found a board where the nails were not placed in the bottom portion so they pushed the picket to the side and got out, but I can understand why they missed the board as the nails are not easy to see. I checked each picket and drilled in screws where any were missing. I am absolutely positive that if I took a minute to call Lorenzo, he would have been out here quickly to so the fix himself. They finished the job within a day. It looks nice and I am very happy with the service. I think Lorenzo and his team are honest and hard working.

From the first call, Lorenzo was very responsive. It's so helpful when a contractor not only responds promptly, but keeps you informed along the way! Lorenzo came out on a Saturday to give us the estimate. We had questions on the size of posts, and Lorenzo gave us two estimates, which was very helpful in deciding. He was able to begin work very quickly, and the fence is beautiful and well built. The crew was very friendly, and we couldn't believe how quickly they worked. I've already contacted him for some fence repair at our house. And my daughter has given out his name to a co-worker. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend DJ Fences.

I'm not one for writing reviews, but given that I engaged DJ Fence based upon user feedback, I felt compelled to add. I had already engaged another company that is reviewed here. The other company had done a fence two houses down, so I got an estimate from them. Truth is they were very nice, and my neighbor was happy. That said, I decided to get a bid from Lorenzo as well. Lorenzo responded very quickly to my email. He came by the following day to provide an estimate, and was willing to come by early to meet my schedule. He was on point in terms of measuring and explaining/recommending gate and mesh options. The primary decision factor was that he was over $800 cheaper than the other estimate (same materials, measurements,etc.) My recommendation, though, comes mainly on his execution. Once we agreed, he came by that day to collect the deposit. The same day or following called Miss Utility, who appeared the next couple days. Lorenzo then scheduled the install for Friday of the same week. The materials came the day before the gig. The crew came early, got to it, were completely efficient. Job done in one day. Cleanup outstanding and the fence is first rate. Love the look, plus used cement in the post holes, so it is rock solid. Most pleased because Lorenzo also validated the property line. Just completely thorough. The entire experience from first engagement to completed install 10 days (engaged on Tuesday, job done the following Friday. I am a sucker for professionalism. I also can say that someone in my neighborhood had engaged the other company before I even engaged DJ Fence, who were yet to start the job when DJ Fence was done.

Perfect. I'm in the US Navy and had to coordinate this from sea. lorenzo not only estimates and coordinated the job over email, he sent before and after photos and gave two status updates while I was gone. ehen I returned the job was done and a great job of clean-up completed as well.

Lorenzo the owner of DJ fence arrived at our house midweek as he said he will never start to dig until he calls utilities to make sure he doesn't hit any lines. He arrived early Saturday morning around 9 o'clock with a truck full of lumber and a helper. They got started unloading the wood and setting up their lines to make sure the fence went in straight and then they started to dig the fence posts shortly after that. They worked through the entire morning took a very short lunch break and went right back to work through the afternoon. The fence went up seamlessly. Lorenzo consulted with me to see what type of arch I wanted whether a upward arch or descending arch. He gave me his suggestion what and I said let's go with that. I could go on and on about how quickly and professionally they did the job. we ended up extremely happy with his work. You can tell he has a lot of experience and takes great pride in making sure his customers are happy. We have not had any problem with the fence and all the gates look fantastic. He suggested that towards 3 to 6 months after the wood cured that we varnish it to protect it. He didn't leave any debris in our yard. The neighbor across the street also hired him after seeing our fence. And then a couple of more neighbors in Del Ray also hired him and are very happy with his work.
