UPDATE: I had an electrician come by to look at a wiring issue for something else. Something told me to check Confenergyâ s work. We paid over $1000 to have our bathrooms vented in addition to the insulation work. They never performed this work. I have a call to them now but with their history they probably wonâ t return my calls. I donâ t know what happened to this company but donâ t use them. Please. I used this company a few years ago for my townhome and we were very happy with them. This year we moved and noticed that the house was very cold so since we were so pleased with this company before we used them again. WRONG!!!!! The sales pitch with Pedro was fine and what he thought we needed to Be done to make the house warmer especially the r bedrooms was new insulation, fixing where the bathroom exhausts come out and few other minor things in the attic. We were eligible for the Dominion Energy Rebate program. We were told we would get our rebate about 6 weeks after the completion. The crew came out at the end of Nov 2023. I was told that the rebate would be taken out of our final payment to the Confenergy. The crew came and did their job but insisted on full payment before leaving (this was like at 8 pm when they were done so the office was closed). My mistake was paying them. I thought because this company was been so forthright previously they would still be. MY MISTAKE. It is now over 2 months later. Brenda the accountant hasnâ t returned my calls. The receptionist while nice told me now my check is coming from Dominion and can take up to 6 months. Pedro the original salesperson and the person in charge of the Dominion Rebates was supposed to call me to get me access to a portal to let me see my status of my rebate. He has not done so. And the kicker?! Is my house is still cold

From the start of the estimate with Jon to the insulation project with the Team Leader Carlos, the project went well as expected. Jon was very professional and knowledgeable. He did not try to up-sale services I did not need, and I appreciate his honesty. Jon went over the appropriate insulation for the attic and the garage ceiling to bring our home to a comfortable level. Carlos and his crew did a great job communicating with me while performing the insulation. Carlos immediately notified me of a leak he discovered from the attic fan and temporarily paused the work on the attic and moved to the garage ceiling insulation while I addressed the leak. As a customer, the only comments/suggestions I would give to the crew is: (1) make sure they keep their tools and materials off the lawn (2) make sure the plastic wraps from the materials they use and trash does not get blown away to the neighbor's yard/driveway, and finally, (3) ask the homeowner which bathroom the crew can use while on-site. Overall, I am very happy with Comfenergy and their service. In fact, I have already recommended them to a curious neighbor.

A total disaster. An inexperienced, untrained crew created more issues than I had before they began their work. My goal was to increase comfort levels in my senior-living, one-level home built on a slab that is super cold in the winter. I hate as a senior being taken advantage of. I was very naive. I have spent thousands and now am having to throw more good money after bad to try and make my home comfortable to live in. It is so bad; I am ready to sell! And I can not afford to after all I have spent, without taking a loss on the sale. They dense packed my walls and now I am colder; in the process, they removed the flashing above my windows which now leak. I had to hire a window installer to replace the flashing that their incompetent crew removed. They failed to put back the siding properly, so it was hanging off my house. Once again, I had to hire a handy man to refasten the siding the crew removed while dense packing. And the dense packing was useless as it did not enter the cavities that already had batt insulation. While spray foaming triangle boxes, boots, and plenum, they sealed off all my dampers resulting in zero air flow. They reluctantly came back and had to dig out the dampers that they had foamed over. In fact, they over-foamed at junction boxes, boots, and plenum so that HVAC techs could not even tune my system. There is 2 feet of foam, yet hot air is rushing out of the flexible ducts that were not sealed properly. Yet there remain gaps on my boxes, boots, and plenum. Just today, a HVAC tech walked me around the attic, and I could feel the hot air rushing into my attic at the junctions, boxes, boots, and plenums that are all wide open; that I paid to have sealed. I almost threw up; I am heating my attic! And the tech said it looks like a dog was in my attic as the Comfenergy crews failed to put back my blown-in fiberglass insulation they removed when trying to foam, so there is no insulation at the boxes and boots. They were simply careless and failed to rake it back and even out my insulation resulting in further cold spots I did not have. In short, I now will have to hire another company to blow in more insulation and make sure it is even, so I do not have cold/hot spots. Additionally, they left the lights on in the attic, did not replace the attic access foam barrier, and failed to seal the major penetrations including light cans/recessed lights and supply vents I paid for. Next came the bathroom exhaust fans; they were installed improperly and did not vent because the outside flaps remained closed, while inside a cold draft came in my bathroom because the foam sealing, I paid for was not done properly. So now both my bathrooms are drafty. They were cold; now they are cold AND drafty. The HVAC tech today remarked he felt badly that I have two or more space heaters in every room, including the bathrooms! I strongly recommend carefully watching the crew if you ever choose to allow them to do any work for you. I trusted them. And I regret that. I was naive. I was cold. Rather I am still cold! I trusted their salesperson. The crew that did mine were either let go or quit. In fact, one of them still calls seeking to do side work. I politely declined. I suggest you do the same and seek a competent company that you can trust, does the work you paid for properly, and does not damage your home.

I am so impressed with Comfenergy. The sales rep explained why we only needed to improve the insulation at the top of our unfinished basement walls, not the whole thing as another company recommended. So it was considerably less money than we thought we’d need to do the job. Brent and his assistant arrived on time to do the work and were so quiet that we weren’t inconvenienced in any way. I definitely recommend this company.

From initial contact with their sales department we've had a great experience, Corey did an excellent job of taking pictures and showing the problems in our attic. Their level of communication from emails to phone calls was precisely correct by contacting me when needed and not too much with pictures detailing each solution and its associated cost. On the first work day their crew called ahead of time, arrived promptly and came prepared with masks, plastic sheeting, full body outfits and cloth covering for the stairs. In just over 6 hours they had cleaned up the entire attic removing bad sub-floor and other insulation, laid out the foundation for building a large deck space and placed part of the first layer of materials down. They also sealed the attic door along with some of the air vents and ceiling fans. They completed insulating my front porch overhang and cleaned up all of their mess very well. Painters tape was used on corners where they weâ re most likely to bump into it for protection and plastic sheeting was setup precisely where needed to keep dust off of our hallway things next to the attic entrance. Overall it was a great first day and they even spotted an issue from a previous vendor who failed to properly connect some of their duct work together (which was the original cause of my daughterâ s room temperature being so hard to control the temperature and not easy to spot). The only complaint I have is that while I fully expected the need to finish our attic sub-floor, remaining layers of TruSoftTM Cellulose on the main floor and encapsulate the duct lines with Polyurethane Spray Foam all before finishing with blown-in insulation, they left a key piece incomplete. When leaving they left the duct work leading from our main trunk line to my daughterâ s room off. This left a hole in the main trunk line reducing heat in all upstairs rooms but most important is that nothing was connected to my daughterâ s room. So around 6:00am she woke up coughing as we noticed the upstairs was around 56 degrees. Overall a simple heads up would have solved everything as we have space heaters, however I did not look into the attic when they left so thatâ s my fault for not knowing a key piece of the duct line was missing. Based on the overall work complete I would still very much recommend them as Robert (onsite team lead) was very good at communicating and the crew weâ re all quite friendly. Their work will last for the lifetime of my house and has already added value to the sale price. In the end they made a really nice attic deck leaving me with plenty of useable storage space. While this is not the cheapest company, the quality and knowledge that I never need to worry about my attic again is certainly worth it.

Professional, timely and experts at home comfort remediations. Ben was a pleasure to work with and quickly became a trusted advisor. The install was under a pork and deck and they did a superb job. The porch is so much more comfortable on these 46 degree mornings. Highly recommend them - you will thank yourself every morning

Summary: The Comfy team did a great job b/c they know what they are doing however, they are not without faults. Work Completed: Full crawlspace escalation and turning a vented attic into an unvented attic by adding CC spray from on the roof deck. Time frame: July 13-17 2020 Results: We are only a month out from the work being completed, so the analysis is on-going but here are the numbers so far. My Aug electricity bill was down 26% in real dollars from July. That reduction is in spite of the fact that Aug had a 31% higher average Cooling Degree Days (base Temp 70F - https://www.degreedays.net/-). In addition, the first week of my Aug billing cycle included this work. Again, this is very early on but that is a promising start. Other benefits include less variability in house temperature. Before I would see a temperature difference of 5 degrees Fahrenheit between my bottom and top floors. Now they are no more than 1.5 degrees apart (the thermostat is on the lowest level). This creates an overall more pleasant living environment. So while Iâ m looking at a return on investment that stretches out past 10 years, during that time itâ ll be a more comfortable home to live in. Challenges: My only complaint is that there doesnâ t seem to be a solid quality control program. To be fair, I have high standards of work quality. Especially when Iâ m paying for it. Comfy clearly understands the science and best practices. Itâ s always a challenge translating that over to the real world, which is messy. With that said I felt like I was the one that had to be pointing out the areas of poor workmanship. It sure would have been nice to feel like that quality control was being done for me. Now for the good news, Comfy is correcting all the issues I have pointed out (scheduled but not all completed). Bottom Line: Comfy has a talented team of people, who know the work. They will do a good job at a fair price. But donâ t let the sleek marketing and science lull you into a false sense of security, make sure you get what you paid for.

The process was explained in great detail which helped me understand what was recommended to have done and why. The Comfenergy contractors that came onsite were super friendly and respectful. They did a great job and showed me the work that they did. The only issue I had was that they didn't know what to charge me after the work was done. I had to look up what I had put down on the deposit, then let them know the balance. The next company to come out was Atlantic Duct Cleaning for the duct cleaning and the Aeroseal duct sealing. Again, the contractors were friendly and thorough. They showed me before and after pictures of the ducts, and I got a report of the Aeroseal results from before to after. I can feel the difference in the warmth of the home. I would recommend both companies.

Not inexpensive, but worth the cost for energy savings and efficiency. We had received a much higher bid from another company, and were glad we chose Comfenergy. The technician was very knowledgeable and we felt a great difference in our upstair master bed and bath which were uncomfortably warm prior to the improvements. Also nice now to have "green" home for resale.

Overnight winter temperatures was about 10 degrees F. The crew came that morning prepared for the cold weather. They worked hard all day and cleaned up after the work was done. The site was cleaner when they left than it was when they arrived. They were very professional.
