We hired this company due to good reviews on Angie's List, reasonable price ($140/hour), and Andy's assurance of the high quality of their work. Even though when I suggested that somebody from the company came to take a look at everything that needed to be moved, Andy said that it was pretty standard and there was no need for them to come out. In the end the experience was not good. The moving out part went smoothly until we found out that the movers had only 7 wardrobe boxes instead of 10 that Andy told us they would have. So we had to work around that. They also did not have mattress bags. One of the movers told me that I needed to request those in advance and promised to wrap the bed mattress and the futon mattress in clear wrap. The movers never did that. The main issue when moving out was disassembling the bed. The movers did not have any tools with them, and all our tools of course were already packed. So the time was wasted on looking for the tools, calling the supervisor, and waiting for somebody to bring the tools. Finally, we were ready to depart, but the movers did not know how to get from the apartment to the house (it is a direct stretch on RT 110 from Crystal City to Rosslyn). They ended up getting lost and spent 30 minutes trying to find their way to the house. When unloading, many boxes and items ended up not in the places they were supposed to be despite directions and clear labels. The movers also attempted to get a futon frame to the top floor of the townhouse without disassembling it. My husband had to insist and show them what to do. But the biggest issue was assembling back the bad. One of the movers put the screws from the bed into his pocket and lost one screw during the move. Without this screw it was impossible to put the bed together as it was holding the frame. So time was wasted again on looking for the screw and then having multiple phone conversations with the supervisor. In the end, the supervisor assured us that he would find the screw and would come to the house the following day to assemble the bed. We told the supervisor that we would pay only after the job was complete and the bed was assembled. He agreed to that. As soon as the movers left, I called the company and spoke with the owner, Bill Campbell. Instead of an apology and assurance that everything would be done in timely manner, I received attitude and a condescending comment of how Mr. Campbell was unhappy that we did not trust his company and did not pay the movers before the bed was set up. But how can we trust your company Mr. Campbell if you failed to provide your movers with basic training and tools? Bad business practices. The only professional person was the movers? supervisor who called regularly assuring us that he was looking for the screw. Somebody also called on his behalf to assure us that they were trying to resolve the situation. Two days later the supervisor was at our house with the screw and he and my husband were able to set up the bed. We did not have a bed for two nights. The total cost for the move came to $1100 and we ended up paying $700. But no, this discount was not offered to us; we had to insist on it. Needless to say, we will not be using Campbell Movers again, and we do not recommend this company.

The experience was very pleasant from start to finish. Andy was very friendly when I called for an estimate, which was less than other A-rated Angie's List movers. When I called back to schedule the appointment, he was very helpful and explained in detail what was included in the move. I liked that they didn't nickel and dime you over things like packing the flat screen tv (for which another company charges $50). I also had free use of their wardrobe boxes on the day of the move, which I appreciated. Moving day went off smoothly. The moving crew showed up on time and the entire move took 2-1/2 hrs from start to finish. They were friendly and very professional. Nothing was damaged and they always asked questions to make sure the boxes were going in to the right areas. This was a small local move, but my first time using a moving company. My worries were put to ease and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Campbell moving made our move easy. Their time and price estimate was spot on. The men arrived and got right to work packing our belongings. 8 and 1/2 hours later they left and we were in our new home! They treated all our belongings with care and nothing was lost or damaged. This was the first time I hired movers and it is the only way I will move in the future. Highly recommended.

I have a massive 5 piece master BR set that needed to be moved from the 3rd floor of my townhouse to the garage and into a trailer. They sent 3 men (thankfully) and they wrapped all pieces in canvas, then shrinked wrapped them to prevent damage to the furniture and the walls. I truthfully expected some damage to both considering the size of the furniture and the many turns down the stairs to the basement but to my amazement, there was absolutely NO damage!!! These men were fantastic and I commend them on their hard work..it was back breaking and they were meticulous. I would definitely recommend this company with complete confidence.

I have been getting several estimates from different movers. Andy came over to our house, and almost immediately told me that they would not be able to do our move, since we have a large house and going a long distance. However, the great thing is that Andy provided me with a great deal of information about what to lookout for. He said that I should check with the mover to make sure I know their requirements for packing. Apparently, sometimes, you pack something and then when the movers come, they say that they can't move it that way and they have to re-pack it - at added cost. He also told me that I could get boxes from Lowes and Home Depot cheaply; they sell them for the price that moving companies pay for them wholesale. Anyway, I really appreciated Andy taking the time to discuss our move and give me hints, even though they weren't going to be able to do the work.

A minor bit of scheduling confusion to start over the term "packing" but the team caught up and completed the move on day 2 as scheduled. The owner, Bill Campbell, gave us helpful hints to save a few $ and ease the effort. I highly recommend them to the infrequent mover.

The team was courteous, professional, and efficient. The driver called to alert me they were stuck in traffic - totally understandable during DC's unpredictable morning rush hour (they were only 30 minutes late). This was not an easy move since the distance from my condo to the truck spanned a lengthy courtyard and several sets of outside stairs, plus it started to rain midway through - they managed well. On the way to the new TH, the team made a side trip to discard some obsolete items. When moving items into my new TH, the team laid floor coverings and were careful not to hit the walls while moving items upstairs. They even helped me figure out a good placement for a wall unit when it didn't fit where I'd originally planned - this was an unexpected benefit. The move took slightly longer than the original estimate, but I partly expected that due to the location - the extra time was in no way due to the speed of the moving team.

Overall the telephone call went well.

They were on time and were very careful with our things. They were very reasonable and held true to their estimate. We highly recommend them.

It started with requesting an estimate. They responded via email pretty quickly and most of the back and forth was via email (my personal preference). They were very accurate about the requirements on truck size and time required and what they would do on the day of the move. Most of the other reviews are pretty accurate as well. They billed exactly what I anticipated and there were no surprises. The move took about 6.5 hours and the guys did not even take a lunch. They arrived on time and I had a call 45 min prior to arrival to confirm location and time of arrival. This was a fabulous move even considering that the movers had to deal with the remnants of an ice storm they handled everything superbly. Most of my furniture was already shrink wrapped but they went the extra mile and properly wrapped it in furniture pads and dollied everything out of the storage unit...at my second location, they laid down floor runners when walking through the house..I had three guys come do the move of an roughly the equivalent of a 2 BR townhouse. They moved everything to a brand new house and did it with minor wall scuffs (to be expected). I was very impressed and would recommend them and hire them again.

They're competitively priced. They offered a flat rate estimate, and there were no surprises when I got the final bill. They showed up with plenty of staff and didn't damage anything.

The Campbell crew was excellent. The estimate, which was provided promptly and was price competitive with other movers in the area, was very informative and helped us prepare for the move. When moving day came, the crew showed up on time and got right to work. They asked questions when needed, and worked quickly and diligently. They were careful with our belongings - both during the pack and unpack. When everything was loaded, the unpacking began. The crew again jumped right to work, and re-assembled items that required breaking down for entry into rooms etc. During the course of the move, someone from the main office actually called me to check in and see how the process was coming along. When the crew was done, they cleaned up, explained the payment terms, and rode off into the sunset. I definitely recommend their services, and will use them again in the future.

The movers arrived an hour late due to traffic. Despite that, and the fact that I had grossly underestimated the number of boxes that we had when I called for a quote, the three movers had me out of my apartment in just over two hours. It took them less than an hour to get up to Rockville (impressive given that had to take the beltway all the way around) and they rapidly unloaded the truck. Nothing was damaged, everything went to the correct rooms and they were done in less time (by an hour) than I had been quoted. They were professional, quick and handled everything (including a fragile, antique chest of drawers) appropriately. I highly recommend Campbell for a local move!

I got them through Angie's List. I thought they were wonderful. I've used them a couple or few times. I had them move me from one residence and put all my stuff in storage. Then two weeks later they moved me into a different residence because I had to wait for the new place to become available. I might have paid more than the other mover I had used but it was a good rate. I had a big house with three bedrooms and I had huge furniture. I had them move me to a storage locker and then move me again so it was two moves and not just one. Their price was fair and they did an excellent job for me.

It went very well. They were polite, fast and easy to get along with. They came in, got the information as to what we wanted to move, and got right to work. They packed up everything and moved it very quickly. They did not take lunch and went right to the new apartment and unpacked the truck. They were excellent.

They were professional, kind and careful. We used them twice in six months! Would use them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended. Terrific service both times.

Campbell was very professional during the quote process, and prices were fairly in line with other reasonable companies, but there was one rated higher that came in much lower on cost. By the time I went back the other company had booked up so Campbell was my second choice. Campbell showed up on time to pack with 3 people, two guys and a woman. The woman worked harder than either of the two guys, but one of the guys who I believe was supervising worked harder than the other. They went through on Saturday morning and packed our contents securely and I didn't have any breakage. We had done a lot of the packing ourselves so packing only took 3 hours or so. I was pleased as I thought this would lower the overall cost of our move. The movers showed up on Sunday on time with two trucks around 9am. I took two guys and a truck to our storage facility while my father-in-law supervised the movers back at the house. I was at the 10'x15' storage facility until after lunch, it took longer than I expected. While I was gone my father-in-law had to stop the workers before they damaged my Stickley king-size bed frame as they were trying to take it apart wrong. It really just needed a swift bump from the bottom and the sides would detatch,but they were trying to unscrew permanent screws that were not even 100% visible. They also tried to carry it out without blankets around it. The bed cost over $3000, our only piece of good furniture. Since my wife is a museum curator of decorative arts she would've been furious if they had damaged it. They also seemed stumped by our two cribs (we have twins) and those took a long time to disassemble and reassemble at the new house. They cleared the house and only made one ding in a painted banister which I pointed out to the supervisor to make sure that it didn't happen at the new house where the banisters were stained and would not be as easily repaired. Blankets had not been placed to protect the banister. The new owners did not complain about the ding. At the new house all went well and I had labeled the boxes well enough that 90% of the boxes ended up in the right rooms. It took a long time though, and the guys were getting tired around 6pm so we bought them dinner and they perked up. They worked until almost 8pm, about 11 hours total time. When I settled up the bill with the supervisor he explained that the total price of the move was capped but not the packing vs. moving separately. So the extra moving time on day 2 ate almost all my savings from day 1. If I had known that I would've had them pack everything so I didn't waste my time trying to save money as it was hard to pack everything up with 3 small kids around. I don't think anyone is particularly thrilled with their movers, but overall these guys seemed responsible and whenever I asked them to do things differently they did. So I would recommend checking them out. Definitely shop around but Campbell is a decent choice.

It went wonderfully. The movers showed up at the time they were scheduled. They used a runner so they wouldn't track dirt throughout the house. They were very professional and worked quickly. All the furniture was wrapped properly to prevent damage. The furniture arrived safely on the other side without any damage. They put all the furniture where it needed to go and set everything up as I desired it. The final bill was a little higher than the estimate, but that is due to my asking the gentlemen to do a few things to help out that wasn't estimated for. I highly recommend Campbell Moving and plan to use them again. They are honest professionals that I feel fortunate to have selected. Thank you Angie!

I had three movers that showed up pretty much on time, were extremely professional, polite, pleasant, and careful with my belongings. The quote was right on, nothing was broken, and they didn't even scratch my brand new hardwood floors. I would definitely recommend them -- especially after having nightmare experiences with movers in the past. These guys are great.

Jonathan and Jose showed up on time at exactly 9 am. I was very impressed ! Jonathan called me the day before to touch base and again on Sat morning to tell me they could come earlier than scheduled. They were very professional and polite. The charge was the amount that was quoted. Most of my pieces were antiques and they wrapped them very carefully. I would definitely hire them again !

I had a good experience initially when booking the moving service for Oct 12th. They quoted me a fair price using 4 workers. They even offered to take my own moving boxes for disposal after the move was completed. The office contact (Leon) was professional, friendly and informed. I did receive a confirmation call later that the move was still scheduled for the set date and the movers would arrive at 9am. On the morning of the move, no one arrived at my condo. At about 10:10am I called the office and spoke with Mr. Campbell. He said he would check and call me back. He did call back and informed me that the order was never entered with dispatch. So he said the movers would be at my house in about 45 minutes. At 11am I receved a call from the driver of the truck. He stated that they were just leaving the office and would arrive at my house in another 45 minutes! The movers actually arrived to start the move at 11:45am which was 2 hours and 45 minutes late. The punctuality was terrible, but I do not fault the movers. The office process of ensuring this job was scheduled was very poor. The owner never should have promised an arrival time unless he knew that was possible. Once the movers arrived they were terrific. They obviously knew what to do and how to go about it quickly and efficiently. They were careful of my belongings and acted very professionalyl. I was impressed with their service. Upon arrival they ensured that my items were placed where I needed them and made sure that they picked up any moving materials before they left. The actual moving process was good. The length of time that was approximated for the entire move was accurate. So I would use the company again based on that. They do need to ensure that they do not drop the ball with the booking process and be responsible for the time quote given. I did not ask for nor did they even call back and offer to offset the cost for the move due to the very late arrival. To me good customer service would also have been demonstrated with a call back from the office to ask about the service.

They showed up at the exact time they told me, brought wardrobe boxes to pack my closet. They never stop moving, they work extremely hard.

The company arrived on time and began working immediately.? The workers were very careful and were attentive to our instructions.? We couldn't be happier with the efficiency of the job.

I was moving from a 700 sq ft apt and only going ten miles from Herndon to Ashburn, however they treated as if I was going cross country. I have to say they were more conscientious then the movers that brought the rest of my household goods from Florida. They were flexible enough as to reuse some of the boxes and paper to cut down the cost. Very friendly staff.

It went really well. Ricardo and his crew did a fantastic job. We moved right in the middle of Tropical Storm Lee and it was soaking wet. They lined my old house really well to keep it from getting dirty. They worked non-stop like a well oiled machine. All furniture was wrapped very well. We had over 175 packed boxes and another 30-50 items, plus fragile furniture. When everything was all said and done, not a single item was broken, no scratches on the furniture and no accidents. We had a couple of minor scratches on the walls, but, given the amount of furniture and boxes we moved, in my book that is a great job. The best part was that even after 10 hrs, the 4 man crew had energy to be careful with things.
